Happy Tuesday!
I have been so lazy this morning. I have so much to do, but instead, I’ve chosen to sit here in my robe swiping up on TikTok for the past two hours. I hate when I get sucked into that rabbit hole. Luckily, it’s going to warm up this afternoon, so I can get out for my walk with Leo and listen to a few podcasts. I’m so thankful my body has allowed me to continue walking 3 miles a day in my third trimester. I have my glucose test tomorrow, which I am not looking forward to. I’m hoping the drink isn’t as bad as everyone says it is. I do tend to like weird flavors and textures, so maybe I’ll actually enjoy it. I’ll report back!
Last night, I cooked one of Kyle’s favorite meals for Valentine’s Day. It was so good! I’ll make sure to post that recipe soon. We stayed up watching the new season of Love is Blind on Netflix, and it’s so much better than the Bachelor. I am SO OVER the Bachelor franchise. I don’t know why I put myself through the same storyline each season. I think it’s just the comfort of having something play in the background while I work on the computer. Anyways, I’m babbling. Let’s get this recap post going!
On Monday morning, I made some of my favorite three-ingredient protein waffles (you can make pancakes with this recipe, too.) All you need is one scoop of protein powder, two eggs, and one mashed banana. I used this cute little waffle maker my neighbor got me for my birthday, and it worked so well! This recipe made five perfect mini waffles. I also added fresh raspberries to my waffles maple syrup and had cotton candy grapes on the side.
I finally got around to cleaning out the refrigerator. This took several hours because I removed every drawer, shelf, and item from the fridge. I scrubbed everything down until it was sparkling. During my first trimester, my cravings would change by the hour, so I had all sorts of random food shoved into the freezer, taking up space. Now, it’s so organized, and it makes me so happy. I think the third-trimester nesting phase has kicked in because I can’t stop organizing and decluttering. After years of mismatched containers, I donated all of my older containers to goodwill and purchased glass containers for the fridge. This has made fridge organizing so much easier. It’s also easier to find lids and containers in the drawer. I’ll share an updated organized picture soon! I have my fruit, leftovers, and chopped veggies stored away in the containers for easy access.
After hard work, I had some leftover pizza and roasted veggies for lunch.
I spent the evening diving into Newborn 101. I am so in love with this book! I have been devouring each page and highlighting so many important parts. Even Kyle will read this book because it has valuable information for Dads. I have learned so much from reading this book, and I think it will help me navigate birth and bringing home our baby. I can’t believe I’m admitting this, but I have been crazy obsessed with watching birth vlogs on YouTube. I love seeing how different the experiences are, and it helps to prepare me mentally with what to expect. After watching 100+ vlogs, this book has taught me more in one hour than all of those videos. I highly suggest purchasing this book if you’re pregnant!
I had cantaloupe, a bagel with cream cheese, and cotton candy grapes for dinner.
I’ve been switching back and forth between protein oats and cereal for breakfast in the mornings. I have it with a bit of iced coffee, sit down to play Wordle, and start working on the computer. I’m back to waking up around 5:00 am each morning, but that’s because we’re usually in bed by 7:30 pm. I’m sure that’ll change soon with the lighter evenings, but I’m so exhausted during the evenings.
I worked from the loft on Tuesday morning while watching Sweet Magnolias. I have been slowly watching this show, so I don’t binge it all in one day! It took almost two years for them to drop the second season, so I’m taking my time. I will have to do a loft reveal soon (I have so many home posts to catch up on) once we are finished. I have a terrible time picking out wall art, so once I get that figured out, we’ll be able to share it! This loft bleeds into the nursery so it will be a kid’s play/tv room. For dinner, I made my favorite chicken Caesar salad wraps! I make so many extras and package them up to eat throughout the week. I cheated this time and made the recipe with a Caesar salad kit instead of making the Caesar salad from scratch.
After our 3-mile walk on Thursday, Leo and I cuddled up for a few hours upstairs so I could read. He’s been so attached to me lately but super gentle. I think he knows something is up because he doesn’t jump up on me, and he’s always following me around. Even at night, he’ll get as close as he can to me, and it melts my heart. Whenever I have trouble sleeping, I snuggle him close, and it puts me back to sleep for some reason. He’s just a calming pup!
I have been in love with peanut butter and banana as a snack lately! 😋
I needed to get rid of the dinner rolls in my freezer since they had been there for months. I decided to make my mom’s cinnamon buns, which are deadly! They are 10x better than cinnamon rolls and taste like a better version of cinnamon roll centers. They are so easy to make, and you only need four ingredients. She made them on our first day of school and Christmas morning. I loved waking up to the smell of these! I think I’m going to continue her tradition for my kids. This was the first time making them for Kyle, and he was obsessed. I had some leftover cheese and crackers from the charcuterie board I made for lunch on Thursday, a chicken salad wrap and grapes.
It was gorgeous outside on Thursday. I took Leo to get a Starbucks with me (he loves pupuccinos), and we headed outside to chill out on a blanket soaking up some vitamin D. I think his pupuccino hit him a little too hard. I tried to give tux one, but he did not like it 😆 I gave him bacon instead.
I had a bagel with avocado, chicken salad, and a side of crackers and avocado for dinner.
The baby never stops moving! My stomach is constantly twitching and jumping. We love talking to the baby and watching them respond with kicks. I’m almost positive this morning I saw their foot poking out of my side. I have a posterior placenta, so the kicks started at week 17. My stomach is constantly wiggling and twitching from the baby as I’m typing this.
On Friday, I had a smoothie for breakfast! It had vanilla plant-based protein powder, almond milk, frozen peaches, frozen raspberries, frozen mango, and granola on top! 😋
My mom and I took Leo for a 3-mile walk because it was 50-degrees out early in the morning. We sat on the porch having coffee after our walk talking about flowers and garden plans for a good two hours! Once we get started, there’s no stopping us. I made us a chicken salad wrap with fresh fruit for lunch before she headed back home.
I made broccoli-potato fries and lettuce-wrapped cheeseburgers for dinner on Friday night.
That evening, Tux and Leo played tug of war for the first time! I couldn’t believe it! The funny thing is that it was my scrunchy they were playing with. Saturday morning protein pancakes and apple chicken sausage! 😋
I made some almond flour chocolate cupcakes. The Blue Diamond cake mixes are unbelievable! If you have a gluten or dairy allergy, I highly recommend this brand. It tastes way too good to be made from a box! The brownie mix is just as good! We prefer this brand over the regular stuff because of the taste.
After baking, I sat outside reading because it was 70-degrees outside on Saturday, and I refused to be inside.
For lunch, I was going to order a DoorDash but convinced myself to do a smoothie instead. I didn’t want to wait on food since I was so hungry already. I made a smoothie with peaches, a banana, raspberries, mango, protein powder, almond milk and topped it with granola and more peaches. My bulbs are coming up! I can’t believe it 😊 The front of my house gets sun all day, so the ground is much warmer, which is why my bulbs are coming up. I planted over 100 tulips mixed with hyacinths around my front tree. On Sunday, I put together a little Super Bowl snack tray for Kyle and me. I made it super early because we usually have dinner around 4:30 and fall asleep before 7:30. I didn’t even make it past the first quarter of the game. I ended up watching all the highlights, the halftime show, and good commercials when I woke up! I’m trying to get all the sleep I can now before our baby arrives in a few months! 😊
I hope you all have the best week!
Questions for you!
- Do you ever have lazy days when you have so much to do?
- Did you watch the Super Bowl this year?
- How often do you deep clean the fridge?

That cinnamon roll casserole looks amazing! If you get a chance please share the recipe on the blog. I think our foster kiddos would love it. 🙂
Taralynn says
I have it posted on my Instagram reel and TikTok but will definitely add it to the blog!!

1. I feel like once a week I have a lazy day lol. My husband and I deep cleaned the house all Sunday so yesterday I just took it easy!
2. I watched the super bowl even though I was pretty bummed the Chiefs weren’t in it. I just started following the nfl recently and have loved it! But the game did feel late especially being on east coast time!
3. That is such a great idea to deep clean the fridge! I hope that I can do that sometime soon! Do you have any favorite glass containers? I’m wanting to switch out my plastic ones with glass hopefully soon!
Ps Those protein oats look so good! I’m trying to incorporate more protein in my diet so that’s such a good idea! 🙂
Taralynn says
Nothing better than a deep clean, and love that your husband helps!
Ugh I so wish they’d make the game earlier 😆 I’m a grandma these days.
I linked the ones I love in the post 😊 I am obsessed! You can even use them for baking.
Jennifer Glade says
Love this post. Also, where did you get the crazy plant lady mug? Asking for a friend.
Taralynn says
Home Goods!! 😊

I am addicted to love is blind and also have been watching the second season. On a whim I watched love is blind Brazil which is also on Netflix. It is even better than the second season. It is all in subtitles but is sooo good. I would highly recommend it if you are a fan!
Taralynn says
Ohhhh I may have to try that next! ALthough, I hate subtitles 😆

Oh man. I’m literally having a lazy afternoon as I type this (albeit with a baby on my lap who just ate, fell asleep, and now is serving as my excuse to not move from this spot.)
I got so excited that you mentioned Wordle (even though it is *so* popular right now, I really shouldn’t be surprised haha!) because I’m such a word-nerd. I love the simple challenge! If you love it and want more than one round, try Wordle Unlimited! Another a friend introduced me to the other day is Quordle – four different words at once, but your guess goes toward each one of the four. Super confusing… but also fun. And if you like math (or like me just tolerate it!) then try Nerdle!! Such a good mental flex game.
We went to a friends house to watch the game and I swear it’s the least I have *ever* paid attention to the game in the history of my life. It was so loud at the house and I just couldn’t focus on more than one thing at a time, so I chose the people instead of the game 🤷🏻♀️
I absolutely *love* a clean, organized space. It is so much more difficult to accomplish with more *stuff* in the house, which happened as a result of having kids, but they’re so worth it lol. I love scrubbing and organizing my fridge! Probably monthly, for us. It’s cathartic for me 😅 and the end result is me knowing what we have in the fridge to begin with! I only ever fill it like 1/2 full – the back of the fridge, I’m convinced, is where food goes to die. I just refuse to use that part most of the time lol!
So love seeing the belly peek in some pictures. So precious. 😍
Taralynn says
Girl, you have every right to enjoy your lazy afternoon! ♥️
Ohhhh I may have to download that. Kyle and I are obsessed with waking up and doing Wordle. Did you say “math” and “like” in the same sentence? lol NOT FOR ME! I run away from math 😂
That’s what the superbowl gatherings are mostly about. It’s never really about the game 😆 Food and people! ♥️
Luckily, I’m more motiviated to clean the fridge out now because there is a lady in our neighborhood that works with animal wildlife rehabilitation and she collects produce. I always felt so bad about throwing it away, or forgetting about it! Now, I’ll collect it for her on Wendesdays. I just need the motivation lol
Ahhhh thank you!! I’m hoping to plan a shoot soon since I only have a few months left!

Loved the recap! When I was pregnant I was also obsessed with birth vlogs haha But they did not prepare me at all for my delivery! I had several complications and in the moment I was so upset that my birthing experience wasn’t at all like what I thought it would be. Looking back I now understand that every woman’s body and birth story is different and at the end of it all you get a beautiful baby so it is all so very worth it!
Taralynn says
Every story is so different! That’s for sure! My mom had a traumatic experience so I’ve been trying to erase her story out of my mind with all of the vlogs lol I know my birth plan is to just go with the flow (and a few other minor things.) because you really have little control!
I’m glad you had a safe outcome even though it was scary!
Jenn says
I love my mini waffle maker. So easy to clean. I made desert waffles the other day and it was like eating a brownie waffle. Really good for cheffles (cheese & egg waffles) too.
Feeling baby move was my favorite part of being pregnant. It was fun watching my stomach move from side to side at night.
Taralynn says
Wow! I’ll have to try that 😋 A dessert waffle sounds incredible.
Omg it’s crazy how much movement the baby is making. This morning they poked their foot out of my side and it looked like an alien lol i love it!
Chandler says
Hey Taralynn! I definitely have lazy days even when I have so much to do 😜 it’s a bad habit. I sort of watched the SuperBowl. I watched the halftime show, but mostly was reading a good book 😊 I deep clean my fridge every few months. Not as often as I should!
It’s so fun to keep up with your baby updates. I’m so excited for you & Kyle ♥️ I actually had endometriosis surgery on Tuesday. My period cramps were unreal & we haven’t been able to conceive after two years of trying. We’re hoping & praying that this surgery is the key. I’m home this week from work recovering, resting, & taking it very easy. And show or movie recs for me?
And where did you get the broccoli potato fries?!
Sending so much love to you ♥️
Taralynn says
Those are the veggie fries! They’re at most grocery stores next to the regular fries😊
Every few months? You’re doing the most! lol I need to be like that.
Oh girl! I’m so happy you went through with the surgery and I am going to pray that it helps relieve all of the pain. I have a feeling good things are to come for you soon, Chandler!!
We’ve (and some mostly me) been watching Suspicion, Servant, Ozark, Sweet Magnolia, Love is Blind, Married at First Sight, Love Life, Station ELeven, White Lotus, Mare of Eastown, Big Little Lies, The Morning Show, and so many more lol. We loe our nightly shows!
Pamela says
Lazy days are so needed now and then. It’s funny that you say you guys eat dinner at 4:30 and go to bed by 7:30. My boyfriend and I are on the same schedule! I cannot use pregnancy as my excuse, but we do get up between 3:30 and 4am to go to the gym and then my boyfriend has an hour commute right now to work.
We did not watch the Superbowl. I would have if the Packers made it. LOL!
I do not deep clean my fridge as often as I would like, but we do our best, right?
Taralynn says
I’m terrible at cleaning the fridge 😆 So I’m right there with ya!
3:30 for the gym!? THE DEDICATION! 👏
Amanda says
Unrelated to your questions – but have you read Bringing Up Bebe? and Happy Mum Happy Baby? Highly recommend both!
Taralynn says
I’ll look into those!
Molly says
So you currently sleep 10 hours per night?! Wow. Kyle too? How did that wind up being your pattern? Are you nervous about life with a baby – newborns often don’t go to sleep till late.
Taralynn says
No, it’s around 8 hours of sleep a night. We head to bed around 7:45, which means brush teeth, wash face, moisturize, turn on the humidifier, let the dogs out one last time, talk a little, and then fall asleep around 8:45 ish. We both wake up at 5 am. Being pregnant, I make sure to go to bed really early because I’m constantly waking up in the middle of the night to pee, and sometimes I get waves of insomnia. For example, I was up between the hours of 2 am and 4 am last night.
I have zero nerves about my newborn’s schedule and mine. We don’t go to bed that early because we’re necessarily tired, but just believe it’s best for health to get the best sleep you can. I wake up much earlier than most, so that is why I’m in bed earlier than most.
I’m very aware that my schedule isn’t going to align with my baby’s. I’m a light sleeper so when I’m awake, I’m alert and ready to go.
Molly says
Ohhhh. I thought you meant you fell asleep from 730pm to 5 am! Which would be amazing haha.
I had terrible insomnia during pregnancy. I’m sorry you’re going through that! For me, my sleep was actually BETTER once I had my baby because I didn’t have tha pregnancy insomnia 🙂 hope that is true for you as well!
