Good morning and happy Monday! I hope your week went well. I jammed so many things into my schedule this week. I had a piano delivered, announced October book club, celebrated my dad’s birthday, baked cookies, continued my sweat app, shot photos for an elopement down at the beach, stayed at a bed and breakfast, went to a Fall market, decorated the porch for Halloween, had a manicure/pedicure, had wine and pizza with Caitlin, played tennis, had a movie night with neighbors and even made final plans for my wedding. It’s safe to say it was busy, but a PRODUCTIVE week! Now, let’s get this recap going (even though I already told you everything I did!) My dad turned 64 (sorry dad 😂 ) on Monday!
We had him and my mom over for sushi and Crumbl Cookies! My dad absolutely LOVES sushi and torturing himself with heeps of wasabi on it. I ordered from Akahana because they always have BOGO on sushi rolls. I ordered the Charlotte roll, bagel roll, Hawaiian roll, and spicy tuna roll! I also order their chicken lettuce wraps because they are so good.
We ended the evening outside playing cornhole. Such a fun night! On Tuesday, I finished up some leftover pad thai chicken and rice over a ginger salad. It was an excellent post-workout after finishing up my sweat app. I spent the rest of the day catching up on emails and editing. Leftover pumpkin bread for breakfast on Tuesday! I headed down the street to Lowes to pick up a few pumpkins and mums for my porch. I usually go to my local nursery, but they’ve been so busy that their selection was low. I’ll try to make it there later this week to fill in a few more spots that need mums. I love that my neighborhood is going all out for Halloween decorations! I have to get a few more scary things to add to the collection, but I can’t wait for Halloween night. I did get in a few fights with my rose bushes while adding the cobwebs. 😢Caitlin came over for wine and gluten-free pizza night on Tuesday. We sat out on the front porch for a few hours catching up. It was such a nice night to be outside with the sound of rain and zero humidity. I headed to Fripp Island on Thursday to photograph an elopement, and it was such a magical sunset! I can’t wait to make coffee and edit the rest of the photos this afternoon. The weather was perfect, and the last seconds of the sunset were bright pink. I was up early in Beaufort on Friday morning to have coffee and fit in a long walk around my favorite streets before heading back home. Of course, breakfast at Low Country produce! I’ll share the photos in a separate post from my morning and stay at the Beaufort Inn. I made grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup for dinner for Kyle and me. I had mine with Brussels sprouts and a habanero ranch from Tessamaes. (my grilled cheese and tomato soup)
We watched Practical Magic, and I was in bed by 8:30 pm. I only had a few hours of sleep the night before, so I was ready to hit the pillow! Of course, I’ll wake up at 7 am for the Fall market! 😊 I enjoyed a toasted marshmallow oat milk latte from Humble Cup while walking around. Being able to wear Fall my boots and jeans again makes me so happy! These boots from Target are SO comfortable. I purchased them in the brown color as well. When we got home, I had a yogurt parfait and then headed to the garage to get my workout in. Kyle sometimes does the Sweat workouts with me, which motivates me more. He’ll just use heavier weights or modify things to make them harder. On Saturday night, we headed over to our neighbors for taco and movie night! It was so nice to be able to sit outside by the fire while watching Hocus Pocus! We started Sunday morning with a few hours of tennis! I’m on a parfait kick. The rest of the day, I baked cookies (which I blogged about yesterday), caught up on laundry, and edited a few more photos from the beach wedding. Now, I’m off to conquer today’s sweat app workout!

Hi, Lina!
Thank you! 😊 Hiking sounds like the perfect Fall activity! Gotta take advantage of these temps.
I’m still in the process of figuring it all out and it’s definitely hard with the pandemic. I may share things closer to the time, but may just share after!

Hi Taralynn!
It really sounds like an intense and productive week 🙂
I absolutely love your boots!😍
I have to say tour Dad doesn’t look like 64 at all! I would give him 50 something 🙂
I don’t have a porch because I live in an apartment but I would love to have one someday and play around with decor.☺️
One of my favorite Fall activities is definitely changing my closet and I did it last weekend, so this week I will surely go for my favorite pumpkin spice latte and walk in the park watching how the leaves change 😍
Have a nice rest of the week!

Hi Tara, are you going to share any details or discussion about the books you read? Or are you just recommending books?
Taralynn McNitt says
I’m sharing the books I’m reading this month. I do a small description on the book club post. If you go to the September book club, I wrote a little note after each book I finished. I also love having conversations with people as I go!
Ilyssa says
Sorry, I did not realize you added a note after each book! I read One to Watch and The Guest List, definitely easy reads which I love! Looking forward to zoom book club sessions and newsletters! With COVID I think these are great ideas, something to look forward to 🙂

I’m so curious about the fall market! I’ve never heard of that and wonder if there’s one near me.
Do you decorate your porch for Fall?
Yes! A couple weeks ago I prepped my garden by removing annual summer veggies/plants, and last weekend I put in fresh fall plants and pulled out some decorations. This coming weekend I’ll get out the rest of the decorations (we actually decorate the whole yard!) and do finishing touches!
Have you entered the Book Club giveaway yet?
Yes 🙂
What is one Fall activity you’re going to do this week?
This weekend I’m going to finish decorating and go pick pumpkins with a friend. I’m also wanting to try making that fall wine you posted about a couple posts ago!
Taralynn McNitt says
Hi, Dorothy!
It was just like a small pop-up farmers market with a lot of fall things!
Ohhh have fun this weekend and let me know how you like the wine!!
Jenny says
Hi Tara!
I’ve had the most perfect Fall week and I’m glad to see you had a good week too 🙂 I had a week off work and got lots of rest, read a couple books (nothing from your list this month yet though), made sure to go on beautiful fall walks, and I’m trying to work in a weekly salt bath all month to keep healing and get more restful sleep- appreciate your recommendations so thank you. You’ve inspired me to decorate our front porch with new decor so I’m excited for that to arrive.
PLEASE try to recreate that toasted marshmallow oat milk latte at home because I WANT TO TRY ONE THIS FALL! yum, yum, yum. In the meantime we hit up some local fall markets too and found several great pickled products and a few bags of maple coffee I cannot wait to sip on.
Happy FALL
Taralynn McNitt says
I will fo sure try to recreate that recipe at ahome!!!!
