Afternoon Pick Me Up: Coffee & a Wrap

I rely on afternoon pick me ups to get me through the day. By the time two o’clock rolls around, I’m hungry, want to nap, and ready to quit all of my work. Sometimes ,all a girl needs is a caffeinated drink and a damn sandwich! I had been going to the cafe up the road and spending almost $10 everyday on my latte’s and lunch. I finally got smart and decided to buy all the ingredients so I could make my own. That way, I don’t waste time leaving the place, I save money, and it’s faster.

Above is a drink my friend, Sealy, got me hooked one. Remember a couple weeks ago, I went to Cast Iron Waffles? They sell the cold espresso in bottles which was used in the drink above with almond milk and a packet of Stevia.

The wraps I usually buy at the cafe have hummus, tomato, turkey, mustard, and lettuce wrapped in a tomato basil wrap.

I can make about six wraps under $20 dollars. Start rethinking your lunches!

What is your favorite afternoon pick me up?

Hi Taralynn. Love this. I just wanted to share with you the Thrive experience by Le-vel. I felt the same way until I started taking the 3 simple steps when I wake up. I feel abs0amazing all do no caffeine no naps. My kids love their new energetic Mom. Feel free to contact me with questions.

I agree- I definitely need a pick me up to keep me from my late night snacking. However, if you snack at night (I had some peanut butter and Cheerios an hour ago before bed) what is your strategy the next morning? Also, how do you keep yourself from those late night binges, even when you eat through out the day? I can’t go to sleep too hungry but don’t like feeling dull either. I would love to hear your suggestions!

That wrap looks delicious! I have been making a lot of my own iced coffees recently and I am saving a fortune on Starbucks.

I make this every morning! I make a ton of espresso on Monday morning and refrigerate it for the next few days. You can get a KRUPS espresso maker pretty cheap and make your own ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s also super yummy with a little vanilla extract!

Oh, the iced coffee looks heavenly! I must try it because I probably spend much too many on Starbucks! (addict :).

Taralynn! I love your blog! I’ve been following you for a while and find it so inspiring that you chose to “do you” lately! It’s so refreshing to see someone who has enough courage and gumption to go after what they truly want in life. I commend you!!

Anyway! I wanted to know if you (or anyone) knows where you bought the tomato basil tortilla wrap?

    Thanks! <3

I just had a cup of lemon ginger tea and some air-popped popcorn. It was much needed, but I still could go for a nap in the sunshine just about now ๐Ÿ˜›

I’m on an apples with cheese kick, and maybe some sliced turkey. Good pre-work out fuel!

Oh I love having almond milk in my coffee!

I usually snack on nuts (cashews are one of my favorties) and berries for an afternoon pick me up!

I like having snow peas, carrots, chips, or yogurt as my afternoon snack. I also like coffee with some soy or almond milk ๐Ÿ™‚ That’s normally when I’m in school!
