Rippingtons, Running & Brunch!

I’m going to try to fit this really quick update post in because I have friends in town and a busy day ahead of me! But, as I always say, “a quick post is better than none.”

Thursday afternoon, I couldn’t stand being inside any longer. It was 102-105 degrees out. I put on shorts and a tank and went off for a three-mile run. I made sure to hydrate myself, bring some water, and take the miles slow.

I jumped in the pool with full clothing afterward.

Later in the evening, around six, I grabbed some Dunkin Coffee and headed to the peach stand in Fort Mill, SC.

The peach stand is such a cute little market. They have local foods, fresh produce, ice cream, desserts, and almost anything you need or want!

I picked up some of my favorite BrukBars!ย I love supporting the local business & the couple who makes these are super nice!

I also picked up some delicious peaches and whole-grain muffins for breakfast.

Yesterday afternoon, I was out and about getting ready for some friends to come in town. I needed to stop and grab a quick bite to eat. I chose Moe’s because it was really close and they have great salads! I ordered the grilled chicken salad with salsa, guac (yes I know it’s extra) light on the cheese, rice, and beans. I usually use salsa as my dressing.

I had half and saved the rest for later today ๐Ÿ™‚ I knew I had to save room for a big dinner at my favorite spot in Waxhaw, Rippingtons.

We also started with the southwest spring rolls because they are the best tastin’ things! If you ever go to Rippington’s, you must try these! We had five people at the table and we all had one! They were the hit of the night.

I had to take them to my favorite place for dessert, as you all know, the Waxhaw Creamery. I split a scoop of pistachio almond and a scoop on maple walnut.

We took our ice cream and walked over the bridge to the Haunted House!

I’ve talked about this house in a lot of my posts! (haunted coffee walk) I should start a haunted house wine & walk tour in Charlotte because I love this stuff. Thankfully my friends do too!

The creepy thing about this house is that it is in fact abandoned. No one lives there. No electricity runs to the house and all the windows are broken and the doors are open. Either someone was in the house as a squatter watching someone on an iPad or it was a ghost. We all stood outside trying to figure out what was going on in there. I’m going to bring binoculars next time. We were all pretty creeped out. It started raining and lightning and we had to rush back! We had quite the storm to top off the haunted house watch.

If you ever make it to the Triad part of NC (Greensboro, Winston Salem, High Point) there are a ton of haunted places and spooky legends. I adore stuff like that.

I love your curtains! Where did you find them? Or did you make them? And is your comforter seersucker? If so, I’m in love! I adore stuff being made out of seersucker material. So light and soft.

I love your duvet cover. I am fascinated by old abandoned homes and hospitals. Sometimes they are like time capsules.

I love creepy haunted houses like that! Have you ever been inside? Oh, and have you ever watched Ghost Adventurers? There you see a bunch of houses like this one :0

There used to be a house almost like this close to where I live. It was a big white house, and a huge barn and another Little “storage house”. It was really old, no one lived there and it was one of those places that were said to be really haunted because the previous people who had lived there had all hung themselves. 2 in the barn, 3 in the house, or something like that. I always wanted to go inside, but I was too scared haha. Then a few years back it was demolished. After that I really regretted not going inside. But yea. It was close to the woods where I like to walk so at least now it’s a lot less creepy to go for a walk haha.
There’s also a haunted mental hospital not too far from where I went to school from 8th-10th grade. SO CREEPY! Me and some friends once went in to take a look. Before we even got in someone started screaming and we freaked out and hid. It was just some other people who was in there who heard our footsteps and freaked out tho haha xD then we all went back inside together. It was really creepy, but at the same time sooo exciting ๐Ÿ˜€ that place always gives me the creeps..
