Happy December, everyone!
This is the best time of the year, and I’m back to doing Vlogmas, so don’t forget to check out my daily videos on my Youtube channel. They will be a day in the life style vlogs with a few festive things here and there. I dropped the intro yesterday and the first vlog of vlogmas this morning! 😊
I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving, no matter how you celebrated it this year. Even though it’s December, we are still eating the leftovers! We had the best time with my mom and dad and kyle’s mom. We hadn’t seen Kyle’s mom in a year, and it was so nice to see her again. This was such a fun and PACKED week.
On Wednesday, I got my nails done since Thanksgiving was coming up, and I needed some festive Christmas nails. After my nail appointment, I headed to Starbucks for a tall almond milk cappuccino with one pump of peppermint!
We also had our new Peloton arrive! Kyle is obsessed with it. I road it for the first time today, but I need to get some shoes for it before taking any classes.
That night, we headed next door to say happy birthday and have some cake with the neighbors! On Thursday night, we picked up Kyle’s mom from the airport. We sat around the kitchen eating coconut shrimp and I started making the pumpkin pies, cranberry sauce, and a few other Thanksgiving recipes! It’s better to do everything you can the night before to make everything run smoothly on Thanksgiving Day.
My very first turkey turned out amazing! I can’t wait to make it again next year. I’ll update my blog recipe soon, so it’s available for next year! I don’t know why I was so intimidated to make a turkey. It’s so easy!
We had enough food to live off of for a month! We are still eating leftovers. My neighbor made us a batch of her homemade rolls and mac and cheese to go with our meal. I sent her a pumpkin pie in return. 😊We had stuffing, gluten-free stuffing, mac & cheese, homemade rolls, shrimp salad, roasted potatoes, green beans, turkey, cranberry sauce, cookies, pumpkin pie, pumpkin pie crumble bars, dark chocolates, and more!
We spent the evening playing fibbage and laughing off our food comas.
On Friday after Thanksgiving, I headed out to take some Christmas photos for a family in the neighborhood. They turned out so cute!!!
On Saturday, Kyle, me, and his mom headed to our mall to look at a few sales.
We stopped at our favorite restaurant, Reids Fine Foods, for a quick bite to eat first. I had the arugula salad with salmon. The food is ALWAYS good! Later in the evening, we headed to Napa at Kingsley for dinner. I ordered their special, the Swordfish, over arugula, green beans, shrimp, and risotto.
We spent ALL of Sunday morning/early afternoon filming the Vlogmas intro! My mom came over to help film, and Kyle’s mom had so much fun helping us too! This was a memory we’ll never forget! I’m thinking about posting some behind the scenes with the Santa scenes. It was SO SO SO SO funny!!!!
We headed to our favorite local Tavern, Killington’s, for an early dinner after filming! I ordered a turkey and avocado pita wrap and split some wings with Kyle!
I hope you all had a great week, and now I’m off to film a few things for tomorrow’s vlogmas video!
Questions for you!
- How did you spend your Thanksgiving?
- Are you excited for December?
- Did you cook the turkey this year?
I’ve always enjoyed your Vlogmas. This year’s intro was funny and lighthearted, but I so connected with your first day of Vlogmas. You really showed that vulnerable side when you were in your car “talking” to us. I identified with your talking about your weight gain during this year and wanting to get healthy. No weighing, no diets, eat what you like in moderation and enjoy! Thanks for being real!!!
I usually do a turkey, but this year I cooked a bone-in turkey breast this year and all the fixin’s. And…now I’m looking forward to December and, hopefully, a snowy winter!
Hi, Suze!
Thank you so much! 😊
It’s hard to talk about struggles sometimes and I’m so good at just coasting through without mentioning things, but I want to get better about being open!
💜
Awww, looks like you had a great Thanksgiving! I’m so happy for you, Taralynn! ❤️✨

Thanks, Charmaine! ♥️
I also cooked my first ever turkey this year! We only made a breast since there were 5 of us total and no one is a big dark meat fan. Totally agree, it’s way less intimidating than I initially thought! The sides were much more stressful than the actual bird!
Super excited for Vlogmas 🙂
Awwwwwww!!!!!! Congrats on your first turkey!
I agree 100% the bird is the easiest part!
It looks like you had an amazing Thanksgiving, friend! I’m so happy to hear that! 🙂 My hubby and I spent Thanksgiving with my parents and it was wonderful. My momma always fixes Thanksgiving dinner (she won’t let me do a thing, except help in the kitchen, haha!), and I fix Christmas dinner. I’m looking forward to that soon, and all the holiday cheer that December brings.
Also, fantastic job on your turkey! I’m scared to make anything besides a turkey breast in the crockpot, haha. I will definitely try out your recipe though when you post it!!
Make Life Marvelous
Hi, Ashley!
Sounds like a perfect Thanksgiving!!! ♥️
Haha i was so scared too but it ended up being tooooooo easy!
Are you still gluten free? I saw your GF stuffing here (would love the recipe!) but wonder about the Vlogmas cinnamon rolls, and the mac & cheese and pita wrap in this post. Have you found awesome GF dupes for these things? That pita has me drooling!!
Hi!
I’m still gluten-free but have recently and SLOWLY added gluten back into my diet. I’m not supposed to have it because of my endo + i break out terribly, but I’ve learned not to deprive myself of something. I go for gluten-free as much as a can though.
1. Thanksgiving at home with my husband (after a socially distanced driveway drink with friends who cooked the turkey for us and made us to go plates!)
2. Super excited for December and Christmas- tree is up, homemade gingerbread TEA lattes are being consumed on the daily (since starbucks wont make them anymore), and holiday cards are going out later today. We are watching all the holiday movies (classics and hallmark), buying and gifting already, and planning a fabulous Christmas dinner. This may be our best Christmas yet. I’m very excited for the holiday in 2020!
That was so nice of your friends!!
Sounds like you’re deep into the holiday spirit! You go girl!!
I’m sorry but why are you wearing sandals with a winter coat and a winter cap? I don’t get it haha 😉
It’s the south lol
I am so happy that you decided to do vlogmas this year. It’s been so much fun to watch and I very much love the a-day-in-the-life style.
I love that you filmed the intro with your mom and Kyle’s mom! That makes it even more special!
Your turkey looks amazing. Congrats!!
Does Kyle work from home as well at the moment?
Wishing you guys all the best, Nadine
Thanks so much, Nadine!
Oh yes he is!! 😂 So all of my vlogmas magic is happening with him as my audience 😆 That’s why I’m always laughing off to the side!
Where is your pink striped sweater from?
Target! 😊
