Spiced Orange Cranberry Sauce Recipe
The first time I met my mother-in-law was almost ten years ago, during Thanksgiving in Florida. That holiday, she served the most incredible spiced orange cranberry sauce, and I’ve been making it ever since! It’s become a staple at our Thanksgiving table, and every time I make it, it brings back those warm, special memories of our first holiday together.
I have to give all the credit to her for this delicious spiced orange cranberry sauce recipe!

Spiced Orange Cranberry Sauce
Ingredients
- 6 Cups Fresh Cranberries
- 1 1/2 Cups Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice
- 1/2 Cup Honey (or replace with sugar)
- 1/2 Cup Sugar (or replace with honey)
- 3 Tbsps Orange Zest
- 3-4 Cinnamon Sticks
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine cranberries, orange juice, honey, sugar, orange zest, and cinnamon sticks. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Once boiling, reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 10–12 minutes, or until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat and let the sauce cool completely. Remove the cinnamon sticks.Garnish with orange peels, rosemary, thyme, and cinnamon sticks!
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2–5 days. I make this days before Thanksgiving to save time on the big day!
I always double this recipe—not only because everyone loves it, but also to ensure I have leftovers for the next day. My absolute favorite way to use the extra cranberry sauce is in my Orange Cranberry Almond Cake, which is the perfect post-Thanksgiving treat! Oh, and even my blueberry muffin recipe can be made with the cranberry sauce inside! I could go on for days, but how about adding a bowl of this cranberry sauce on the side of a charcuterie board?
Oranges and cranberries are two fruits that were just meant to be soulmates. Their bright, tangy flavors complement each other so perfectly that this sauce feels like a celebration of their love.
I honestly can’t think of a single thing on my Thanksgiving plate that wouldn’t pair beautifully with this Spiced Orange Cranberry Sauce—even the mac and cheese gets an upgrade with a little dollop on the side!
