Six Miles & Yummy Food!
The rainy morning made me want to cuddle up and do nothing today! Unfortunately, I have way too much to do and get ready for. I didn’t feel like packing the rest of the place, so I chose to go to the gym instead. I always get a burst of energy and motivation after I workout. I did a comfortable six miles today while catching up on my celebrity gossip that benefits my life in no way whatsoever!
I got a lot done yesterday, but still have a lot to go! I didn’t feel like cooking, so Jeremy ordered a pizza. I’ll never trust his pizza choice again. He ordered buffalo chicken…yuck. One slice was enough for me. I’m into the classic red sauce, cheese, and garlic crust. I had leftover rotisserie chicken and sweet potato with it. I topped my night with a beer because it’s the traditional moving beverage.
After the gym this afternoon, I stopped at Nino Salvaggio’s to pick up fresh healthy food! Our kitchen has been packed away, so this was convenient. I only have the bedroom to pack up today, memberships to cancel, the living room to pack up, and all the post cleaning to do! Oh and don’t worry, that boyfriend of mine is getting his hands dirty, too!
The movers will be here at 9:30 tomorrow morning and then we are going to take off to Chicago, pick up all of our things at our unit there and take them to Iowa. Jeremy’s parents have a huge garage on their farm and they are going to let us store our things there until we get our next place. The stay in South Carolina is going to be about 3-4 months and we don’t want to take everything there. It’s too much! We also have a lot of things we’ve collected over the years that I want to get rid of in a garage sale, so I’ll be going through a lot of the stuff while I’m in Iowa. I can honestly say I am so ready for some stability. I’m so tired of moving BUT it’s for the best and I know it’ll be worth it in the end.
I grabbed several salads, some grilled chicken, and roasted vegetables to mix and match.
I gave Jeremy the taco salad and I had the grilled chicken caesar salad.
I added some mandarin oranges, dried cherries, roasted vegetables, croutons, pecans, and chicken to the bowl with my caesar salad. It was delicious and a great way to recover from a great workout!

I’ve been reading your blog now for a while – love it! Can’t wait to hear what you think about South Carolina – I’ve lived in Charleston my whole life and can’t imagine living anywhere else!
Thanks, Tiffany! I’m so excited to explore South Carolina. I’ll be making several trips to Charleston and the surrounding area to explore!
I was JUST in Charleston! It’s so pretty and rich in history! A definite must-go place.
It all looks delicious! I’ve recorded myself to buy to prepare such a wonderful salad. And we are looking forward to trip information and new photos! Good luck road!
I hope you got my letter inviting your site translation into Russian for your readers.

Hey Tara, I live in Surprise, AZ and in my opinion besides Quiznos and my kitchen , the best place to get a salad would be a place called Greenmix, located at2160 E Baseline Rd
Phoenix, AZ 85042
Phone number (602) 268-8228
they also have yummy green wraps there as well, I hope this isnt to far for you and i hope i helped:)
Where in South Carolina are you moving? I just visited Charleston (LOVED IT) and Myrtle Beach (also very nice but I love the small town feel of Charleston)!
It’s funny, I don’t live anywhere near you but it seems like we are always having the same weather! Rainy day here, too. Blah!!!
Have you watched America the Beautiful on Netflix? If not, you should check it out! All about body imagine and stuff. One of those ones that really makes you think. Totally goes along with your message that we are all beautiful!
Hope everything goes good for u tomorrow!
I am wondering your advice on something. I have difficulty eating healthy (mostly fruits, veggies, and lean proteins) and not constantly losing weight because I run so much. I don’t run an extreme amount but because I try to also eat cleanly, my body just doesn’t get enough calories and thus I continuously lose weight when I don’t want to. How do you run for 6 miles, eat cleanly, and not lose weight? I can’t seem to reach the balance.
I just make sure to eat back off of those calories including my normal intake. If I ran 6 miles, that’s about 600-700 extra calories I’ll intake. I usually fit them in with foods like nuts, seeds, protein shakes, protein bars, avocado, nut butters, dark chocolate, yogurt, oats, and other high calorie, good for you foods! Keep your protein intake up to repair and build muscle.
ive just come across your page and im in love i have a couple of question is special k cereal healthy and if it isn’t do you have a delicious and healthy cereal you eat? same thing with skinny cow ice cream some say they are healthy some say they are not when i searched it up? lastly is it good to count calories or just eat as healthy as possible ? thank you
This is going to sound out of the subject, but… could you tell me how you create your cool presentations ? I mean, the colorful “bubbles”, the writings and what do you use to edit all that? Thanks !
PS: This looks absolutely yummy, i’m really looking forward a shop selling those cool salads pre-made and add my own touch to it.
I love that you don’t run super fast, it makes me feel like I can do it too and my pace is good enough. Thanks for keeping it real.
taralynn i have a question — even if i run 4-5 miles a day i usually only burn at most 350 cals! i usually run at a speed of 7-8 on the treadmill with a 1.5 incline. is there a reason why i burn so little compared to you or other people? (i use a polar watch too so i know it’s fairly accurate)
It’s all about your weight, height and how in shape you are. The more you get used to running, your heart rate won’t go up as high. If you want to burn more calories and raise that heart rate, try putting your treadmill at an incline while increasing and decreasing your speeds. If you don’t burn many calories, it just means youre in shape!
Thanks Taralynn! Hope your move is going well!
Haha you’re like me with the Pizza. My friend ordered a thin crust pizza with pineapple the other day and I was just like what is this? I mean if you’re going to get pizza get it without the pineapple and a classic crust because I’m not at all hateful with thin crust, but I knew where he ordered from had the worst thin crust pizza. End of story. In the mean time dang those salads look good I wish Los Angeles weren’t so expensive when it comes to buying salads like that. I swear it’s like 15 bucks per salad when they look that good here ahh well at least I save money making my own.
You motivate me so much to eat and have healthy lifestyle! Reading your story and blog posts really motivate me to do same 🙂
