BBQ Kale Chips

healthy baked kale chips

I really should eat more kale. Taking the time to wash kale, bake it, and waiting for it to cool seems like a hassle compared to just grabbing a bag of chips or popping popcorn. That’s why I decided to make a ton of kale in advance and bag it up! Now it’s available for days! I could just buy kale at the store, but it’s loaded in extra fat, preservatives and salt.

This kale has: kale, olive oil, and a homemade bbq seasoning!

Ingredients: 2 tsps brown sugar, sprinkle of sea salt & black pepper, 1/4 tsp chili powder, 1/4 tsp garlic powder, 1/4 tsp onion powder, and 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper, 2 tablespoons olive oil, 2 bags (20 cups) fresh chopped kale!

Wash the kale and throw it into a large bowl. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees.

Toss the kale and massage the leaves with the olive oil. You can also use sesame oil.

Lay it flat on a baking sheet and sprinkle all the seasoning over the top! Bake for 20-45 minutes (until crisp)

ENJOY!

If you like bbq chips, you’ll love this healthy substitute!

  7. I’m leaving for a road trip and didn’t want my big bag of kale to waste,so I’m making these! Now I’ll have something healthy to snack on for the road. Thanks for the recipe! 🙂

  8. you can do these in a microwave… in increments of 2 min. curly kale took 6.5 min…. turned out great… to keep crispy, place a silica gel packet in your bag…. can reuse the gel by putting in sunshine for an hour,,. somehow it rejuvenates itself in the sunshine
