Whenever the fitness instructor says “grab a resistance band” the entire class sighs because we all know class just got a little bit harder. Resistance bands will bump up your heart rate, target the hard-to-tone areas, and increase your burn during the workout! I had so much fun teaming up with Fit Simplify for this post and trying out their resistance bands. I’m still sore from the workout.
I started playing around with resistance bands during boot camp classes about a year ago. My instructor would make us do so many lunges and squats with them. One time, I ended up breaking my resistance band (it was already ripped when I put it on) and it flung off hitting the older man next to me. I couldn’t stop laughing but felt embarrassed at the same time. Luckily that won’t happen to many anymore because I have Fit Simplify high-quality resistance bands that I can use in the comfort of my home, or at the park. Fit Simplify is giving away a set of five resistance loop bands and a Fitbit Flex 2 to one lucky reader! Details for the giveaway are at the bottom of this post!
“How can I fit in a workout when I’m too tired after work and not a morning person?”
That’s one of the most frequently asked questions I get.
One person that really inspires me is my mom. She has the consistent workout routine down and has the answer to that question. She loves to wake up, have coffee, and enjoy her time before work. After work, she likes to come home, relax, and decompress. So how does she fit in her workouts? She uses her lunch hour!
She says she’s the most energetic during her lunch hour, and it’s a great way to escape from the computer. She dedicates about fifteen minutes to eat her food, and forty minutes to exercising. Sometimes she’ll walk, sometimes she’ll lift weights, and sometimes she’ll do a fun little circuit.
If you’re having a hard time fitting in some fitness, try using your lunch hour to cram thirty minutes of activity in.
If your work doesn’t have a walking area close by, or access to the gym, you may want to get your hands on some resistance bands. They can help you get a workout anywhere you go, and they are so light and compact.
Not only are resistance bands great for strength training, they are also great for stretching! I used them a lot of stretching while training for a half marathon.
The bands are easy to pack in your gym bag to increase your workout. I love the ballet exercise resistance stretch band because it helps me stretch my legs and arms after a tennis match. Stretching like a ballerina can help for all types of athletes or the average exerciser. I was born with two left feet and have no idea how to mimic the movements, but Fit Simplify includes an instruction booklet to help beginners get started! This was certainly helpful. You can also get creative and play around with your stretches too. The band also comes with a travel bag so you can bring it to the studio or with you to work.
If you can, take advantage of nature! Use a tree, a bench, a pole, or picnic table to add more exercise options.
The Fit Simplify Resistance Band Set is my favorite! We use these all the time in class instead of dumbbells. It’s crazy how much of a challenge they can be! These lightweight accessories can workout out so many muscles. They’re ideal for toning your quads, glutes, booty, abs, biceps, triceps, legs, and strengthening your knees. If you have issues with your IT band as a runner, you’ll definitely want to get your hands on these.
The bands are made from very durable 100% eco-friendly natural latex, and will last a very long time! Fit Simplify stands by their lifetime guarantee so if the bands do not work out for you for any reason, you can send them back and get a full refund. They are that confident in their product, and I think you guys will love them. They are much cheaper than monthly gym memberships or personal trainers, that’s for sure!
I mean the convenience…amazing!
These bands have been used for years and generate amazing results. I remember stealing my mom’s pastel green resistance band as a kid and pretending to workout like her. You’ll see fitness professionals and instructors use them for low impact exercises. If you’re recovering from an injury, these would be a great way to ease back into a routine safely. A lot of physical therapy programs use them.
Fit Simplify has great videos showing you how to use them! They also come with a booklet that I loved going through for ideas!
If you think squats are easy, try adding a resistance band! You’ll really be feeling the burn.
Above is the ballet exercise resistance stretch band and it’s good for stretching, leg toning, and abs!
When you order the resistance bands, you can get them in a pack to use with your friends. Next month, I have a beach trip planned with some girls and I’m bringing mine with me. It’ll be a great workout to use these on the beach!
If you do leg exercises regularly, try adding a resistance band to your routine. You’ll feel a bigger burn and see better results.
I have to admit, I can only do one pull-up without assistance. I have a strong arm when it comes to throwing things or hitting a bat, but not strong when it comes to lifting myself up.
Fit Simplify has awesome pull-up assistance bands. These are great to use at the gym, or on the playground on the monkey bars. You can watch their tutorial videos to see how they work! I’m excited to try them out at the gym tomorrow. You can also use them for basic stretches!
I especially love how inexpensive they are. You will be impressed with the prices as well. They offer free shipping and have amazing customer service if you come across any questions or issues.
Get creative with your resistance bands! Just don’t get tangled in it 😉

The resistance bands look cool!
Thanks, Karie!
Resistance bands are my FAVORITE! I love when my instructor does a workout based around them. I always feel it the next day 😂
Lol they are so ruthless! And the afterburn is so good and so bad all at the same time!
Aww I wish this giveaway was open to Canadians too 🙁
Maybe one day!!
I LOVE resistance bands! We always bring them with us when we travel since they take up zero room and then we can workout in the smallest spaces. I also use them for glute activation whenever I do leg days. They’re a game changer!
As a teacher, I have zero time to work out on my lunch break (I wish I did!), but I think it’s such a perfect time of day to get a quick one in if you can since you’re not exhausted from an entire work day.
Purple all the way!
Hi, Susie!
Love that you already bring them with you when you travel! They really are a game changer! 🙂
Yes. I remember my teachers only having like 30-minutes, or no breaks because they had to work on lunch!
But you and Ben are so good about fitting in your activities! xo xo
Very cool! I never seen loop bands, I’m intrigued. I walk on my lunch break, but would love to add some resistance training, and stretching is always a challenge. I do not use bands right now, and I love the green!
I love that you use your lunches to get some steps in! The band would be ideal for your lunch breaks 😀
I entered my email & followed the page, is that all?
Easy as that!
Entered on here and on Instagram! Cool!
Good luck!
I love the ballet pink band! I was a dancer for seven years and still use the stretches after my workouts.
I hope I win!
I love the pink band as well! So cool you were a dancer. I knew it wasn’t for me when I was going left while everyone was going right 😉
xo good luck!
I would love to win these. I am working on getting back into eating healthy and working out and I find you so inspiring. Thank you for always being so open and honest!
Thank you, Melle! That is so sweet of you 🙂
Eating healthy and working out is definitely attainable when you find something that works for you! It’s all about creating a realistic lifestyle!
Love resistance bands! I need to start bringing my own to the gym because it seems like everyone else loves them too haha I have a hard time getting my hands on one. I usually go for walks on my lunch break when it’s nice out. Luckily there’s an awesome trail only about a 2 min drive from my office! It’s a great way to escape the stress of work. My favorite way to use resistance bands is adding them to leg exercises, they really up the intensity while still being gentle on the joints.
True!! Plus who wants to use other peoples sweaty bands? NO THANKS!!!
So awesome you dedicate your time to walk! I always love fall, cooler winter days, and spring for walking. It’s 100 degrees right now, so it’s not so ideal and I’m missing it.
You’re lucky to have a trail close to your office! What a great change in scenery.
YES! I have to agree and it’s great for the IT band and you can do them on your living room floor during your fave shows! (that’s what i do lol)
I love this giveaway!
Thanks, Taralynn
Great to hear, Stephanie! Good luck 🙂
I’ve recently started using resistance bands and I’ve noticed a difference in my workouts. I try to use them as much as possible since it’s super easy to take them to the gym.
I have never worked out on my lunch break but it would save a lot of time. I just don’t know if I could fit an entire workout in…
Hi, Addison!
Yes, totally easy to take them to the gym because they’re so compact, and it’s much more sanitary to bring your own! That’s for sure 🙂
Even just twenty minutes of a workout like walking could help boost energy during the day. You don’t have to get in a big workout at all, or just do some wall sits and squats with your resistance bands! Easy as that 🙂
I don’t really have a lunch break where I can work out, because I work as a nanny! I’ve used resistance bands in the past, but stopped (not sure why)…it would be great to introduce them back into my workouts! I can’t pick one color I like…the rainbow of colors together gets me excited though!
Hi, Anna!
I feel like being a nanny is a workout alone! I’ll never forget those days lol
Glad you’re excited about the bands! xo
The pink one is adorable.
We used these in a college course last semester!
I love the pink too!:)
I hope I win!
Good luck!!
They are great for boosting the booty!
Lol yes, they are!!
I love resistance band training. I incorporate it into my weight training as warm ups and finishers to movements. I have noticed a huge difference in my glute training but utilizing them. I love any of the heavier bands, I have broken a few of the lighter weight bands.
I wish I had more time at lunch to workout; however, I do get the opportunity to leave a little early each day. I also work a block away from the gym so I enjoy walking or jogging to the gym each day.
Also, I am 100% making the muffins from your other post! 🙂
That is awesome! Such a great training tool.
Sounds like a great work location! 🙂
ENJOY THE MUFFINS! Let me know what you think! xo
I don’t really use resistance bands but I’d love to try them out and start. I don’t exercise on my lunch break but do make time to exercise almost every evening or early in the morning if I know I will be busy later in the day. I love walking and running the most. Thanks for the chance.
Good luck, Elle! Sounds like you have a great routine.
Do you burn as many or more calories than what you eat in a day? Just curious. Thanks.
I don’t keep track of any of my calories burned or calories consumed.
I love resistance bands! Thank you for introducing me to Fit Simplify!
They are great bands! 🙂
1: I don’t get a lunch break because I work part time supervising recess so I walk around for 2 hours.
2: I did in the past when I was a nautilus instructor eons ago.
3: I like all colors so I couldn’t pick but my girls say when they see the color yellow they think of me 🙂
If I won I’d share with my girls
Awww that is so cute! 🙂 Yellow is such a happy color for sure!
Do you workout on your lunch break?
I don’t workout during my lunch break because 1) it’s only a half an hour and 2) I’m at a construction site, so it is not very safe to be working out anywhere! I love the idea though.
Do you use resistance bands?
I use them sometimes at my gym, but I have always wanted to include them more in my workouts, especially as a warm up and activation before weight lifting.
What color of resistance band would you choose?
I love the bright purple!!
Yes, don’t workout on a construction site lol!
Purple is so pretty!
I walk around during my lunch break. I like the blue resistance band.
Great way to stay active during lunch!
I don’t work out on my lunch hour and I’ve never used resistance bands. I need to make some changes to my exercise plan because I’m in a rut and get bored.
I totally feel ya on the rut part! Adding those bands is a simple way to change it up!!
I don’t get a lunch break so I workout after work. I have never tried resistance bands but I have heard so many great things! I would probably choose blue!
Blue is a great color~
I am a fairly strong, petite woman and this band is great. It actually gave me some confidence to try different styles of pullups other than the classic pullup I have been doing for years to keep my upper body in shape for cross country skiing and archery! The band seems to be a sturdy material and after a few uses I’m not concerned about it snapping.
That is so cool that you’re into country skiing and archery! How awesome!!
Hey Taralynn!
I like to walk on my lunch hour! Even though nowadays, the heat index is about 101-103f. It is awful. I have never used resistance bands before, however I think the purple one would be my first choice! 🙂

Yikes!! Maybe you should be getting those walks in in the morning!! lol
Purple is a GREAT choice! xo
