I love Sundays, but love successful Sundays even more. To me, a successful Sunday starts with early morning mass, breakfast, and a day filled with friends and good food! Today was all of that. After mass, I went to breakfast with Glen. Glen is up here in Charlotte working on a construction project while his wife is down in Florida. She called and wanted me to get him out of the apartment, so I thought breakfast would be a good start! I’ve known Glenn for a while now. I met him while I was living in Valdosta GA.
I took him to the Broken Egg Cafe. It’s really close to me and has great coffee! I ordered the Skinny Omelet again, but this time and them put cheddar on it instead of the goat cheese. I wasn’t feeling the goat cheese last time. The omelet is on the healthy menu. It comes with fruit and an english muffin.
Around noon, I met up with Sealy to run some errands. We headed to Waxhaw to stop and grab some local eggs. I had forgotten all about them at the farmers market yesterday.
While we were there, we decided to split an eclair. I mean…how do you say no to that?
We split that eclair right down the middle…
It was filled with a cream cheese based eclair filling. I liked it, but it was incredibly rich! I’m also not a huge fan of cream cheese fillings, but it didn’t stop me from scarfing it down.
After leaving the local market (Provisions) we walked around the antique shop next door. I love going in there and looking at everything. It never gets old. After running our errands, I went for a walk with the pups!
Sunday’s are meant for relaxing. What relaxes me? Baking! So, I made some pies for the friends. If you go to the search box on the top of my blog and type in apple pie, you’ll find my recipe!
Sealy and I headed over to some friends house for dinner. It was nice watching all the men take over and cook. They made grilled chicken, asparagus, guacamole, spinach salad, and brown rice. I was impressed 😉
After dinner, we all sat around eating pie, drinking coffee, and watching the Yankee’s game. Coffee and dessert go together like peanut butter and jelly.
And that is why I LOVE successful Sundays.
If you like antiques, you should check out The Sleepy Poet on South Blvd! You can get lost in there for hours!
Coffee and pie are a match made in heaven!
Nothing related to this blog post or anything, but I’m soooooooo surprised that you are living in North Carolina, have all these great girlfriends and have yet to post about a trip to MYRTLE BEACH?!
It’s kind of a “must-do” when you are in your 20s and living in the Carolinas! 😉 If it sounds like its too much, go to the Outer Banks. Take one of the tours in Corolla (pronounced “Ko-ral-ah”) to see the wild horses on the beach! 🙂
But if you do make a trip down to MB, make sure you post about it ahead of time. Locals (and visitors!) can give you some great tips! 🙂
Are you a Yankees fan? They’re my absolute favorite team, besides my hometown team the Mariners. 🙂
This Sounds really like a Perfect sunday! 🙂
I love the palm shorts! 😀
I eat at Another Broken Egg ALL the time! It is by far my favorite breakfast place in Charlotte. I would love to run into you sometime! Not to sound creepy, but I’ve followed your blog for a couple of years now (always living in Raleigh & going to NCSU). I’m now living in Charlotte for the summer, and don’t know many people so if you would like a walking/workout buddy I’d love to meet up sometime!
