First Night At Iberostar: Puerto Plata, DR

After diving into some tasty grub at Fresh Fresh Cafe, we headed over to our new resort, Iberostar Costa Dorada. It was right down the road from our first place, Casa Colonial.

Our first resorts were very luxurious and fancy. This resort was more laid back and “vacation-y.” I loved the poolside, beach bum, and fun colored feel to the resort. This is the kind of place you’d want to go with friends to have some fun. There were several groups of Spring Breakers who looked like they were having a great time with the all inclusive drinks if you know what I mean!

When we got there, the hotel staff greeted us with refreshing pina coladas.

The drinks reminded me of Sex and the City the movie when the girls go to Mexico after Carrie’s “wedding.” Did you hear they are filming a Sex and the City 3? I hope that’s not a rumor! I miss those ladies! I still watch all the episodes on E!

The pool was incredible. It was giant! It had a bar, a hot tub, and separate little pools around it. The pool area had ping pong, workouts, volleyball, basketball, and tons of other activities.

The resort was gorgeous and had tons to see. It had stores, multiple restaurants, entertainment areas, a spa, a gym, sitting areas, bars, and paths to walk.

After walking by the pool, there were a couple of walkways that lead straight to the gorgeous beach waters. The hotel also had a beach bar. This hotel reminded me of the place I used to stay while living in Hawaii.

This was the view from my room. All the rooms had a balcony.

Later that evening, we all met up for dinner at the hotel’s Brazilian Steakhouse, El Rodizio.

They had a wonderful salad bar. I had their house vinaigrette with vegetables, figs, a tuna cake, and cheese.

After the salad, they come around the table slicing you different meats. The also serve the dinner with a baked potato, a bruschetta bread, and corn on the cob.

They sliced us steak, chicken, shrimp, and pork. The chicken and steak were my favorites.

They had a giant dessert bar too. Those chocolate balls in the right hand corner were the favorite of the tables.

After dinner a couple of us went to the entertainment area at the hotel to have a mojito and watch the karaoke! We were all exhausted so we called it a night around eleven. We had a big day in the morning!

    1. holy crap! That is the hotel i was referring to in the post!! It’s right now to the Hilton! We would go there every single Sunday to swim, have the snow cones, and the morning chocolate glazed donuts lol. I loved that place! When we first moved to Hawaii, we didn’t have a house yet, and so we lived at the Hale Koa for a month!

  8. In downtown Columbus Ohio there is actually a Rodizio as well and it’s almost exactly the same as what you showed! How cool!

  9. The trip sounds like a blast, but it also sounds exhausting! I would have been so tempted to lay around by the pool all day!…and that IS a fantastic pool!

And now I want a fruity, girly, frozen cocktail 😉
