Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you all had a great week, and welcome back to my blog! It’s time for a weekly recap 😊
I’ve been staring at my computer screen for like twenty minutes while sipping my coffee. Apparently, blogs don’t write themselves. I was up rather early this morning, and my brain is having trouble catching up with my body. The dogs and I beat the sunrise during our morning walk, and it was chilly enough to throw on a sweater. I guess when I’m craving fall during the dog days of summer, all I have to do is wake up at 5 am and spend some time outside.
I shot so many recipes, filmed new videos, and created so much content this past week. I’ll be spending a lot of downtime writing and editing, so I look forward to a very grounded week glued to my desk with homemade cappuccinos. I’m excited to share some new things I’ve been working on! But for now, it’s time to recap the week, so here we go!
My mom stayed over on Sunday night because my dad was still out of town. I thought it would be fun to watch movies with her and then wake up early morning to have coffee and walk the dogs before she headed off to work.
We were up having coffee while watching the news at 6 AM and then walked the dogs for a couple of miles around my neighborhood. When she headed off to work, I put together last week’s recap! If I don’t work on my recaps on Sunday nights, it takes me until around 1 pm on Monday afternoon to finish them. I do love writing them though, so it never feels like a chore.
For breakfast, I had my protein yogurt (coconut milk yogurt mixed with one scoop of (vanilla Orgain) topped with creamy peanut butter, cashews, and vanilla cinnamon grain-free granola.
Sometimes, I’m not in the mood to make actual meals and so I end up having smoothies instead. I told myself I’m not buying any more frozen fruit after I’m out, that way, I can force myself to be creative a eat something different for once.
For lunch, I had a strawberry protein smoothie. It had six large frozen strawberries, unsweetened vanilla cashew milk, one scoop of protein powder, and topped with Lily’s no added sugar dark chocolate chips, grain-free granola, and cashew butter.
Kyle and I ended up skipping the gym, and making a Blue Apron meal for dinner! We had grilled steak, zucchini, and roasted potatoes! After dinner, we headed out on a long dog walk before the storm rolled in.
Of course, I spent the rest of the night watching The Bachelorette. I usually use it as background noise when it’s the Men Tell All special. I wanted to work on my travel post and video from The Biltmore Village Inn. I’m currently working on part two! 😊
On Tuesday, I finished up work and then headed out to run some errands. I needed to pick up some new flowers, a new porch rug, and find a chair for my porch. I had been putting off the front porch work for months, and I finally got around to finishing it. It was pretty nice out, so a great excuse to be outside.
My breakfast smoothie had: •one cup of unsweetened almond milk •1/2 frozen banana •1 cup of frozen mango •1 scoop vanilla protein •1 tsp ground ginger •1 tsp spirulina •1 tsp matcha powder •almond butter and grain-free granola on top!
I needed to get rid of the brown bananas on my counter before the fruit flies found their way in, so I decided to make protein muffins. These muffins were so dang good! The banana protein muffins tasted like my mom’s buttery banana bread, and the chocolate protein muffins tasted like chocolate cake. I call them “big bowl” muffins because you can add all the ingredients into the bowl and mix! These have the same base with a couple of swaps! I took all the photos with my cell phone since the recipe was on a whim, but I’m still going to make a post with the recipe because these are so worth it! They are also grain free, dairy free, gluten free, and have no added sugar!
I sipped on an almond milk cappuccino while baking 💜
Lately, I’ve been going to the gym with Kyle in the evenings. He says it helps motivate him to go when I come, but him going and me staying at home makes me feel guilty about not going. I guess it’s a win/win? I don’t do anything crazy at the gym, I just stick to treadmill intervals. I alternate power walking at an incline and light jogging while watching the news. The time flies by really fast! It’s a great way to squeeze in mileage each night, and I think it helps me sleep better at night because it’s a way of helping me decompress. I walk the dogs three-miles every day, so it’s a great addition to my daily walks. Walking is by far my favorite daily exercise because it’s softer on our body, a great way to clear the mind, and something we can do daily without “overdoing” it. I always feel better after a walk. Back in the day, when I lost a ton of weight, walking was the only exercise I participated in. I hadn’t lifted a weight or ran a mile to contribute. I created a playlist and headed out for walks several times a day.
For dinner, I had a spring mix salad tossed in oil and balsamic topped with a hard boiled egg, black bean burger, avocado, sunflower seeds, and wasabi harvest snaps.
My garden rocks came on Wednesday morning, so I spent a couple hours spreading them around the rock beds. Instead of buying the $2.99 a pound bags at the craft store, I buy a $20 30lb bag on eBay! It’s such a money saver. When we visited Kyle’s mom in Florida, I fell in love with her glass pebbles in her rock beds, and had to do the same! They add so much shine when the sun hits them.
For breakfast, I had a slice of Little Northern Bakehouse grain & seed bread topped with a fried egg, avocado, and paprika. I already had a smoothie earlier in the morning, so that’s why this “breakfast” is so small. I have to throw in the reminder that everything I eat doesn’t end up on this blog. I believe in having a much larger breakfast than a slice of bread with an egg on top. It’s just the only part I took a photo of. 😊
After breakfast, I sat down at my desk to finish up my work for the day.
Kyle and I headed to the gym Wednesday night. I left my cell phone behind and walked three miles while watching the nightly news.
When we got back, I had another salad topped with eggs, a black bean burger, sunflower seeds, avocado, and balsamic! I was pretty busy on Thursday morning with work-related stuff but created some fun content later in the afternoon. I got around to filming a homemade guacamole tutorial, and a couple other recipes! Lots coming your way soon 😊
I also had a ton of suggestions for a YouTube meal prep menu! I am going to create several because you all had so many awesome ideas! This week, I filmed a budget-friendly, moderate carb, high protein, gluten & dairy free meal prep! Next week, I’ll create a low-carb & budget-friendly vegan meal prep.
I walked on the treadmill Thursday night while Kyle lifted weights. It was POURING outside! I was excited to get home, have dinner, and catch up on Sharp Objects. The show is so weird but so good.
For dinner, I had a 6-egg white omelet with my homemade guacamole and Brandless jalapeno crisps.
On Friday, I edited a recipe video, wrote a blog, and then got up and ready for a day out with my mom. We planned on walking the dogs and then stopping at some stores because I wanted to replace my couch pillows.
For breakfast, I had one of my protein breakfast balls and a smoothie. The smoothie had frozen strawberries, unsweetened cashew milk, protein powder, and topped with cashew butter.
I was so hungry after shopping later in the afternoon, so I picked up this Evo Hemp Cherry Walnut bar. I couldn’t get over how delicious it was! It’s paleo, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, grain-free, and non-GMO. It tasted like a delicious cherry pie!
I need your opinion. I plan on cutting my hair to my shoulders in November. Should I go blonder, or just keep the color I have? I’m torn!
Shoes (link) $22.99 I bought the cognac color, but also have the black because they are so comfortable.
overalls (link) $24.90 and I’m wearing a medium.
undershirt (link) $12.99 and I have it in eight colors because it’s so soft and washes up so well.
On Friday afternoon, I decided to set up my table because I bought new placemats at Home Goods. I realllllly need to get on top of fixing my wall and adding the second shelf. I still can’t believe we hit a pipe (just you missed the pipe story! you missed the pipe story!)
BEFORE
My dogs can get really rowdy sometimes, and Leo used to chew the pillows when he was a puppy. I’ve been on the fence about getting a new couch, but I decided to change up the pillows, and maybe go one more year with this big boy. It’s still a great sectional but is kind of ripped up on the right side because of the dogs wrestling.
I have been loving the textured pillows from Anthropologie, but I couldn’t bring myself to pay near $100 for a throw pillow. I decided to try out Home Goods, and found so many similar ones! And the color I have been searching for.
AFTER
The pillows turned out great, and I think I can get away with keeping the couch for one more year. Leo doesn’t pull the pillows off the couch and attack them anymore, so I feel good about the purchase. I only spent $24 on each pillow! That’s so much better than the overpriced Anthropologie pillows. Don’t get me wrong, I love them, but not paying that much.
I had a lot of people asking where I bought my couch. I got it at Value City Furniture about four years ago. I don’t think they have it available anymore. I’m thinking about getting a couch cover made for it. Maybe beige! I also picked up some new wallflowers for the house.
How cute is this coffee cup one? I couldn’t resist! I caved and bought a few fall scents, but my favorite is the merlot! 💜
I picked up some of their three-wick candles for the house too. I don’t know why, but I go into a full-candle mode in August! Speaking of, I signed my mom and me up for a candle making class and I’m so excited about it. I’m hoping to learn how to make soy candles so I can show you all how to do it! 😊 I’d really like to start using all my old food jars for homemade candles.
On Friday night, Kyle and I walked the dogs and then headed inside to watch Dateline and cook up a Blue Apron. Holy Moly, the Chinese Chicken Meatballs…WOWZER!!! Kyle said it was his favorite Blue Apron so far, but he always says that when he tries a new meal from Blue Apron.
I was up bright and early on Saturday morning. I wanted to get the dogs to walk, and then sit down to have coffee before heading to my tennis group. I love walking my neighborhood early morning. I usually don’t bring my phone with me, but I wanted to finish a Southern Charm podcast 😆
I was excited to be back with the tennis group! I had missed a couple of weeks because of the rain and traveling. We play for about three hours! When we were done, I had one of my homemade apricot cranberry almond nut bars! These things are so tasty! I can’t wait to share that recipe with you 😊 This may sound weird, but they kind of taste like cherry pop tarts and I’m not sure why!
I headed to Whole Foods after tennis to pick up some ingredients for dinner and then headed home.
I was zonked when I got home. I took a shower, and then made a protein smoothie for lunch. It had frozen strawberries, cashew milk, and protein powder. Of course, I topped it with dark chocolate chips! 😉
Later in the afternoon, we took the boys out to my parent’s house to run around before we had friends over for dinner. We figured it would be a good idea to get all their zoomies out. Guys the zoomies are real with these boys! Even though we walk them three miles a day, they get these bursts of energy, and it’s insane! If you’re not sure what zoomies are, read more here…
I had a homemade cappuccino when we got back.
Becca and her boyfriend Freddie came over around 6:00 pm for dinner. I made Becca’s favorite to celebrate her birthday! 🎂 She LOVES fajitas, so Kyle and I grilled up chicken, peppers, onions, and steak with Whole Food’s fajita seasoning. I also made some guacamole and salsa to go with the tortilla chips.
I usually use romaine instead of tortillas. I love the texture of the lettuce with my fajitas!
I usually drink maybe a glass of wine a couple of times a year, but Becca and I finished the bottle together, which hasn’t happened in about three years! We had so much fun bringing up old dating stories and talking about the weirdest things. There’s never a dull moment with her!
And what’s a birthday without a delicious cupcake! I picked up a cupcake and peanut butter fudge brownies at Whole Foods (too lazy to make myself) and topped it with sprinkles and a birthday candle!
Becca and I sat on my front porch for an hour chatting before ending the night. My heart was full, and I love these moments with her. I feel so grateful to have a friend like her in my life, and she’s ‘s honestly one of a kind.
Before bed, Kyle and I took the boys for one last walk, and then I was out like a lightbulb (thank you red wine.)
On Sunday morning, after walking the dogs, I made a bowl of oatmeal topped with almond butter and banana slices! I worked on my Biltmore video for a few hours before Kyle woke up.
Kyle had an appointment to get his suits tailored, so I went along with him. I wanted to stop at Sur La Table to pick up some new pans and napkins. That’s one of my favorite stores, and try my hardest to stay away!
We were sooooo hungry after leaving the mall, so we decided to head across the street and grab a quick lunch at Whole Foods. I had a kale salad topped with their dairy-free tuna salad (they use canola mayonnaise), chickpeas, edamame, almond quinoa, fresh fruit, and their paleo grilled chicken. Kyle and I split the sour Smart Sweet gummy bears (omgggggg soooo gooooood.) Plus, kombucha and power shot on the side! The PowerShot has wheatgrass, lemon, and ginger.
I am so excited to start making homemade doughnuts for the blog! 🍩 I also picked up some pink napkins for my table. I can swap out the pink details in my living room during the fall.
I spent a couple hours filming my meal prep post that’ll be live on Friday!! ❤️
After cleaning up, Kyle and I headed out on a dog walk, and then I started working on this recap post before bed 😊
I hope you all have a wonderful week and don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel for notifications on the upcoming videos!
Questions for you!
- What is your favorite thing to do on Saturdays?
- What store do you try to avoid?
- Go blonder? or leave it?
Such a lovely recap post girl! Love getting a look at your life! It’s not necessarily my favorite thing to do on Saturdays but I usually go grocery shopping and super clean my home as much as I can and then try and relax later on/ do something fun. Saturdays are the only day I really get to do any house work. Also.. maybe a little blonder atleast for Fall! I am in the same boat but I think i’ll end up getting some more blonde. Have a great Monday. XO Cant wait to see the meal prep!!
Katie | http://www.meshkomoments.com
Hi, Katie!!
Thanks so much 😊 The recaps are my favorite to write. A great way to reflect on the week!
I agree! Fridays are my housework days, but I tend to do a lot around the house on Saturdays as well. Kyle and I will usually tackle a project.
Thanks for the suggestions! I’m in that I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO boat lol
xo
It’s nice that you and Becca hung out! I feel like I haven’t been hearing much from her lately. Friends time is always a great time! The food looks so good too! 🙂
My favourite thing to do on weekends is to either go out with my boyfriend and explore new places (cute cafés!) and get together with my friends. I need that escape once a week since I have a boring 9-6 desk job! 💕

Yes, she’s been so incredibly busy with work and getting settled into her new home. We live an hour apart now 🙁
Sounds like the perfect weekend! xo
I think hair wise you look gorgeous all the time! I remember awhile ago you use to have super blonde hair… and it looked GORGEOUS on you! It really brought out your features! I don’t know if you’d ever want to go that blonde again haha, but I loved it! But… I’m excited to see how it turns out, however you decide to do it ! Hope you have an amazing week! 😛
Hi, Heather!
Thank you so much 😊 I’m just afraid of the maintenance lol
xo xo
1.What is your favorite thing to do on Saturdays?
Sleep in, make eggs on toast for my husband and I and read a book.
2. What store do you try to avoid?
Lululemon 🙂 I love that place so much because having cute clothes motivates me to work out, but it can really take a toll on my bank account lol.
3. Go blonder? or leave it?
I think you should go full blonde! It would look really pretty on you. I’m a blonde with brown eyes though, so I suppose I’m biased 😉
Lol I did go full blonde like SOOOOO BLONDE but afraid of the maintenance! lol I’d have to go short if I’m going to go blonde though! My hair always breaks and gets damaged.
Maybe short blonde 😀
Lol I avoided that store hard yesterday!!!
Sounds like the perfect Saturday! xo
Happy Birthday Becca! Having amazing girlfriends is the BEST. I only have a couple of truly close friends but they’re simply the greatest.
I’m excited for the muffin post! Ben and I have been OBSESSED with the blender muffins (the ones with carrots and dates). We took them on our trip (amazing airport snack!) and made another batch as soon as we got home. I need all the healthy muffin recipes I can get with the school year about to start! Nothing is worse than teaching on an empty stomach but I also try to eat really healthy so I have the energy to keep up with my students!
Honestly my favorite Saturday activity is just spending time with Ben, even if it’s grocery shopping! We’re both so busy during the week that it’s hard to get real time in together and even after 10 years, he’s still my favorite person!
Williams and Sonoma is my store to avoid, especially when I’m Christmas shopping. Oh man, everything there is SO cute.
Blonder! As someone who will never be able to go blonde, I always vote for blonde hair so I can live vicariously through it.
Couldnt agree more, Susie!
The blender muffins are SOOOOOO GOOOOOD!!!! Perfect for trips! I hope you enjoyed your trip!!!! You’ll have to tell me all about it.
Totally can relate! 🙂
Yes…dangerous store for sure! Anything kitchen related!
hahaha! everyone is voting blonde!!
By shoulder length do you mean right above shoulders or below shoulders? Also, why November?! I say go for it now while it’s hot!!
I just wanna keep my hair long for now so I can keep it up in a ponytail. If I go short, I’ll go above the shoulders 🙂
What southern charm podcast do you listen to!? Watching that show is my guilty pleasure 😬
Lol do you watch the Southern Charm Savannah? I just started it. (not as good as the OG)
The show is called Southern Charm Afterbuzz
Thanks! I tried the savannah one but it’s judt not the same!
Totally agree! I feel like they just need to keep filming and have non stop episodes 😊
1. Saturdays are a mixed bag for me, but my hobby is sewing! If I can fit it in, I love to work on whatever I’m making. In the summer when the weather is nice, my favorite thing to do is hit the beach with my dog!
2. Oh geeze, I try to avoid EVERY store! Haha. TJ MAXX and Jo-Ann Fabrics are my biggest weakness.
3. Maybe do Ombre again but go lighter, so you’re in between blonde and brunette?
That is so awesome, Angelina! I like to sew (but simple things!!) I bet your dog loves that! Wish I lived closer to a beach!
Both amazing stores!! 🙊
I have a balayage right now! I may just get more blonde added to it, but not sure!
I have to avoid LOFT. I love their clothes so much, and I always buy a ton when I go in there! And my Saturdays definitely vary, but I love spending my weekends doing anything outdoors. +1 if I can bring my pup!
I think you should leave your hair color as is for now. Your current color might be more appealing to you after you cut your hair. So I say get the haircut first. And then, if you really are still feeling going blonde a few months after, go for it! I’m sure whatever you do will look great.
I was in there yesterday, and I had to turn around!! lol
Weekends with the pups is the best!
Smart thinking and that’s what I’m leaning towards!
I loved your blonde hair back in the day- i say you bring it back!
Where is your gold flatware from and does the gold rub off at all? I’ve been looking for some forever but haven’t been able to find an affordable set that will be able to handle everyday use. Also open to matte black flatware if you have any suggestions!
I’m really thinking about it!
It’s from World Market, but I only handwash it!
I vote blonder! If you’re concerned about maintenance, try getting a color melt or a ‘root smudge’ instead of full highlights or solid bleaching so your roots are darker which will make it a lot less noticeable when your blonde grows out. Blonde can be so high maintence but I’ve found that keeping my roots my natural color and just having the blonde blended in lets me go way longer in between coloring. Also, pick up a good toning shampoo like Matrix Brass Off or the Pravana toning mask, so you can avoid yellow/brassy tones in between salon vistis! I can’t wait to try the new muffin recipe, my husband and I are obsessed with the peanut butter banana ones still haha
Thanks for the input, Meghan!!
Loving all the tips!!! 😊
We still make those muffins weekly!!
My favorite thing to do on Saturdays is hangout with one of my best girl friends, when she gets off work she comes over and we hangout and play games and do whatever all night.
I try to avoid Target… thankfully they started the pickup because then I can get what I need without buying other random crap as well.
Leave your hair!
Hi, Jenna!
Sounds like a fun Saturday!! ❤️
yeah, Target is DANGEROUS!
Thanks for the input!! xo
1. What is your favorite thing to do on Saturdays?
My husband and I are both high school teachers and XC coaches so when we can we like to sleep in, I like to go for a run, clean up about the house, and settle down for a movie with my husband.
2. What store do you try to avoid?
H&M. I love their simple style and lower prices. Good thing that the nearest one is an hour away!
3. Hair?
I say stay a brunette. You can also still pull your hair back at shoulder length.
Hi, Stacie!
Sounds like a great Saturday! So great you can work with your husband 😊
Ohhhhh I get in trouble with their online store lol
I need to do a trim soon!
Hey! I would love info on how you clean your couches to keep them from being smelly. Our dog doesn’t shed (as I assume yours don’t either) but I am always interested in tips on keeping my couch clean!
Hi, Elle!!
I shared which cleaner/vacuum I use on my couches in this post! It’s a game changer!!
I totally know the feeling of not knowing what direction to go with hair so had to weigh in here. I love the idea of you going shorter but really love you with darker hair. Maybe I’m just envious cause I do not look good with my natural dark color and am a total slave to blond…which is definitely up keep/time and money! Blonde is such a commitment and you look amazing with dark hair.
Just my opinion though 😁
You’re like the smarter conscious talking right now lol Maybe I’ll go shorter, but keep my natural color!
I love your hair with blonde highlights in it, and the length and thickness is amazing. I think this is the one thing i am most jealous of, your beautiful hair!
Thanks, Lisa!! We all want what we don’t have lol, believe me, my hair is a mess!!
In summer Saturdays are beach days (if i’m lucky). I try to avoid IKEA! Go blond!!
Ikea is dangerous!!
I wishhhh I could go for walks but unfortunately it’s already 90 degrees at 4 am
JEEEZE! So hot!
You have such great hair that you can do blonde or brunette! But I think blonde would be really fun!
Thanks, Abbey!!
It looks like you had a wonderful week!! Happy Birthday to Becca!! I have one friend who I am so close to that I don’t know what I would do without.
On Saturdays I love waking up early, sipping coffee slowly, and heading to the Farmers Market after a long dog walk. I wish there were more Saturdays during the week! Haha
I try to avoid Target and Anthropologie… Target because I buy way too much and end up spending way too much and Anthropolgie because I buy ONE thing and I have somehow spent too much LOL
I think you should keep your hair as is!! I have followed your blog since the beginning so I know you look sooo pretty with whatever hair color you have!
Have a wonderful week <3
Hi, Anastasia!
Thanks for stopping by 😀
I’ll let Becca know you said Happy Birthday 😊 so great to have close friends!
That is the perfect Saturday!
Both stores i NEED to avoid lol
Thanks so much for the input!!
Your kitchen table looks great! Happy birthday to Becca!
Thanks, Tammy!
I love exploring a new place I haven’t been on Saturdays! Especially if it’s close to home, I love new adventures 😊 I try my best to avoid Hobby Lobby, that store gets me in trouble. & I think going blonder is a great idea!!
Hi, Kelli!
That is always fun 😊
ohhhhhhhhh Hobby Lobby is my weakness!!
I love that you are going to do food prepping. That is my Sunday’s. But Saturday I love going for a run. Then hanging south my family. 2 teenage boys so it is always something adventurous. Leave it. Love the natural look
Sounds like you have a great weekend! Adventures are always exciting and I’m sure the teenagers keep it fun!
💜
Blonde!!
So many blonde votes!
I say this a lot but your recaps are my favorite.
Keep your color or go blonder once you go short.
Thank you so much, Quin!
Your pillows are adorable! Have you ever thought about doing interior design?
Hi, Lara!
I would never be able to do that because my brain is a decor mess lol I can never go in one direction!
Love the new pillows. We need to do something similar. Our doodles like to lay on top of the pillows and essentially ruin them. You can only wash pillows so many times 🙂
I wish we had a home goods…..
Hahaha yes! That’s exactly what happens. Leo likes to “perch” like a bird on ours! I’ve been trying to stop him but it’s so damn cute!
Not too terribly related to your post but how do you get your dogs paws to always look so clean?! My white doodle always look like she has boots unless I wash hers off in the tub and my black one just constantly gets dirt in the house! Got any tips or tricks?! Or am I just the owner of dogs who’s fur clings to everything, ha!
Hi, Ellen!
I hose the dogs paws off on the front porch and dry them off with a towel if it’s muddy or wet outside! They know the routine and won’t fight me. I just give them a treat after 😊 Leo actually loves the hose. The shower setting on the hose will be your best friend!
Such a fun recap post! Yay for birthdays, fajitas, and décor updates. 🙂
Honestly, my Saturday morning routine is one of the best parts of my week. I’m always up before my husband so I take that time to make coffee and pancakes or crepes for breakfast. Once he’s up we spend time together talking, eating, reading, drinking coffee, etc. It’s such a great time to recharge and make time for each other.
Wegmans! It can be really expensive and I always get suckered into buying so many food items that are fun, but outside of my normal grocery budget.
I remember years ago when you went full blonde. It looked so good, I had no idea you were a natural brunette! Even though blonder would look great, I say leave it or maybe try low lights for fall! The last weeks of summer/beginning of fall are for being outdoors, not doing hair maintenance and touch-ups in a salon 🙂
Thank you so much, Jen!
Sounds like a fun Saturday, and I can see why you probably look forward to it every week! 😃 A great way to recharge for sure!
All the grocery stores for me! haha
So true…maybe just messing with the cut and getting a few more blonde balayage put in!
Your place looks amazing! Wish I could decorate that nice 😍 hope you’ll post more interior stuff in the fall, I’m A fall lover too!
Also, I’m voting for blonder! I think it would suit you 😊
Thanks so much! 💜
I can’t wait for this weekend. I’m doing a workshop for a fall piece for the house! 😊
& thanks again!
I’m a blonde so I’ll always vote to go blonder! But my sensible side says if you’re getting your hair cut as well maybe just do some blonde face framing pieces at first? That way it’s not all of this change at once. You can get used to it being shorter and a little lighter and then take the plunge to go full on blonde later?
I also am a huge fan of the Black Cherry Merlot Bath and Body Works scent! My absolute favorite! Then Marshmallow Fireside in the winter time, and any of the fall scents really.
I have the least amount of self control when it comes to online shopping! Gotta try to stay off all of those sites, especially when there are sales. I just love the convenience of shopping from home. Have you tried ordering Whole Foods on prime now? I enjoy going into the store more but it’s a lifesaver when I don’t have time.
Hi, Shannon!
I think you’re right! I’ll probably go shorter, and then decide from there, or go blonder gradually!
Yes, I bought two of the Black Cherry Merlot candles and their melts! 💜 🍷
Ohhhh I feel ya! I feel like I’ve been doing too much of that lately! lol
Your couch is goals!
Thank you, Kels 😆
Since you blog so much Tara, do you also keep a diary or do you find that to be unnecessary?
Nope! My blog is basically my “diary” most days!
On Saturdays, I love to go to the farmers market and then spend the day doing chores around the house that I avoided all week (LOL!).
I always try to avoid going to SAMS club because I always go in for two things and come out with over $200 worth of items. Last week it was a new set of glass Tupperware containers (my 3rd set)
Most people typically go darker in the fall so I would go blonder!!
I love that you reference to the zoomies because we’ve said that about our dogs forever! Most people don’t understand what we’re talking about.
Hi, Brianna!
That sounds like a great Saturday! 😊
Hahaha that’s why I refuse to get a membership!!
Lol, that’s why I left a link because the ZOOMIES ARE REAL!!!
As much as I think your blonde hair looks great, I think that with fall around the corner you should maybe either go darker or maybe add like a caramel hue to it. I am all about FALL! I can’t wait to see what you do for autumn decorations! I love Home-goods and went yesterday, I was excited to see that they started putting out some of there Halloween stuff! I would say that I usually avoid Francesca’s, I can spend a lot of money there!
Ohhhh that would be great for fall for sure!!
I can’t wait for everything pumpkin!! I also saw that Home Goods had their fall stuff out! Can’t wait to decorate next month!
I think your hair is such a beautiful color as is! Leave it! ❤️
Thank you, Ann! 💜
Where is are your overalls from?
I shared the link below the photo 😃
Saturday mornings are for dog training at 8 am followed by homemade breakfast and the farmers market…..then napping haha. Your hair honestly looks good any color but i thought i remember you highlighting it a year or so ago and saying you didn’t like it? So….i vote gradual change 🙂 Plus, I used to highlight my hair blonde and it got blonder and blonder and i was so annoyed by the upkeep. And getting it back to natural was almost impossible ha! But, like I said, I remember you having blonde hair and it looking great and dark hair too!
Sounds like a great Saturday! We used to do our dog training early morning before they graduated!
I didn’t like the chunky highlights I had done around my face, but the balayage I have now is a bit better. Maybe I’ll go back to natural IF I CAN lol I am going to get a SERIOUS cut soon.
Brunette! I get a little antsy sometimes when growing out my hair. I love to change my hair but if I’m growing it I don’t want to cut it, so I dyed it! I just went from highlighted and light to dark brown and LOVE IT. It looks so much healthier!
True!!! I may just go with a cut and let my natural come back in!
Really enjoyed this recap post! I really want to start cooking healthier, but sometimes I just run out of ideas. I also love the fact that you play tennis. I played competitively for about five years when I was in high school, but I’m just now getting back into it. Thank you for the motivation! 🙂
Hi, Brittney!
Thanks for stopping by to read 😊
I’m SO ADDICTED to tennis. I love it and wish I could play every dang day! Love that you’re now getting back into it! 💜 A great sport to play for a workout!
What is your favorite thing to do on Saturdays? My favorite thing to do on Saturday is clean! I look forward to cleaning my house every weekend after a long week of work. Cleaning is very therapeutic to me. I then love lighting all my candles, opening a bottle of wine, snuggling with my dogs, and watch a good movie by the end of the day.
What store do you try to avoid? WAL-MART! No thank you. 🙂
Go blonder? or leave it? I love the brunette color of your hair! Especially with you not cutting it until fall, the darker color would be nice for the cooler months. However, it looks fantastic any way you style it!
Thank you for your weekly blogs! 🙂
Hi, Jenna!
I agree about cleaning being therapeutic! & yes yes yes to candles!!
& thanks for the input! I may just cut it in fall and leave it as is now! xo xo

Is that a reusable ziplock bag you had your nut bar in at tennis? I LOVE the idea of reusable ziplock bags! I’ve always thought ziplock bags are wasteful, but sometimes they’re the best and easiest thing to use.
Yes!! I bought a ton of them on Amazon and I’m obsessed! Never using a ziplock again. They are dishwasher safe too!:)
Which ones did you buy? There are so many!
Here are the ones I got!
Where? lol
lol i don’t know where my link went haha!

Oh my goodness how cute is that coffee cup scent holder?!?! I adore it. I am so ready for fall. Vancouver has been so hot and having really high humidity. I’m so over the constant sweatiness. So I loved the fall vibes in this post 🙂

I know!! I couldn’t find another online! I wanted to get another lol
I want to visit vancouver sooooooo bad!!! But maybe in the fall!! Ready for fall too…SO HOT AND HUMID HERE
I feel like the best month to visit Vancouver is October for sure. The weather is perfect for layering, but not cold. And the leaves are just stunning <3
If you ever visit here we should go hiking!
Yes! That would be amazing!!
In the summer, Saturdays are outdoors days. The beach, hiking etc. Sleeping in too:)
I try to avoid Wholefoods! I go in there “just for a few minutes,” to grab something specific and boom, I leave after an hour, with all kinds of yummy goodies that I just “need to try” or expensive skin care stuff.
My vote is not to go blonder. Beside the fact that maintenance costs a lot of money and time you have the advantage of really good hair and a very nice natural color. I know we all crave change but sometimes if it in’t broke, don’t fix it:)
Hahaha I try to avoid it too! luckily it’s 25 minutes away from me!
I’m afraid to go blonder with the condition my hair is in so I’m so torn!!!
I’d love to see pictures of your garden rock project once you’re finishing!
