This week is going by fast. I havnt done anything too exciting or out of this world; it was a pretty therapeutic week. Sometimes when life gets really stressful, you have to take some time to yourself and be happy.
On Labor Day, I went to Portofino’s with Nick. It’s one of our favorite Italian restaurants in Charlotte. They have the best homemade bread, soups, and their house dressing is to die for. Instead of getting something off the menu, I ordered their special. It was a lobster tail over steak and garlic potatoes. I’m glad they don’t have this on their menu otherwise I’d order this all the time. We couldn’t figure out what the topping was. It tasted like fried onion skins…whatever it was…incredible!
I went grocery shopping after and found Dunkin donut spice coffee:)
I was in bed early on Labor Day so I could force myself to do some reading.
Tuesday morning, I got up really early so I could spend some time with Grumples. I had a yogurt with coco powder mixed in, blueberries and sliced almonds.
We went on a two mile walk and it went so well. I have the front harness now and he doesn’t pull at all. We sat on the driveway for an hour after our walk. I had my coffee, he had his bowl of water, and we watched people walk by and kids get on the school bus. Morning is my favorite time of the day.
Tuesday night, I met a couple friends at All American in Southend to watch the U.S. Soccer game. They have an awesome chicken caesar salad. Nick had is fantasy football draft, so he was pretty occupied all night.
Thank God I have Tino and Grumps all football season.
This morning, I had to grab a Starbuck’s pumpkin spice latte. I was a little nervous it would taste different since they changed up the recipe, but it tasted the same. The only sad thing is that now vegans can’t have it…
I decided to treat myself to a scone too. I usually eat half and save the rest for another morning. I love how they have everything pumpkin!
Later in the afternoon I had a whole grain english muffin with almond butter and organic blueberry jelly. I needed some energy for my run.
I started running on the back roads and ended up running into a dead end on my fourth mile. I had to stop and take a picture because of the leaves…The trees are green but the leaves on the ground are orange…weird.
After my run, I got cleaned up and headed to the Groomer’s. Apparently they’re in the fall spirit too.
I decided to have an early dinner while Grumples was getting groomed. My groomer is quick, so I wanted to waste some time around the town instead of driving all the way home and back. I went to a little pizzeria and had a slice of my favorite pizza, pineapple and Canadian bacon! I also had a large salad. I literally had a carb day. Good thing I went for a run.
Grumples was happy to get out of there!
I came home to a really cool box of Cheerios with my name on it. Thank you General Mills. Did you guys know that Cheerios are now gluten free?
It was pouring outside. The perfect day to take a relaxing bubble bath with my books.
This was the first time I’ve had coffee in the bath over wine. I like the wine better.
I use Dr. Teal’s foaming bubble bath. It’s minty and therapeutic.
This is the soap I bought at the Garden Cafe and I’m obsessed with it. I have to keep it on a plank or it sticks to my tub like glue
I love my Therapy bath salts. They’re perfect for sore muscles. They smell just like Vicks and open up your airways. They’re better than tylenol when you have a headache.
I also put on my homemade face mask. Talk about a self day!
The new flannel plaid dresses for the shop came this afternoon! I’ll be doing my photos and putting them up tomorrow. I’m so excited because they are super super cute.

Where do you take Mr. Grumples to the groomer? I just moved to Charlotte with my Old English Sheep Dog dudley and had the best groomer up in Chicago.

That sounds like a great day to me! What book are you reading? Grumples looks so handsome 🙂

If you or any of your readers actually eat gluten free, the Cheerios are highly controversial 🙁 The oats are not gluten free, they are just supposedly “washed” of their gluten. But testing has shown that they still contain enough gluten to make people who have Celiac disease or gluten sensitivity, sick. Shame on Cheerios for stating these are gluten free when multiple boxes have tested as still containing enough gluten to make people sick. For more info, see Gluten Free Watchdog’s report and statement.

What time do you usually wake up in the morning/go to bed during the week? You always seem to be able to do so much in a day!! I’m looking for ways to fit more into my days without getting too stressed out. Thank you so much for sharing your life with us, you really are an inspiration!

I’m sure you know this, Taralyn, but those awful Garcinia ads are using your before and after pics from undressed skeleton to advertise their products.

OMG, Taralynn Cheerios! Awesome!

PSLs were never vegan to begin with 🙁 so sad. I love pumpkin.
Taralynn McNitt says
They weren’t? I thought they made them with soy milk.

I love that Cheerios moved to make most of their products gluten free! There is seriously a lack in tasty and healthy gluten free cereals on the market so I’m happy to have options back. The dresses look like they are going to be adorable! Can’t wait to see them.

Any good book recommendations? 🙂
Julie @ Run Away Freckles says
Where did you get the therapy salts from?
Taralynn McNitt says
They sell them at Target! & walgreens!

Literally the most perfect few days! Looks so relaxing. Question for you: Would you be willing to do a post about your business? I think it’s so awesome that you’re selling clothes, jewelry and accessories, but how did it all get started? Are you the designer or are you partnered with a company and selling for them? I’m so interested! 🙂

Personalized Cheerios?? So fun!
I’m resisting pumpkin anything until October, but that scone looks delish! I would not be able to stash half for later, that’s for sure!
