I can’t explain how happy I am to be home. The past couple days have been a stressful rush to get here and go there. Finally, I can cuddle up and catch up on my sleep. Jeremy and I left Georgia at 7:00 pm on Thursday heading to Chicago. Our fourteen hour drive turned into a 17 hour drive when the crazy blizzard struck. Thankfully we made it through the weather conditions, and arrived in Chicago around 9:00 am. I crawled into bed like a little kid and passed out.
One hour later I woke up to get ready for a Company Christmas party, and run a few errands. I was operating on zero coffee and only one hour of sleep. I’m hardly functional without the two. Around 2:00 pm we arrived at the party. I was starving when I got there, so thank goodness for the hors d’oeuvres. I had a couple bruschetta, which tasted heavenly. Dinner was served an hour later. The owners of Jeremy’s company have a strong Polish background, so I had the chance to experience Polish cuisine at it’s finest. It taste a lot better than it sounds or looks.
The party was a blast, but with the lack of sleep, all I wanted to do was dive into bed. I ended up falling asleep at 10:00 pm last night after the party. I’ve never slept better. I woke up early this morning and did a quick catch up on Christmas shopping. When I got back Jeremy and I headed over to Garrets Popcorn to pick up some more gifts, then stopped at the Rock N Roll Mcdonalds for a quick lunch. That place still amazes me, even if it is Mcdonalds. It has three floors and an escalator, but I still took the stairs by habit. For lunch I had: coffee, fruit and salad. We had nothing to eat in our apartment because we have been staying in Georgia.
Around 3:30 pm we loaded up the car and headed to Iowa. I took over the drive, because Jeremy drove most of the way to Chicago through the snow. five hours later we made it to Iowa. I am so happy to be home, cuddled up in bed. All of the traveling stress is over for now. I can finally focus on Christmas. Tomorrow after my work out, Jeremy is coming over to my parents house. We are going to get in the Christmas spirit by baking Christmas cookies, watching Christmas movies and wrapping our presents. I will also be spending a couple hours posting more Christmas recipes for the 12 days!
For now I am signing off, and getting some sleep!
xoxo
