I headed to the grocery store yesterday afternoon and picked up some ingredients.
I was going to make my own crust, but then had an idea when I saw these. Truth is, I just wanted something easy. I didn’t feel like crafting pizza dough at 8 pm. These whole-grain wraps were only 90 calories and pretty low carb. I decided to use them as the crust. That solved the “I don’t feel like baking” problem. I also bought pizza sauce, green bell peppers, turkey sausage, turkey pepperoni and skim mozzarella cheese.
These are super simple to construct and there isn’t much to clean up afterward.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Grease a baking sheet and place the flatbreads on top.
Cook up the turkey sausage and bell peppers together in a frying pan.
Top the pizzas with the peppers, sausage, and whatever toppings you chose!Sprinkle 1/4 cup of cheese on each pizza!
Two pizzas for 500 calories? I’ll take it!
Bake for 12-14 minutes! The flatbread should be crisp and the cheese should be melted.
I figured these pizzas would taste “light” because they were so low calorie, but they were incredible! The crispy flatbread almost tasted like pizza hut’s thin crust pizza but less greasy. It was delicious and we plan on making these again and again! I really want to make a breakfast pizza version!
