Better late than never, but here is Sunday’s grub! It was absolutely gorgeous Sunday, close to 70 degrees! After church, we always go out for breakfast. It’s kind of tradition. I didn’t want this new lifestyle to get in the way and so I went to Stacks. The thing about eating healthy is that it has to be doable and you can’t take away the things you love most, and I love Sunday breakfasts.

I ordered the usual, egg white omelet, fruit, hash browns, and wheat toast. I gave my has browns to Dominic, Nick’s little brother, and half of my toast to Nick. I ate the egg white omelet, fresh fruit, and 1/2 slice whole wheat toast.

Nick ordered the egg’s Benedict on a homemade biscuit and said it was the best egg’s Benedict he’s ever had. It was his first time trying Lox too. When I worked at a cafe in high school, we used to make a tomato basil bagel with lox, and cream cheese.

After breakfast, we went back uptown to nicks. I did a light little walk and then headed back to Nick’s parents to catch up on the show Stalker. It’s our show.

How cute were Grumples and Luke?:)

Nick left to go to the Hornets game and so I hung out with his parents for the rest of the night. I was too cozy to leave and so I worked from there. Nick’s dad made dinner and it was fantastic! He made his potato and sausage dish, sweet potato fries, rotisserie chicken, and tossed salad.

  1. I love Stacks! I live about an hour from Waxhaw. Every time we drive up to Charlotte, we stop in for a nice breakfast! I love our posts taralynn

  2. I’m very much an egg person and I lo’ve eggs Benedict!

I don’t know if you go to church or anything like that, Tara, but I think Sunday mornings when you go out to eat you could chill out and read the bible or any book while you’re at it. 🙂

  3. Oh I love Sunday breakfast sooo much as well! I have been getting back to eating healthy since the start of this month too, and have been doing very well and actually enjoying it! I have allowed myself to have a (very freshly made, organic) pizza last week though because it is my favourite meal and I really don’t want to deprive myself of that! Thanks for the inspiration Tara- I am doing this with you – 100%! 🙂

    1. You go girl! & that pizza sounded delicious. That is my weakness and its been 9 days since biting into a slice of pizza! I should make a healthy one with veggie crust this weekend!

  4. I completely agree with you…you can’t take away the things you love the most when trying to clean up your diet. If you do, I feel like you are setting yourself up for failure.

  5. I love going out to Breakfast. Any time my husband and I have a day off, we get up extra early to go to the gym and then out to breakfast. It is one of my favorite things to do and something I look forward to the few times our schedules align! Veggie omelets are my favorite!! 🙂

  6. Hi! Longtime reader, first time commenter. I hope this isn’t terribly nosy of me, but after this long I JUST found your “about me” page. I never realized you struggled with an eating disorder in the past! As someone with a major family history of the same (seriously, my mom’s side of the family can be a little scary sometimes), and who keeps serious tabs on her own attempts to lose weight (it can be so hard not to go too far), I’m always curious about how recovered people manage their own weight loss attempts. Is it ever hard to keep the focus on health instead of calories and pounds? I know that personally, going to a nutritionist and seeing the basics of “what you need” broken down for me helped (and dispelled a lot of the misconceptions my extended family had put on me about “bad carbs,” “bad sugar,” “bad fat”…you get the idea), but I know not everyone has the means to do that. So, I guess what I’m asking is…how do you DO it? Because, I mean, that’s not vague or stereotyped at all, right? 😉 Really though, I’d love to hear how you manage it from day to day. Little things like that always gives me a better outlook dealing with my extended family’s issues.

  7. Let’s go on a breakfast date! 🙂
