Laptop Lunches is working hard at putting together a month’s worth of healthy lunch ideas all around 500 calories. Hopefully you will be inspired to create your own healthy lunches for your New Years resolution or weight loss goals.

Why 500 Calories? It’s easy to overeat, but also easy to under-eat. If you know the amount of calories that are in your meals, it’ll be easier to avoid under eating and overeating. Both will stop you from weight loss goals. If you under eat, you will damage your metabolism, put yourself in harm, and slow your weight loss goals. Talk to your doctor about how many calories you should be consuming per day before jumping into a new weight loss plan.
*Before you go grocery shopping for your lunches, create a plan.
-It’s okay to be repetitive. It helps food from going bad.
Cottage Cheese, Strawberries, Almond Butter, Quest Bar, Jelly, Hummus, Crackers, Whole Wheat Bread.
Cut out coupons, keep in mind which fruits and vegetables are in season, and shop at your local farmer’s market.
Lettuce, Whole Grain Bread, Whole Grain Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies, Light Mayo, Honey Ham, Turkey Breast, Yogurt.
Choose your vegetable, fruit, snack, and protein. Instead of buying pint of strawberries, buy them in bulk to eat throughout the week. This will cut your cost. Do the same with your vegetables.
Whole Wheat Bread, Chicken Salad, Strawberries, Cookie, Hummus, Cucumber
-Remember that dinner leftovers can be incorporated into your lunches the next day.
Foods that last all week for a small budget :
-Hard boiled eggs, Cottage Cheese, Bulk Fruit, Bulk Vegetables, Loaf of Bread, Lunch Meat, Chicken Breast, Granola Bars, Hummus or Dips, Baked Goods prepared on Sunday night, Crackers, Peanut Butter, Jelly, Yogurt, etc.
Crackers, Cucumber, Strawberries, Apple, Chicken Salad, Cookies.
A lunch for veggie haters.
Crackers, Potato Salad, Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookies, Orange, Organic Lollipop, Turkey Meat.
Moderation is KEY.
Cucumber, Sunflower Seed Butter, Hummus, Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookie, Potato Chips, Whole Wheat Bread, Strawberries.

Healthy options are not always available. Not everyone has control over what groceries go into their kitchens either. That is why moderation is the key in those situations. Pay attention to the labels and eat the correct serving size. It’s easy to scoop extra peanut butter, or grab a handful of chips, but that can easily add 300 calories on top of your meal, and that won’t help you reach your goal. That is why Weight Watchers work for so many people living in households that don’t scream “healthy lifestyle.”
Above is a lunch I put together that requires moderation and reading the labels. It has mini Oreos, kettle chips, peanut butter, jelly, whole grain bread, and an apple.
