I have so many apple dessert lovers in my family. Last weekend, I decided to make a semi-homemade breakfast dessert cake for the 4th of July brunch we had at my parent’s house. This cake took about ten minutes to prepare and thirty minutes to cook, which turned out incredible! You will want to save this recipe for all the apple fritter lovers. Don’t get me wrong, I love spending time making homemade cakes from scratch, but time is limited with a baby. When he’s down sleeping, I have about 45-minutes to cook or bake something up. For now, boxed cake it is! It’s fun to use a standard box mix and get creative with spicing it up!
Apple Fritter Cake With a Maple Cinnamon Glaze
Ingredients
Vanilla Cake Mix
Cinnamon
Apple Pie Filling
Brown Sugar
Butter
Powdered Sugar
Milk
Maple Syrup
Sea Salt
Flour
You can make this recipe gluten-free by choosing a gluten-free cake mix and using a gluten-free flour for the streusel.
The best part about an apple fritter cake is that you can serve this for breakfast with coffee or for dessert with coffee. And if you don’t like apples, you can probably get away with using any pie filling for this recipe. Next time, I need to try it with blueberry pie filling or peach pie filling. The delicious streusel on top of this cake is my favorite part. I wanted to eat it by the spoonful!
