NEW HAIR & MORE!
It’s been such a great week and I’m sad to be heading back to Charlotte tomorrow, but I need to in order to get work done. I still have a ton of photos to post from my day out yesterday. I hope you’re not sick of my photos yet, and thank you for letting me share them with you. Your feedback has been awesome and inspires me to keep learning.
The past couple of days, I have been been eating eggs, cereal, and toast for breakfast. I didn’t get a chance to go out for breakfast anywhere, but I’m OK with eating at home too. I like to drizzle a little honey for sweetness on my cereal and toast. I cooked my eggs like normal with the egg, cream, garlic, pepper, and cheese.
After breakfast, Grumples and I have been going on long walks on the nature trails. Luckily I haven’t seen a alligator yet. I’m deathly afraid of gators and sharks. I’d rather hang out with snakes.
I promised to share what I did with my hair. I went to Lordis Loft Salon & Spa an Aveda concept salon on King Street in Charleston. I had a haircut & finish, and a botanical conditioning treatment. I had seven inches taken off it looks so much healthier. I need to remind myself to get a cut and treatment every two months. I always want long hair, but it’s not worth it if it’s not healthy!
Here is what a botanical therapy treatment does! (information from Aveda)
My mom got her hair done too! She got four inches off and a treatment as well 🙂 I love the Aveda salons. First, they make you shut your eyes, take three deep breaths of some kind of oil, and then they give you a scalp massage! It’s so relaxing!
This afternoon, I worked out on the bike! I did 11.5 miles while being chased by dinosaurs. I also put in an application to a school and got all the fun paperwork out of the way 🙂
My Dad and I cleaned my car this morning and I bought an organizational bin for my trunk. I have golf clubs, gloves, a bat, golf balls, volleyballs, and basketballs back there!
I’m going to spend the rest of my night relaxing with my parents and editing some photos from yesterday. My mom is making homemade chicken and rice soup and I’m making homemade salad and dressing.

I love your blog! I’ve been reading it for years 🙂 Where are you applying to school and what for? Thats so exciting! Im currently getting my masters, and the paper work for applying was the worst!

I just had 8 inches cut off of my hair a few weeks ago. My hair was pretty much the same length as yours. Doesn’t your head feel so much lighter?! Haha
Taralynn McNitt says
lol yes!!

You are going back to school? Whaaat? I’m in shock!! I assumed blogging took up most of your time. What will you be studying? Will you be a full-time or part-time student? Please tell us more!! Congrats!
PS – I read your blog to procrastinate doing my school work which I really should be doing now. 🙂
Natalie says
Please tell me you’re going to study Dietetics or Nutrition?!
Taralynn McNitt says

Natalie says
Well whatever if is in sure you’ll succeed!
Taralynn McNitt says
Thanks! I’ll announce it soon 😉

I don’t know what I would do if I ever got a bob. I’ve had one before and let me tell you, it was a hassle getting into a pony tail for working out. So glad I outgrew it, but I sure miss the look.

I know you are loving Charlotte but North Carolina State University is a great school! You should atleast visit raleigh at some point. Although, we took my neice to the American girl doll store in Charlotte and stopped by the Concord Mills mall and I was amazed Charlotte is beautiful! I’ve also stayed in downtown Charlotte with my dad for work and it’s much better than downtown Raleigh!

I just had a fresh chop yesterday! I have loong hair as well and want to make a point of getting in for the occasional trims to keep it at it’s best! My stylist recommended using Moroccan Oil between visits as well (http://www.amazon.com/Moroccan-Hair-Treatment-Bottle-Blue/dp/B001AO0WCG)

I use that too! 🙂

I use coconut oil on my hair. Melt it in my hands then apply it to my hair. Leave on for 20 min then wash twice. It’s made a huge difference in the dryness of my hair. Have you tried it?
Taralynn McNitt says
yup! I mix in eggs too!

Your hair looks great! I did a major cut a few months ago and the craziest part was when I showered for the first time and so much of my hair was missing 🙂
How did you like your workout on that bike? My gym has bikes like those but I’ve been too shy to give them a try!
Also – I used the seasonings you use in your scrambled eggs yesterday and they were AMAZING! Life = changed.
Taralynn McNitt says
hahaha i went through that too! Imagine how much money I’ll save on shampoo and condition! CHA CHING!
I like those bikes but the only crappy thing is that you can’t stand up and ride like you do in spin class 🙁 It got frustrating. SO SO SO Glad you liked the eggs!:)

I just had 12 inches of my hair cut off and I love it, its so much easier to do. Thanks for the great blog, I love your great recipes and workout ideas!
Taralynn McNitt says
Thanks Madison! 12 inches? WOAH BRAVE!! Your hair must have been so long! Did you get the chance to donate it?
Madison Larson says
My hair came down to my waist so it was really long. Unfortunately I didn’t because I got brave in sections. I cut it a total of three times in about a five week period. First with five inches then with four then three, and I think the minimum amount they accept is six inches. I really wish I would have though!
Livi @ Eat, Pray, Work It Out says
What types of schools are you applying to??
Taralynn McNitt says
Just a regular university in SC
Amber says
Great post! Good luck with the schools[:

Grumples looks great and I`m so glad he`s doing much better than before. 🙂
Taralynn McNitt says

CofC maybe? It’s a bit of a party school, but pretty beautiful! I just moved to Charleston from Charlotte for medical school. I miss Charlotte city life, but at least Charleston has its own unique character to offer.
Taralynn McNitt says
I already chose the school near me 🙂 It has the perfect program for what I want to study! But, I agree about Charleston!

It’s always so refreshing to get dead ends chopped off! If you’re in the market for a daily hair treatment, I wear by Kerastase. I am currently using the rose gold one, but every single one is miraculous and luxurious. It completely turned my damaged, heat styled hair around!

I’ll have to look into it! You have gorgeous hair!

That software on the cycle looks so fun – I wish my gym had something like this. They have TV, but usually I just opt to show the stats and focus on the podcast or music on my iPhone instead.
Also, I cannot believe all the stuff you keep in your trunk at all times – seems like you should be a PE teacher! haha. But seriously playing outdoors is the funnest way to exercise. My daughter and me play kickball and an hour can just fly by!
Tess says
You could be a freaking model.

You have inspired me to get my haircut!
