Moving to Detroit scared me at first. I was afraid to face the cold winter after being spoiled in the Georgia heat. Something deep inside of me must have changed, because I am truly enjoying the snowy nights and winter days. It makes cuddling up to a cup of hot chocolate so much more enjoyable. I only have a month and a half left to enjoy Michigan, but I know I’ll miss it.
I decided to finish up my Christmas shopping yesterday, so I headed out into the snow for a 30 minute drive to the mall. I walked around the mall for several hours and left with nothing but a latte. I get pretty overwhelmed with Christmas shopping. I had a couple items in my hands, waited in line, then left because lines drive me insane! I can’t wait longer than ten minutes to buy something. I need to stick to the online thing.
Oh and I posted my outfit of the day (some of you requested more) on Instagram
Lately, I have been craving salads. I know it’s weird because of the cold weather. This one above had 2 hard boiled eggs, sweet peas, dried cranberries, romaine lettuce, cucumber, and tuna wrapped in a flax-seed flatout.
After driving back from the mall, I decided to take Grumples out in the snow to enjoy it. He absolutely loves the cold weather and catching snowflakes on his tongue.
I remember when all of the grass and plants were bright green. It feels like yesterday. Now everything is frozen solid and brown.
I live on Lake St. Clair, but you wouldn’t be able to tell with all of the snow. It just looks like miles and miles of fields covered in snow. I could probably walk to Canada.
This is the same dock on Lake St Clair. Proof that there is in fact a lake underneath it all!
Sometimes it’s nice to get out and enjoy the weather; even if it’s not ideal. I still think fluffy and light snow is the best.
My favorite moment was when Grumps just stopped and stared at the snowflakes as they fell from the sky. It’s fascinating to watch a dog observe the ordinary as if it’s unordinary.
We had a fun snow date running around outside. I’ can’t get enough of this guys prancing around int he snow. He doesn’t run like most dogs; he looks more like a horse.
And he blends in with the snow perfectly when he’s bathed! Which is what we will be doing later on today!
I’m a tad sad, tho! This was once a weeping willow tree. It was struck with lightening and now it’s a tree with bears carved in. It’s pretty cool, but I love the willows!
I used to love sitting out here and watching the fisherman during the summer. I’d bring my dinner and just spend hours staring at the water or sunsets.
Now you just see white.
After finishing the laundry and cleaning, I whipped up some Oreo balls
They usually force me to make them when they’re in town.
