It rained all week long, but the Easter Bunny brought the sunshine yesterday morning. I let Jeremy sleep in and I sat in my room with Grumples watching House of Cards with my coffee and a mini cinnamon swirl bagel. The fresh air flowing through the window, the sound of the birds chirping, and the sun rays shining in made it a perfect morning.
I made a bowl of oatmeal around 10:30am to fuel me before my run. I mixed in 1/2 tablespoon of ground cinnamon, 1/4 cup raisins, and 1 tablespoon of honey. I’m a lazy oat maker. I prepare mine in the microwave with water.
I finished my five miles and stopped at this gorgeous neighborhood to walk it out. I like to walk a mile after my runs to cool down. I usually grab my dog to do the mile with me but it was too far away. The run yesterday was gorgeous. My times were awful, but at least I finished.
About an hour after my run, I had Greek yogurt and strawberries! I like to freeze my yogurt for an hour or two before eating.
And this is what Grumples does when I’m eating…I don’t have a no beg policy in my house.
Now, I’m on my way to walk Grumples and enjoy the rest of the morning before I dive into work.
How was your Easter?

Easter was great! both me and my fiance’s families live out of state, so we kept busy. went to church then panera for lunch. Then we headed down to Jungle Jim’s in Fairfield, OH. I know you’ve mentioned your bro lives in Dayton. Next time you visit, you REALLY need to go to Jungle Jim’s. It is the most amazing grocery store!! Then went to Ikea and got some wedding schtuffs. Dinner at BJ’s brewhouse (ha-larious name for a restaurant). Then took the dog to the dog park. Busy, but such a fun day!

I look forward to reading your blog everyday. I homeschool my daughter and we love finding new recipes to make. Today we made your oatmeal with peanut butter and bananna. Of course, my daughter is allergic to peanut butter so she used sunbutter. We sprinkled with some enjoy life chocolate chips. Fantastic! After breakfast…my daughter biked and I ran beside her.

I’ve been going thru a similar running slump! I did a half marathon in February with a pace of 9:10 and now I’m pretty sure I’m going to be slower than that in my 5k on Thursday. Ugh! Don’t know what’s wrong with me! I’ve been trying to go swimming and biking more to change it up but I never feel like I actually worked out unless I go running.

I absolutely love your blog! I wondered if you listen to music when you run? If so, do you have some kind of contraption to put it in so you don’t have to hold it? Thanks!

Easter was lovely! I got in a workout at home, and then I was at church for most of the day. Ended the evening with a birthday gathering!
Your neighborhood looks so pretty!

Your oatmeal looks great 🙂 I’m lazy and make mine in the microwave too! My Easter was great-filled with family celebrating Jesus’ resurrection and our eternal salvation! Can’t beat that!!!
