I have so many photos from our spring adventures I want to share on the blog. I hope to get a few published soon, especially the latest recap I’ve been working on. Now that strawberry season is heading out the door and peach season is making its way in, I thought I’d share some photos from a recent trip to our favorite local farms and shops.
Our first stop on our little outing day was The McGill Store in Clover. This spot is so cute and rustic; they make some incredible lattes! I ordered the honey latte, and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since. I’m excited to stop out later this week to have another while we pick up peaches in the area. I like using all local farm produce when making desserts for the farmer’s market.
The Five Blossoms Flower Farm had its Blossom Bar parked with the most gorgeous flowers. I will post photos from our tulip trip out there in March! The farm is stunning, and I love seeing the growth. The owners have now become friends, and they inspire me so much! We collaborated on a Mother’s Day gift bundle this month, and I look forward to doing more!
We made bouquets for Mom and lemon olive oil cakes with berry citrus mascarpone buttercream topped with candied oranges, fresh fruit, and edible flowers from the Five Blossoms Flower Farm!
On our next stop, we stopped by the Peach Tree Orchard for fresh produce and groceries! My son had so much fun picking out produce and putting it into the basket. I planned to make roasted tomato soup that night, so we grabbed fresh tomatoes, onions, potatoes, and some strawberries.
I love strawberry season!
We decided to play hooky from a nap and stop by Bush-N-Vine to go strawberry picking! We didn’t do this last year because he was so little, but this was the perfect age to have fun running around the strawberry fields!
At first, he just wanted to pick the green ones, but then he got the hang of it! He was having so much fun.
It was really cool because small planes kept flying over and landing at the property next door to the farm, and he was just over the moon with excitement. This kid loves anything with buses, emergency vehicles, planes, and construction equipment!
We picked so many yummy strawberries to take home! This was his first time picking strawberries, and mine too! I’m looking forward to picking blueberries with him this year.
And right as we were excited about the fields, he slipped into the mud. OOPS!!!
Luckily, they had a hose available, so we stripped him down and cleaned his clothes of all that mud. I had learned my lesson prior, so I always keep a huge stash of fresh clothes in the back of the car for him. This kid is attracted to messes and dirt.
That night, I made yummy sourdough grilled cheese sandwiches with the bread and cheese we bought at the farm. I also made roasted garlic and basil tomato soup with our produce! The food was so fresh, and I love using local ingredients!
I used those strawberries for a strawberry shortcake for a market sale 🙂
Thank you all for stopping by to read! I’m going to try my best to get more posts up. They may be shorter but more frequent! I have a toddler who doesn’t nap, a full-time bakery job, and a house to upkeep. It gets a bit hard some days, but I always feel so sad when I leave the blog empty! I’m going to keep trying to be better about it 🙂 Thank you for always understanding!!
So happy to see a new post! The cake looks delicious 🤤

I have amazing memories from strawberry fields as well, when I was a little girl I ussed to pick strawberries with my grandparents every year, I loved to spend time outside with them on the farm 🙂
Have a great summer and can´t wait for your recap post 🙂
