Peanut Butter Cookies (made with almond flour)
These healthier peanut butter cookies are soft, chewy, and naturally sweetened with pure maple syrup. Made with almond flour and seven simple ingredients, they’re gluten free, easy to make, and perfect for a wholesome snack (one your entire family will love!)

We had a major pantry cleanout over the weekend. I’m talking about all the high sugar snacks, processed chips, and convenience foods we’ve accumulated over time. I don’t want this summer to be filled with junk food. We’ve been spending so much time outside walking, swimming, and staying active, which means we need to fuel our bodies with wholesome foods that help us feel our best.
Of course, that’s easier said than done when you have a dessert obsessed toddler. So on Sunday, I asked him if he’d like to bake cookies with me. He never turns down a baking session with mom, especially when cookies are involved. Since then, we’ve been swapping some of our usual snacks for these healthier peanut butter cookies, and they’ve become our favorite little treat after dinner.
What makes me happiest is that he gets just as excited about these cookies as he does my classic chocolate chip cookies. Knowing he’s getting some protein, healthy fats, and fiber in a treat he genuinely loves feels like a huge win. Sometimes the smallest changes end up making the biggest difference.
As a mom, that feels like a win. I’m not interested in creating food rules, labeling foods as good or bad, or making dessert feel forbidden. I simply want to fill our home with foods that help us feel our best most of the time while still leaving room for fun. These cookies fit perfectly into that balance.
They’re soft, chewy, naturally sweetened with maple syrup, and made with simple ingredients you probably already have in your pantry. Whether you’re looking for a healthier dessert, an easy snack for active kids, or just a delicious peanut butter cookie recipe, I think you’re going to love these.

How do these healthy cookies taste?
These cookies are soft in the center with lightly crisp edges. The peanut butter flavor shines through, while the maple syrup adds just enough sweetness. They’re rich, satisfying, and taste like a classic peanut butter cookie without being overly sweet.
Not only were these cookies a win with me, but they were a huge hit with my toddler too. You can actually hear him in the video saying, “Mmmmm!” and talking about how good they are. I had no problem letting him enjoy an entire cookie, and honestly, it felt like a parenting win knowing he was eating something made with wholesome ingredients.
The best part is that they taste just like a classic peanut butter cookie. In fact, I think I like them even better with almond flour because it gives them the perfect soft and chewy texture. If you’re not a big maple syrup fan, don’t worry. You can’t really taste the maple flavor at all. It simply adds a natural sweetness that blends perfectly with the peanut butter.
I truly think you’re going to love these cookies, especially if you’re a peanut butter lover. They’re easy to make, made with simple ingredients, and taste like a treat while still offering a little extra nutrition in every bite.
