I still have a lot of Detroit photos to upload, but I’m going to fast forward to the road trip home. I left Detroit around noon after browsing the Eastern Market on Thursday. My parents were on their way to Ohio, and so I wanted to meet up with them at the same time.
I kind of retreat buying the Java Monster Coffee + Energy because I know how bad it is for you. Even though it’s only 50 calories, it’s heavy on the artificial additives. I only took a coupe of sips because it wasn’t that great. The gas stations didn’t have the Starbucks ones, so I was stuck with the Monster.
I spent most of the trip reading my book. It’s so so so fascinating. A lot of things are starting to make sense.
I picked up some fresh roasted no salt added pumpkin seeds at the historic eastern market for the trip.
I am going to make chocolate covered pumpkin seeds when I get back.
We got hungry later in the trip and stopped at sonic. I did’t plan on stopping for food or fast food, but we got stuck behind a lot of construction and the trip ended up being way longer than expected.
When I asked for “mustard”, she must have heard me say “mozzarella sticks’, because these landed in my sack.
I ordered the grilled chicken wrap without sauce. I didn’t eat the entire tortilla because it was big enough to make at least three wraps. Sonic should start offering whole grain wraps. 🙂
I got back to Ohio around 3:30 and met up with my parents!:) We made healthy lasagna for dinner! You can find the recipes here.
That lasagna looks absolutely delicious! If it weren’t 9AM here, I’d totally make it right now. (I don’t think my family would like lasagna for breakfast. LOL!)

That just gave me an amazing idea! BREAKFAST LASAGNA!
LOVE Eastern Market!! I always feel like a kid in a candy store at Rocky’s & Germack 🙂
Chocolate covered pumpkin seeds sounds delicious!!
I’ve always wondered this about you: Is blogging your job? If so, I’m jealous. You blog is amazing <3
I am really excited to hear about you ghost research and also about why you think that your apartment is haunted. That topic always interests me. I also have a question, how come instead of buying that gross Monster, (I hate Monster myself), you got a different drink at the gas station? A sugar-free lemonade or ginger ale? (That’s what I get to drink besides water on trips). Just curious!
Hi I love your blog! Whenever I go on road trips I always drink lots of water! I have not seen any posts on your blog about the importance of drinking water, or maybe I just haven’t come across one yet because you’ve ben blogging for so long! lol. Do you have any tips for getting enough water in during the day?
I do 🙂 It’s right here http://simplytaralynn.com/2012/05/15/water-hydration-plan/
I really like the idea of garlic pita bread! I’ve seen you post about it twice this week and it really looks yummy 🙂
