I don’t know where to begin. Well, I guess the beginning…
I’ll be posting chunks of our trip into little posts to keep it more organized. I could babble all day long about how great the weekend was, so it’s better I do all that babbling in separate posts.
After having a stressful week, this trip was exactly what I needed. It was a girl’s only trip which meant it was a fun only trip! No offense boys, but it’s fun to let lose with the girls every now and then. I packed up everything I need and didn’t need.
We took off at six and Sealy and Samantha brought their fur babies. Thank goodness Sealy drove her SUV because I couldn’t imagine fitting all of our bags, two giant dogs and the three of us in my little Volvo.
It was only a 3 hour drive for us, but even the drive was fun! We planned out our weekend on the way there.
I had asked a ton of you for the past couple of months to leave suggestions for places to eat in Charleston and I made it strictly a rule to only go to the suggested places. So when we unpacked everything at the hotel, we took off for Kings Street.
I started with a whiskey diet to begin the night. I only drink soda on nights out.
I hate drinking on an empty stomach, so we split a black bean burger with sweet potato fries. The burger tasted like a taco! It was pretty damn good for a veggie burger. Sealy is vegetarian so that’s why we opted for something other than chicken at the Kickin’ Chicken! The sweet potato fries were spot on. But I don’t think I’ve ever eaten a sweet potato I didn’t like.
After the meal, I had a margarita on the rocks.
After dinner, we were told to head to Stars Rooftop bar and SO WE DID.
If you are ever looking for a fun place to go at night with a scenery, go there! I don’t remember why we have a picture with this security guy, but it happened.
After hanging out at some bars on King Street, we headed to the Folly pier to look at the ocean at night:) We ended up getting back to the hotel at 6am. So…it was a successful night.

Is the meal you shared your full dinner, or did you eat before you went out? I’m trying to learn how to eat as I’ve lost 65 lbs to get to my goal weight of 120lbs, but I didn’t snack & ate/eat a lot more than that @ any given meal! Getting to maintenahce is kinda scary for me.
Thx for your time!

Oh hey! I grew up near Charleston and was just there last week for my honeymoon! It’s a beautiful city. I forget how lucky I was to grow up on the coast sometimes, it’s definitely a great place to explore.

Hi Taralynn!
First off… I wanted to say that I love your blog it is so fun to read and very informative as well!
I had a question for you… I know I’ve read in your blog that you move to new places a lot with your boyfriend. I was wondering if you make new girlfriends in each new city?
I just recently moved to Maryland from Michigan and I need some girlfriends to hang out with while I’m here for the summer!
I would love to hear back from you on this subject! 🙂
