Father’s Day Weekend: Golfing & Healthy Snacks!

I think my dad lives for Father’s day weekend. Everything is free and he gets to hang out with me 🙂 I wanted to squeeze in a quick post before I head out for a Father’s day weekend dinner tonight. It’s also therapeutic and a great way to relax in the air conditioner.

I was so excited yesterday because more items went up in the store. Some of you were emailing me asking if I would restock the arrow tanks and I am doing that tonight! I’ll let you know when they are available for preordering.  As of right now, I think there are only two beige tanks left in stock.

I’m also obsessed with the new tie dye dress! I’m excited to wear it to Maine next month:) I’m going to do a road trip from South Carolina to D.C. to Upstate New york, to Maine! It’s going to be a blast! I’m marking spots on the map to stop. I’ll be packing all kinds of healthy snacks though!

Last night, I decided to stay home and have a “me” night. I’ve been go go go for the past month and it felt good to just relax and watch Glee. I cried last night because it was the episode where Finn and Rachel break up before she goes to New York. I stayed up way too late watching that.

For dinner, I made a GIANT salad and had a couple squares of whole grain organic pizza from Earth Fare. I promise there were more in that photo, but I ate a couple before the pic.

My salad had iceberg, parmesan, olive oil, and allspice seasoning.

I ended up going to bed at two and needed to be awake by eight for a tee time. I was a complete zombie this morning. I didn’t get any coffee, but made a quick breakfast. I made protein smoothies and slices of whole grain toast with all natural peanut butter. I threw frozen peaches, bananas, blueberries, vanilla protein powder, ice, almond milk, and stevia into a blender. I didn’t measure, but damn was it good!

We got to the golf course at nine. It was a beautiful day! It almost looked like a fairytale.

I grabbed some snacks from the clubhouse because I knew I’d get hungry golfing eighteen holes. Thats the problem with staying up too late; a lack of sleep makes me hungrier.

I picked up some pretzels for my mom and a kashi chocolate almond and sea salt bar for myself.

“hey babe, hold my cigar”

My dad is happiest when he’s out on the course; I get it from him.

Unfortunately we hit a horrible storm! It down poured for a good ten minutes, cooled us off, and then the sun came out again.

I can’t go to a golf course without getting caught in the rain or in a sprinkler system. It’s a curse.

Around two, we hit the clubhouse for some grub. I got a wholewheat sandwich with turkey and salt and vinegar chips. We also went through 10 bottles of water today! It was hot!

Do you guys have any fun plans for Father’s day? Or for the weekend?

I’m taking my dad golfing tomorrow for Father’s Day too! I’ve never golfed so this should be interesting

  2. Taking my dad out for a nice sea food dinner! If you are heading near Kenebunkport, Maine go to Allison’s restaurant. Try the Lobster bisque..its amazing! My best friend and I always take a few days off from work during the summer to head up there!

  3. We went over to my dad’s house for Father’s Day and grilled out. My sister & I bought steaks for everyone and I made a vegetable tray and cheesy potatoes. We spent most of the day just hanging out and we did play a pretty exciting game of Yahtzee 🙂

  4. My daddy was six hours away, so I didn’t get to see him, but I was able to spend it with my Father-in-law,which was really good.
I’m excited for you with your road trip! Sounds amazing!
