Doggy Run & Post Workout Treats!

The sun isn’t out today, but it’s still a beautiful day. The weather is cool, the leaves are falling, and the air is crisp and fresh. I think Fall is slowly arriving. The weather has been way too hot for Grumples lately and his walks have been short. Now that it’s getting cooler, he gets extra time outside and gets to join me on my runs.

Every fall, we start to build his milage back up. Like us humans, we have to build our miles up after taking some time off. Same goes for Mr. Grumples.

So today, we ran 2 miles together and walked the last one. He did great! He didn’t even slow down or stop. I chose to make him quit.

Ever since he was a puppy, he’s always drank water from the bottle. It’s the cutest thing! I always take water on our runs.

After the run, he sat outside and let me torture him with my Lions hat!

When we got inside, I gave him a post doggy workout treat. You can buy the digester healthy ice cream treats in the freezer section at most grocery stores.

Grumps carried it to the couch and made himself comfortable.

While Grumps ate his snack, I made one of my favorites. A rice cake with honey, peanut butter, and almonds!

Honey and peanut butter is 10x better than peanut butter and jelly. If you haven’t tried the combo, you must!

Now, it’s time for me to go get ready for the Lions Game with friends tonight! (They’re all NYG fans) This will be fun!
