After our hike yesterday afternoon, we were starving. Especially since Grumples ate most of my breakfast. We let my GPS pick out a place to eat. We drove several miles to Bessemer City, North Carolina to eat at Whiskey Mill Bar & Grill. I usually hate my gps and cuss her out, but this time she got a pat on the back.
First, they won me over by having crabby patties on the menu. As a fan of Spongebob Squarepants, I can respect that.
I ordered their grilled chicken & shrimp salad. I have had some incredible salads lately. I keep saying they won’t get better but they do. First it was Wild Wings, then the cafe in Waxhaw, and now Whiskey Mill Bar & Grill! It was phenomenal and a great post hike treat.
Samantha ordered the bbq pulled pork. She said the food was great as well, so if you’re ever stuck in Bessemer City, you might want to stop there for some grub!

That doesn’t seem like enough food for a full day of hiking, or even for a day without activity 🙁

It’s just one meal. It’s not the only thing I had eaten.

Ah I definitely shouldn’t be assuming! I just figured two bites of oatmeal for breakfast, a long hike, then salad for dinner. Reading too much into things I guess. Sorry girl

That salad was just an early lunch. I had dinner out later in the night with the girls! I understand your concern and you are right that would be way too little for an entire day of activity. I also had a Quest bar and a banana before that hike of mine. I wouldn’t have been able to make it that far on zero fuel! xo
