Today is day EIGHT of the “cleaning up my diet” plan. I don’t care about any of the negative comments, I am freaking proud of myself for sticking to it strictly. It’s a lot easier than I thought. It’s easy to fall of track when it comes to a healthy diet, but it’s also easy to hop right back on. It takes will power, extra time, and dedication!
For breakfast this morning, I made a bowl of oatmeal with peach chunks, organic dried cranberries, organic banana chips, and unsweetened almond milk. (see which products I use)
I also had a cup of coffee with 1 serving of creamer.
I chose oatmeal for breakfast today because I need the carbs for my workout this afternoon. I will also eat six egg whites before my workout. I am running seven miles today (all slow pace) and then doing a thirty minute ab video by Jillian Michaels.
16 more days until the Dominican Republic!

Ignore the nasty comments Baby doll. Most are to distract from ones internal battle with self. You are such an inspiration to us all! There is zero need to explain yourself, keep doing what’s right for YOU! You are the only one who lives your life after all 😉
Terry says
Umm…what nasty comment? The question that Jinx asked about her eating disorder was very polite and sincere. As a health and fitness blogger, Taralynn should be more open about her eating disorder and SHOULD explain herself.
heather says
Well-intended concern is not nasty. Passive-aggressive blog posts aren’t, either…in a public forum, articulate writing is all that matters. If TaraLynn seriously feels safe, fed, satisfied, and happy, that’s a good thing. There are a lot of people who honestly don’t.
Negative or contradictory comments always get deleted from here anyway, it pays to be polite.
Sunny says
Terry- I do not know, as I did not see Jinx comment or anyone else. MY comment was made for Taralynn herself when she wrote: I don’t care about any of the negative comments, I am freaking proud of myself for sticking to it strictly. <– That was where I was showing my support, for HER. My comment was NOT to start a war with anyone.
Tiffany says
You’re doing great! No matter what you do or say others will always have something negative to say about it! You are such an inspiration to me and so many others!
Taralynn McNitt says
Thanks Tif!

Good for you. This is day two for me. Well, I’m not exactly doing clean eating, but it’s a “cleaning up”, like you said.
I’d love to know more about the Dominican Republic trip. Is it a vacation or something you were invited to? I’m excited for you (and proud of you).
The people who take that much time out of their day to be negative to others are the ones who are miserable themselves. They need prayer and love. I try really hard to remind myself up that when I feel myself getting angry at stupidity.
Laura Ann says
Does Emilee join your clean eating challenge? I guess it’s a lot easier to do it together
Taralynn McNitt says
nope. You can’t really force a person to join your clean eating plan. You just kind of have to do it for yourself.

I love your posts and my daughter and I just started following you. She has a similar love for eating clean and exercise. We both do. I just hate that people even take the time to negative comment. Ignore!!!
Taralynn McNitt says
Thanks Tracy! It’s the readers like YOU and your daughter that matter! xo
Linda @ TheFitty says
It’s great you have so much time to workout to go 7 miles(that’s more than 10k!) And then another 30 minute video. Good on you! I’m much too busy with post secondary auditions and such and even if not, then I have a log of rehearsals. Go hard, tara!
Taralynn McNitt says
Good luck with your auditions Linda!
Jinx says
Not a nasty comment at all and I hope it doesn’t come off that way! I’m just curious as you are doing with your eating disorder you have previously mentioned. I know a lot of clean eating is restricting… how are you balancing the two? I know with my past it’s hard to “diet” or have a strong lifestyle change with food because I always eventually slip back into bad habits! Hope you are well and happy to see you’re enjoying life! The pics of NC are beautiful keep em coming! Moving soon and I can’t wait now after finding your blog!

No offense taken at all. It’s a good question. I meet with a counselor twice a month now, and have a phone call with my previous counselor from back home every once in a while. I have informed them as to what I am doing and they think it’s perfectly fine. I’m not “dieting”, I’m just making smarter choices and trying to cut out dining out, and eating so many unhealthy foods. (not eliminating them all) I have felt like crap lately, I put on 10 lbs and have felt “sluggish.” She said it was smart to start eating “healthier” again. I make sure to get 1500-1800 calories a day and on the days I workout 2000. Eating crappy foods like pizza, candy, chocolate is ok in moderation and every once in a while, but I was doing it way too much and the way it was making me feel was unhealthy. I have felt so good, so happy, and so energetic since cutting that back. As long as I’m not falling into old habits (which are the scary ones) then I will be ok. She encourages this kind of lifestyle. You don’t give a recovering patient a bag of oreos, you give them a bag of trail mix. It’s eating healthier high calorie foods instead un unhealthy high calorie foods. I’m replacing pizza, with more nutritious foods and alcohol with more water or herbal tea. I just want to feel good!

I’m happy to read this answer and to hear you are still being proactive on your recovery. An eating disorder is something that never really goes away. I’ve been battling it since I was 14 and I am now 28. Every day and every meal is a struggle. Every person with this disorder is also different in their situation. Personally, it’s very hard to not eat certain foods because I will eventually lose will power and binge. Thank you for opening up about all this! XOXO
Taralynn McNitt says
I definitely understand that. Letting God take away my anxiety and fears has helped me. I pray every Sunday to take away any doubt. It has really helped. I don’t get anxious eating anything, I don’t feel guilty and I don’t dwell on it. That is an amazing step in recovering. I do however still feel “fat” or “lumpy” when eating and foods which is what I’m working on. I’m working on becoming more acceptive and loving towards my body. I do have full control over my disorder and I’m in a great place. I am no where near what I used to be and I’m truly proud of myself. You will get to a happy place soon if you keep working on getting better and facing your fears!
Jinx says
Thanks love! I’m proud of your process too. I’m one step closer but not close to where I want to be. I definitely need to work on my spirituality and letting go of things. I wasn’t brought up the most religious but I definitely would like to reconnect. I need to find a religion/church I connect with, which is challenging. I’m very open minded and would love to find a church that believes the same values I do, love, forgive and respect all!

my husband and I went to the Dominican Republic for our honeymoon!!! We stayed at the all inclusive Excellence Resort and we LOVED it. It was gorgeous and the food was amazing, specifically their Thai restaurant. If recommend it. Especially if you love lounging at the beach or the pool all day! We also made friends with the staff very easily and quickly and had fun at the shows and participating in the fun events!! I hope you have a great trip, I’m soooo envious!! Can’t wait to read about it
Taralynn McNitt says

I just started eating a strict clean diet today! I am actually writing out a meal ideas list for the next week so I don’t have to think too much about what I should and should not eat. Good luck and glad it’s going well for you!
