Happy afternoon, everyone!
I hope your week is going well so far. Fall was put on hold when I walked outside into a wave of heat a few minutes ago. It’s back up to 80-degrees, but I won’t complain, especially after seeing that big snowstorm sweep over the midwest. I love a good snowstorm, but not in October. I was outside trying to take a photo of my dogs when I got the notification from my phone that my storage was full. I started going through deleting my photos (embarrassingly, I have over 23,000 pictures on my phone that I need to go through and delete.) As I was scrolling, I realized I hadn’t posted pictures from my little 24-hour trip down to Beaufort from a few weeks ago.I went down there to capture a wedding, and it was so rare being able to spend time down there in cooler temps. Beaufort is, by far, one of my most favorite places. If you haven’t read my Beaufort Travel Guide yet, you may want to start there first! I took so many photos while I was out on my morning stroll, and I didn’t want those to go to waste! 😊 Plus, we stayed at the Beaufort Inn Bed and Breakfast, which was on my travel bucket list since moving to Charlotte seven years ago. I can’t wait to share some photos with you today, and I hope you get the chance to visit the charming Beaufort. I think that’s where I want to live later in life. 😉 My mom tagged along with me for the day. I was excited to sit by the fire with wine during the evening with her.
We got into town late afternoon, and we were both starving. We stopped at Magnolia Cafe to get turkey sandwiches and some green tea before checking into the bed and breakfast. The inn was adorable! The interior was so unique because you could see all the floors when you looked up from the first. In the middle of the stairway, there was this huge chandelier. The location was perfect. I mean, who wouldn’t want to stay in a cute pink bed and breakfast?
I drove out to Fripp Island to shoot the wedding while my mom hung back at the inn to read her book. The evening couldn’t have been any more perfect. From the weather to the bright pink sunset, the wedding was absolutely breathtaking, and I had so much fun photographing it. I shared a preview of some of the photos in a recap blog a couple of weeks ago. We were both starving by the time 9 pm came around. Beaufort has so many amazing restaurants, but we wanted something quick to eat by the fire. A lot of the restaurants closed on the weeknight, so we settled for Moe’s. And for the record, Chipotle is so much better. 😂We woke up super early, put on our walking clothes, and headed out for breakfast. I wanted my mom to try out Lowcountry Produce. It’s one of my favorite spots in Beaufort. I had their parfait, and my mom ordered their grits bowl. The food and coffee were as good as I remember it being! After breakfast, we headed out on a 4-mile walk around the back neighborhoods and waterfront. This is one of my favorite parts of visiting, and it’s also fun to ride bikes! It truly felt like fall outside, so walking was fine with me. After walking around the shops and getting all our steps in, we stopped into the Common Ground for treats to take with us on the way home. I had a pumpkin spiced almond milk latte, and my mom had their cranberry orange muffin 😋 ♥️
Questions for you!
- Do you ever go on day trips?
- Chiptole or Moe’s?
- Anyone else have too many photos on their camera roll?

Chipotle and Moe’s are both chains, so I would have to say I prefer neither. There are so many independent businesses that are struggling right now, so I would choose one of those.

Charming photos of a gorgeous little town! Nicely done.
We love day trips (often places we can go out after the dog finishes breakfast, hike and explore a town, and then get a meal somewhere after and still be home before the dog’s dinner) and I have a feeling they’ll be a regular thing in the covid era over the next year too.
Moes (covers face) when I ate queso. Not sure now but I still love Moe’s burritos without cheese so…
Just deleted a million photos this month-and, still have too many.

Thanks, Jenny!
I feel like the Queso is the only good part of Moe’s!
Yeah, it’s good for all the small towns to have business right now too!

I never go in day trips but I feel like I should. This has definitely inspired me to start!
I prefer chipotle, but once the hospital I work at catered Moe’s on a super busy day and we were all so starving that it tasted like heaven. I bragged about it a ton – then took family there one day and it was awful! I think they key was starvation, exhaustion, and being able to make our own bowls instead of telling others what we wanted.

They are perfect for getting a dose of travel!
Lol I think you’re so right about that!

Gosh Beaufort looks beautiful! I’ve never been, but I definitely want to check it out now. I’ve been down to Hilton Head Island a bunch in my life and I think it’s close to Beaufort. We usually take a trip to the NC mountains in the fall to see the leaves and get apples. I actually like both Moe’s and Chipotle 😋 I definitely need to save or delete a bunch of photos from my phone. It’s been telling me my storage is full and I keep putting it off 😂

Oh my goodness, this place look absolutely beautiful! So happy you had great weather. 🙂 I really love Moe’s, but I think it’s because I’ve had it way more often than Chipotle, haha. I have loved Chipotle when I’ve went there. I’m not sure if you have them where you live, but have you ever been to Hot Heads? It’s super yummy and the same type of restaurant.
