Mud! Mud! Everywhere! Mud! Mud! I don’t care!
It rained for two days straight in Charleston and there was no way of dodging mud puddles. Yes muddy dogs mean muddy cars and muddy dogs mean muddy clothes, but it’s all worth it. Seeing Mr. Grumples run around a muddy field with a giant smile on his face, oh and he does smile, makes all the dirt in the world worth it!
There are dog baths, washing machines, and cleaning supplies for a reason. My muddy dog is one of them.
After spending the afternoon out exploring, I picked up my Dad and Mr. Grumples and we headed to the field to let him run.
The field is mushy and covered in muddy puddles. That makes it more fun. Doesn’t he look like Falcor?
And after he was coated in wet mud, he had to top it with dry red dirt. Smart guy!
Thank goodness my parents place has a dog wash. He just walked right up there and I gave him the best bath ever. He is so curly, soft, and smells amazing! He was supposed to get groomed last weekend but he had that sick episode and I wasn’t about to throw him off on a groomer.
I am going to have to clean my car out today because it smells like wet dog and the back seat is covered in mud, but look at that happy face? I’m not even mad about it. After he gets muddy like that, his color and leash goes straight into a soak bucket.
The toys also go into the wash!
Do you guys fear the mud when it comes to your pup?
Safe to say Mr. Grumples has always loved the mud!

It’s ruined here too in toronto. Our winter was pathetic this year! Hardly any snow, and when there was, it melts the very next day.

This post makes me so happy! The love between a person and their dog is seriously one of the best things ever in the world.

At our house, the fenced in area will not grow grass, which means there is always mud on our dogs, and in our house, and on our clothes. Most of the time I don’t mind, but after a while it gets frustrating constantly having to clean paw-prints off the floors. Haha.
But like you said, it is great to see a smile on your dog’s face, and things can always be cleaned 🙂

I use to get really frustrated when my dogs would go out and get super muddy, but like you one day I saw how happy it made them. I have one dog that lives for the mud and snow and is outside playing in it as we speak. Now we just let him out for a while to play and then we bring them in and bath them after.

I’ve been seriously looking into adopting a golden doodle for the past year or so, but every time I start looking I get overwhelmed by the amount of breeders out there. I wanted to find a connection with someone who had gotten a goldendoodle when I realized I kept seeing one on your blog – Mr. Grumples! I was wondering if you would be able to share which breeder you chose and how you were able to narrow down the process for that.

Mr. Grumples is the cutest! My dog loves the mud too. I let her go in the mug one day last summer at the dog park and she went crazy! My car smelled for a week haha. Also, just curious, how old was Mr. Grumples when you got him? A puppy?

Aw, Mr. Grumples is so adorable! Love the pictures! I don’t mind when my dog plays out in the mud. I figure, they have such short little lives compared to ours. I like seeing them happy, ya know? Plus you’re right, they’re totally washable.:)
