Good Morning!
Hope you all had wonderful weekends, and your December is off to a fun start. The weather has been incredible here. It’s cold in the mornings and in the evenings, which put me in the Christmas spirit, but it’s sunny and warm during the day, which is perfect for spending time outdoors. Speaking of outdoors, I need to get my Christmas lights up soon.
I’m excited to today because I’m meeting up with Becca to visit some fun stores, antique shops, grab a coffee, and get some Christmas shopping done early. I haven’t seen her in a while, so I look forward to catching up and spending time together.
I had to wake up at 6 am this morning because the dogs were ready to head out for their walk. I didn’t mind because the moon was gorgeous and the pink sunrise was surrounding it. I wish I had my phone to take a photo (even though it wouldn’t have done it justice), but sometimes I’m happy the dogs wake me up and get me outside during the most beautiful time of the day. After our walk, we cozied up on the couch with coffee and got to work on this recap post. I struggled to stay awake to put it together last night. Kyle and I were out by ten.
Can you believe it’s been a whole week since Thanksgiving weekend? I’m always talking about how fast time flies, but it’s true. I was so happy to see the pups last Monday. They pretty much attacked me at the door, and instead of my Dad helping, he kept snapping photos. Gotta love him.
Since my parents were so kind and watched my dogs during Thanksgiving weekend, I made them a delicious taco dinner on Monday night. I love spending time with them on the weekdays, so we caught up over dinner!
Taco night ingredients: onions, avocados, rice, taco shells, tomatoes, salsa, cheese, ground beef, ground turkey, taco seasoning, and hot sauce.
My taco plate had shredded lettuce, ground turkey with taco seasoning, onions, tomatoes, salsa, bell peppers, avocado, and brussels sprouts.
Look at those little frosty noses! It was 31 degrees on Tuesday morning! Burrrrrrrr.
My breakfasts aren’t always the prettiest, but they work. Egg whites, tomatoes, leftover taco meat, and pineapple!
I honestly couldn’t get out of my weekend vacation mode, so it took me a bit to get through emails. I found myself staring at my computer screen with a foggy mind most of the time, so I shut down and headed out for a walk. I needed to do something to get myself out of the rut.
The dogs were zonked after our four-mile walk. I started going through some old photos at my parent’s house for a Christmas gift I’m working on. I spent hours going through all the memories with my dad. I even had to make coffee for use while he was showing me his photos from his tours overseas. My dad has been to over 70 countries!
I picked up an easy dinner on Tuesday night from my favorite spot, Earth Fare. My (go-to) salad had mixed greens, tomatoes, onions, cucumber, chopped chicken, pepitas, chickpeas, and a balsamic for the dressing. I also picked up dark chocolate and a Zevia drink!
I didn’t buy these, but I had to show you! Look how delicious the new Theo holiday chocolate flavors look! Let me know if you’ve tried any 🙂
I was so excited when I got home on Wednesday morning (also, I couldn’t believe it was already Wednesday.) My Christmas ornaments arrived! I have been using Personal Creations for a long time, and have always been obsessed with their gifts and home decor. How cute are these? They have all kinds of different ornaments. For breakfast, I made a little DIY Acai bowl. It was inspired from the one I had down in Florida. I blended Acai powder, banana, ice, cashew milk, and vanilla protein powder together. I topped the bowl with hemp seeds and banana. So filling and delicious.
After breakfast, I added the new pillowcases I ordered to my couch. I can’t get over how cute these were for the price! I included the links below because so many of you were asking about them on Instagram. I also linked a couple of other items you all were curious about.
(LIVING ROOM RUG) (THROW BLANKET) (SOLID FAUX LEATHER PILLOW) (TWO COLOR FAUX LEATHER PILLOW) (BLACK AND WHITE CHECK PILLOW) (HALLWAY RUNNER) (OFFICE CHAIR)
Later Wednesday evening, I drove uptown to head to the gym with Kyle. We wanted to grab dinner to go and watch movies later that evening. Before heading out, I grabbed a coffee and some Turkey Jerky! I knew I’d be stuck in rush hour traffic, so I wanted to make the best of it. I’m strange when it comes to traffic. I like it because I get to listen to music, the dogs hang their heads out the window, and it forces me to enjoy the moment and just be.
I sat on the stationary bike while Kyle lifted weights and read some of my book for next month’s book review.
After we left the gym, we stopped at B. Good for dinner to go! I ordered a turkey burger and a side kale salad. If you ever stop uptown, B. Good is such an amazing spot! The healthy and local options are endless. I will add it to my Charlotte list soon. Kyle ended up dipping my gluten-free bun in his soup.
We started watching Mind Hunter on Netflix and fell asleep soon after. For breakfast on Thursday morning, I had oats and eggs! I blogged about my peppermint mocha latte muffins!
After the gym (biking & booking) on Thursday night, we stopped at the grocery store to grab a random dinner smorgasbord. I’m not a huge “pork rind” person, but we gave these a try! They were awesome!!!! It’s crazy that each serving has only 1g of carb.
My dinner plate had cucumber, hummus, celery, carrots, pork rinds, and smoked turkey! YUM!
Friday morning was so nice! The dogs and I went out for a long trail walk, and then I headed to the grocery store to pick up some ingredients to make dinner & a recipe for my recipe & book review series coming up.
I can’t wait to share!!!!!
My parents came over to help Kyle and I eat the giant dinner on Friday night (Pics coming soon.) My mom and I headed out on a long dog walk and ended the evening with coffee.
For the past year, I’ve been working on getting rid of “things” that I do not use/tough/need. You may look at this closet and think it’s a lot of clothes (and it is) but if you could have seen the amount I had when I first moved into my house, you’d be shocked. See this closet? I filled this and two other closets in my house with my clothing. It was ridiculous. I have gotten rid of over 2500 (I’ve been keeping count) pieces of clothing in 2017. Each month, I go through my closet and get rid of more and more. It feels so good to have LESS. I can’t wait to see what it looks like by summer.
I took everything out of my closet on Saturday morning while drinking coffee and went through everything again. I dropped off four bags to salvation army. After cleaning out the closet, I was confident about going to the mall. I didn’t want to think about more clothes, so it was all about Kyle and NOTHING caught my eye. We were out trying to find the perfect suit for him. I was just there for the coffee and support. 🙂
We tried all the department stores, but it was just BLEHHHH.
Oh, and I ordered a tall cappuccino with one extra shot of espresso and soy milk.
We decided to head over to Bruce Julians. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! If you are ever looking for a suit for your dad, brother, boyfriend, husband, or whoever…you should check them out. They were so wonderful! They’ve been in business since the late 40’s, and I can see why. They helped Kyle find what he was looking for and were so knowledgeable. This is why shopping local is so much better. Plus, they offer you wine, water, coffee…and bloody marys!
After six hours of shopping for a suit, he found a good one!
When we got back to my house, we made some popcorn, eggs, and hopped on the couch to watch a Dateline.
The weather was perfect on Sunday! I love waking up to the sun rays shining through my bedroom window.
Goals for the bedroom. I want to get a new white duvet and all white pillowcases. Should I keep the wall colors or go dark? I want a minimal look.
We drove to Le Peep to meet up with Meighan for breakfast on Sunday morning! I just love this place 🙂 I ordered a double shot of espresso to start. For my breakfast, I had an eggwhite omelet filled with tomatoes, spinach, bell peppers, and onions. I had fresh fruit on my side!
Later in the afternoon, we headed to the courts to play tennis. Guys…70 degrees in DECEMBER!!! I LOVE THE SOUTH 🙂
I basically just kicked Kyle’s butt the whole time 😉 (I know you’re reading, Kyle)
After tennis, I had a post workout snack. I love mixing coconut milk yogurt and chocolate Vega protein!
We did chicken nuggets and baked chicken for dinner! My homemade chicken nuggets are one of Kyle’s favorite recipes.
And here are the details for my honey mustard baked chicken!
I hope you guys have a wonderful week! xo
Questions for you!
- Whats the weather like where you are?
- Do you own too many clothes?
- What is your favorite ornament you own?
The pups are huge, omg! I love big dogs, they’re so cute! 🙂
The weather is great where I live in Hong Kong right now, just beginning to cool down (but only slightly). Either way, I’m in Thailand on vacation this week so it doesn’t matter, haha!
Charmaine Ng | Architecture & Lifestyle Blog

They are GIGANTIC!! But yes, still little cute teddy bears!
Enjoy Thailand!! <3
Weather by me in MN is@crazy!! 56 degrees today in NOVEMBER! Unheard of!! Due to my large closet as well i did a 30 day minimalist challenge with my husband and got rid of so much-living with less feels great! & lastly my favorite ornaments are the ones my husband and I collect while we travel! Love your colorful pictures!
Wow!! Hope that weather stays put!! It feels amazing to get rid of it all! I can’t believe how much stuff I have tossed this year. Not only is it great to toss, it makes you NOT want to get anything else! or if you do buy something, you feel the need to throw or donate something else!
I love the idea of traveling ornaments.
1. Today, the weather here is rainy and 39 degrees (YUCK!). But, we are under a blizzard warning starting tonight and are supposed to get over 9 inches of snow…gotta love Michigan!
2. I have SO many clothes…I’ve been working on weeding out what I don’t want and I’ve posted a lot of things on Poshmark, which I love! Otherwise, I drop stuff off at Goodwill but it’s a daunting task!
3. My favorite Christmas ornaments are these little wax gingerbread cookies that my mom bought when I was born. They were gingerbread scented and look like real cookies, so there are several teeth marks on them from when I tried to eat them as a baby 🙂 Good memories!
Ew the worst weather! COLD & RAINY…Please stay safe in the winter conditions! That rain turns to ice!
Have you thought about trying thredup? They send you bags for free and you just fill them up with your clothes and they’ll pay you (small amount) for them. You don’t have to do much either! Just bag em up and give them to your mailman. They are called clean out bags.
HAHAHAHA TOO FUNNY! I actually have gingerbread ornaments that I made and one of them has a bite out of them from puppy grumples!
I have many clothes that I’m thinking of either selling or giving to my friends 🙂
Great idea!
Love your bedroom color! I say keep as is! But I have been obsessing over matching Magnolia colors to Sherwin Williams (to save da money) and it’s been helping us pick out clean yet farm-housey colors for our new house!
And my hubby and I have a Christmas tradition of picking out one new ornament each year. Whenever we are out we just keep an eye out for something that “speaks” to us.
This year was an owl ornament from Pier1. Our new house has a lot of owls that LOVE talking all night and we LOVE listening. So it was the perfect fit for this year.
And in Virginia it’s been pretty chilly but I like it for December “Christmas Spirit” weather 🙂
Thanks, Amanda! It’s a lot easier to keep it as is for sure! I guess it’s a nice neutral tone. I LOVE the farmhouse look!! I can’t wait to see what you do with your home.
I love that! I have decided to start doing one special ornament every year.
I bet the ornaments at Pier1 are so cute!!! I’m with you on the colder weather in December!
Yum, I love taco night! Lots of little dishes, but so easy.
The sun is out in San Francisco, but it’s a chilly 59 (weather wimp, I know)
I have a closet full of clothes, yet I wear the same pieces over and over. I’m really trying to be more mindful when I shop. Your closet is definitely full, but at least it’s neatly organized!
I have so many favorite ornaments…one is a beautiful white snow bunny on an icicle. I also love my Russian egg ornament, and my homemade angel one too.
I agree! I prepared them in 30 minutes! (nothing special) lol, I love the simple/generic stuff.
I’m a weather wimp living down here too. No judgments.
I am a lot like you! I wear the same thing over and over again. It’s sad that it’s now a quarter of what I owned…..lol
Those sound like beautiful ornaments.
Hi Taralynn!
1) Weather today is rainy and gloomy, but pretty warm (high 50’s). Starting tomorrow though, it’s getting really cold! We’re getting down into the single digits this week (brrrr). I live in MN!
2) YES, way too many clothes that I don’t wear! Need to get rid of some!
3) My favorite ornament is a personalized one that my new husband and I got this summer 🙂
Happy Monday! Hope you have a wonderful week!
P.S. My husband and I tried a daiya pizza this past weekend after seeing it on your blog! It was really good!
Hi, Chandler!
Crazy how the weather can drop that fast! Stay warm! Perfect excuse to cuddle up with a good book and some warm hot cocoa by the fireplace 😀
OR the perfect excuse to lock yourself up in your room and clean out that closet! 😉
The personalized ones are the best!
So glad you guys tried the Daiya pizza! It was so good! 🙂
xo thank you and I hope you have a great week as well!
I love the pups! They look so cute (and it must be so good to cuddle them when it’s cold outside ^^)
I’m spending Christmas with my family and I’m bringing our dogs a reindeer’s tiara (we make a fun photoshoot every year 😀 )
Whats the weather like where you are?
Now, it’s really cold! It’s like “Oh, we’re in December, WINTER IS COMING!”. I’m lucky I didn’t get sick for the moment (I eat tons of oranges to get my vitamines!)
Do you own too many clothes?
I don’t have a lot of place, but I think I might survive with less clothes (I wear an uniform at work). I really think about setting a capsule wardrobe one day, when I’ll move to a new place .
What is your favorite ornament you own?
I have a little porcelain Nativity scene I love (it’s a souvenir from Dublin : I’m not a regular church-goer, but I need traditions)
Oh, that is the best part 😀 They ALWAYS keep me warm at night.
That sounds so fun! The dog photos shoots are hard. lol
Glad you’re on top of your health this time of year!
That’s an awesome idea! Less is more.
I love the idea of traditions, always!! I bet that ornament is beautiful.
Looks like an awesome week! Thanks so much for sharing the suit store link. My fiance has been looking EVERYWHERE for a snazzy unique suit to wear to our wedding but has had zero luck. We might back a road trip here from Alexandria to check it out!
Definitely was!
You WILL NOT regret it! They were so wonderful and the tailor is right there to do it all! Plus free bloody marys and wine!? YES!
XO
1. I live in way south Texas (literally as south as you can go) and our “winter” maybe hits 50 degrees once or twice. I like it, but after living her 5 years I really am missing the actual fall and winter weather from DC where I used to live
2. Definitely too many clothes! I find I really only wear a handful of things for work, and the occasional different outfit on the weekends. Just cleaned out my closet and got rid of 5 trashbags full of clothes for the salvation army.
3. My favorite ornament is a set of 6 that I inherited from my great-grandmother. They’re gorgeous and have a unique shape. I don’t get them out anymore, though, because my cats would just love to knock them around haha
Hi, Laura!
That weather sounds amazing, but I understand missing what isn’t there! Same as not appreciating what is right in front of you. I read a poem the other day about how we wish for summer when its cold, wish for fall when it’s hot, and so on! It’s a cycle that we create when we can’t have something when we want it. It had me rethinking the way I feel about the seasons lol HOWEVER, I love the seasons in D.C.
YOU GO, GIRL!! And you’ll never look back or even remember which clothes you tossed!
Wow, I bet they are beautiful! & OMG we used to have so many problems with the cats climbing our tree!
Hi Taralynn!
Whats the weather like where you are? It is currently 40 degrees here, which is super weird. We’ve had an abnormally warm week, 30-40 degrees. Usually the temp stays below 20 degrees this time of year. But it is supposed to snow for the next three days so driving conditions could be sketchy this week. I am super jealous of your 30 degree mornings and 70 degree days! That sounds fantastic.
Do you own too many clothes? I don’t think I own too many clothes overall, I just own too many clothes I don’t actually wear. I think I only bought about five or six pieces of clothing all year. I would like to focus on creating a closet filled with clothes I love and wear consistently. I have a couple bags of clothes I need to drop off at a thrift store too. I’ve been thinking about using ThredUp, I remember you really liking it in the past.
What is your favorite ornament you own? My favorite ornament is probably a Doctor Who TARDIS ornament my sister got me for Christmas last year. It’s a really pretty royal blue and has glitter accents.
I really like the color of your bedroom walls! It looks green in the pictures. I would stay with that color, it would look really cool with all white bedding.
Loved the post xoxo
Hi, Siobhan!!
I feel as if many have had mild weather this week! Or the complete opposite. But it’s going to get cold here soon! Always in January!
I think the best thing to do is put a sticker on all of your clothes, and if the sticker is still here in 60 days it’s because you didn’t wear it! And it’s up for tossing!! lol But yes, thredup is great!
WOW! Sounds like a gorgeous ornament.!
It’s funny because sometimes it looks great, sometimes it looks green! Same thing with my living room!
xo thanks for reading!
What size rug did you get, the 7×10? I have a similar sized couch and think the rug would look fab!
I did 8×10!
I can’t wait to try your peppermint mocha muffins! I read a blog post the other day about cleaning out a closet full of clothes. OMG it was so helpful! If you’re interested:
https://littlemissfearless.com/let-go-clothes-never-wear-find-authentic-personal-style/
Thank you for sharing!!
Your house is GOALS! It’s so cute!
I would say maybe a light gray for the bedroom walls?
Can’t wait to try out those muffins! I will be making them this week for work 🙂
Awwww thanks, Autumn!!
That’s a good idea and not too far off from what it is now.
XO XO Let me know what you think of them!
Hi! I’m new to your blog. What book are you reviewing?
Behind Closed Doors! 😀
AMAZON BOOK: BEHIND CLOSED DOORS
girl, rethink the white duvet. I have one, + a doodle of my own. And an oily husband, and it basically is always stained and dirty yellow/brown. Wishing I would have bought something black or a dark color that doesn’t show the stains because of how many times I’ve had to bleach it. Good luck!
Lol! I laughed so hard at “oily husband.”
Fortunately, I haven’t had any issues with my white comforter I have now. My dogs go through an extensive paw wipe down after our walks! I may do one of those lighter striped duvets though! I always thought those looked good! You could probably get a dark duvet over your current comforter! Saves $
Go dark with the room color, especially if you’re gonna have white linens!!!! So pretty!!!
The weather here is not going to be my friend in about 12 hours…we live in western Michigan and it has been extremely mild until tomorrow, artic stuff is coming!! UGH!!!! 😩
That could be fun! 😀
OHHHHHHHH NO!!!!! I did the Detroit MI Winter one year (during the snow-apocalypse) and it was crazy!
STAY SAFE!!
I live in nw Ohio and it was 58° today. Definitely doesn’t feel like December… although I can’t imagine it being 70°! That’s crazy!
I really need to go through and donate some clothes. I just don’t have the motivation to go through my wardrobe! Maybe I’ll turn on a Christmas movie and work on it this weekend!
I heard Iowa was nearly 70! Crazy, but those numbers won’t last! lol
You just have to turn on a good show (with episodes) and get into the groove! Once I start, there is NO STOPPING until I’m done.
You should do posts about home ownership – like all the stuff your family has helped you make or tips for painting walls. I don’t personally feel like I need this at the moment (we just bought a house, so I’m living it). But this was stuff I was looking through pinterest for and it’s all stuff you’ve experienced!
Anyways, its wonderful weather but so warm here — 70s, but about to go down to 40-60s. Gotta love the south and the weather changes!
I own like an average amount of clothes. Even though I don’t own a TON, I still have to throw clothes I’m not wearing away every now and then to make space for clothes I will wear or need. It’s good feeling to get rid of what you don’t need!! So therapeutic.
I don’t have a favorite ornament yet, but after your post I’m looking for one that says something about our first home. 🙂
Hi, Jessica!
In four days, I’ve officially been a homeowner for 1 year! Could be a great idea for a post. I’m still getting all the things put together. I’ve learned that it’s never ending.
Lol I agree! You never know what to expect!
I 1000000% agree with you that it’s therapeutic.
Personal Creations & Etsy are great for that!
Do you and Kyle live together?
Nope!
We are in the middle of a blizzard today. I wish it was near Christmas time instead!
Yikes! But Christmas will be here before you know it! 😀
It’s cold and snowy up north in Saskatchewan, Canada. Currently -14 Celsius (6 Fahrenheit). And that’s warm for December here!
OMG! burrrrrrrrr
Your acai bowl looks so good! Mine turns out so soupy. Do you recommend that acai powder?
Thanks, Raya!
Yes! It’s one of my favorites that I’ve had so far!
Ahhhh I LOVE Le Peep’s! Their gooey buns have been a favorite of mine ever since I was a kid :). I knew I’d love Ben forever when he surprised me and re-created them haha. SO good!
The weather is ALL OVER here in CO. One day it’s sunny and 75 (which is ridiculous) and the next it’s windy and cold and 30. But we haven’t gotten much snow yet, so I’m crossing my fingers that it’s all being saved up for a white Christmas :).
Ben and I moved into this teeny tiny house in Boulder, with the SMALLEST closets you’ve ever seen. It’s not even really a closet. It’s more like an indent in the wall with a metal bar across is haha. BUT, it forced us to downsize a ton and I kind of love it. I gave so much away too!
My parents have kept all of our ornaments since we were little, and my favorite it probably this little one with a baby picture of me and it plays the little lullaby when you press a button on the back. Pretty much the best memories ever!
We don’t want the holidays to be over!
Hi, Susie!
I do not DARE try their gooey buns! They sound too good!!
Sounds like a good thing to hold off for! 😀 Always more special with the first snowfall is on Christmas.
That is awesome!! Downsizing is so therapeutic and makes it easier to get ready!
My parents have kept mine to! One day they’ll end up on my tree. That ornament sounds adorable!!
do we ever?!?!?!
I own way more than I actually wear, although I’ve downsized a lot in the past few years. Always rotating through the same PJs, work out shirts/shorts, and scrubs!
Hi, Nicole!
Downsizing is so therapeutic. Having less clothes reduces my anxiety for some reason lol I hope to eventually have half the amount as I do now! I mean, like you, I end up wearing the same things all the time anyway!
Taralynn 😀
Can you tell me where your tennis bag is from?
I actually bought it at Dicks Sporting Goods. It was only $16!
https://www.dickssportinggoods.com/p/slazenger-womens-3-pack-tennis-bag-16slawwslz3pk2015tnn/16slawwslz3pk2015tnn
What iPhone do you have? Do you use it for blog photos?
I take about 80% of my photos with my Iphone! I just have the 6s plus.
Does Leo still go to camp?
Haha yup! He’s there right now!
i can’t believe you had/have so many clothes.
I know. BAD.
My mom had my first pair of shoes turned into an ornament. They placed them in a clear bulb and that is my favorite ornament!
The weather here has been so cold and blizzardy. I’m living in North Dakota so I’m a bit jealous of your sunny weather.
That is so sweet! I have baby ballerina slippers on my tree that I’ve had since I was a little girl. I love the idea of turning your slippers into a bulb!
ohhhhh that snow sounds perfect for Christmas though!
I want to get into tennis so badly. Do you have any tips? My boyfriend plays with his family and I’m too embarrassed to join.
1. Don’t be embarrassed!
The more you play, the better you’ll get! Maybe meet up with a tennis coach for some private lessons to get all the basics down and get a little bit more confident! Get fitted for a racket! Have your boyfriend play with you as much as you can! The more you play the better you’ll be!
You should do a post on how you organize your closet. I don’t know where to start! Yours look so good!
Awwww thanks, Allana!! Maybe I will!
Your brother used to teach me tennis at the country club when I was eight!
Haha small world! At the Ottumwa CC?
Your Dogs are ADORABLE!
Awww, thank you!
Thanks so much for sharing! I’m new to your blog and am inspired by your balanced lifestyle.
Here in Mississippi it’s still pretty warm!
I used to own wayyyy too many clothes, but then I read The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo. I did a complete closet overhaul and it feels so good! I love my new, smaller wardrobe.
My husband and I bought an ornament together in New Orleans the first year we were married. It’s a simple one, but I love the memories it’s associated with.
Hi, Melanie!
Welcome to my blog! 😀 So glad you landed here!
I READ THAT TOO! It was a great read. I am hoping to get smaller and smaller in the wardrobe section over the new year!
I love ornaments that hold memories!:)
Have a great week!
Taralynn <3
1. It’s starting to get colder up here in New York! I think there’s a chance of snow this weekend. I’m jealous of you guys still having warm weather 🙁
2. I’ve gotten better at donating things I don’t wear. I go through my closet a lot and pick out race shirts, things that don’t fit, and any kind of “if I lose 10 pounds I’ll wear this!” types of things. I’m still trying to downsize everything I own, because I definitely but too much.
3. My mom has this ornament from the anniversary of the Moon Landing that I always remember seeing on our Christmas tree when I was little. It plugs into a string of lights, and when you press a button it plays the “one small step for man…” line and lights up. Unfortunately, my mom isn’t putting out Christmas decorations this year, so the ornament will be boxed up for the season 🙁
Hi, Jenn!!
It is nice here, but that snow is perfect for getting into the holiday spirit! 😀
That is great, and I had to “LET GO” of my race shirts, high school tees and so on! I NEVER wore them. They just sat there!
Awwww, so sad! Maybe you can put the ornament on your tree!
What harnesses are those on the dogs?
They are called Ruffwear Harness!
LINK: Ruffwear – Front Range No-Pull Dog Harness with Front Clip, Tillandsia Purple (2017), Small
I made your muffins over the weekend and they were a big hit!
Hi, Kasey!
So happy to hear that!
xo
Hi Taralynn! I just love your dogs, they are so cute. They seemed so excited to see you when you got back.
The weather where I am is just above freezing. I live in southern Ontario, Canada, so winters can get brutal, but its been pretty mild lately.
My favourite ornament I own is one similar to yours of you and Kyle and your dogs, but its me and my daughter as snowmen, and our names and the year she was born. Its my favourite because my dad had given it to me when she was born and he has since passed and I treasure basically everything he has ever given me now.
Hi, Jacky!
Thank you so much 😀 They were! So excited I got knocked over several times! They are so much.
OMG, That sounds sooooo cold!!!!!! But good for the holidays!
AWWWWW that is precious! Something you’ll be able to cherish forever. <3 So beautiful.
I’m extremely jealous of your weather. I am at home working today because of the blizzard!
At least you’re at home!! 😀
I know exactly what you mean about STILL having too many clothes after cleaning out. I did the same thing a few weeks ago and got rid of 6 bags. My closet still looked PACKED! Even though I don’t consider myself one of those people who gets super attached to things, apparently I am! Haha! Loved the post as always! 🙂
Hi, Charity!
Yeah, it’s INSANE! I don’t know how this is happening lol. I must have JAMMED everything last time lol. I think we are all attached a little. I think “but I may want to wear that” lol and never do!
What brand is your racket?
It’s HEAD!
Your fur babies are just too cute! I bet they were super excited for you to get back home to them!
You totally inspired me to start back up with tennis! My boyfriend and I used to play a few years ago (we’re not super good, but it’s just so much fun!) and we started back up while we were on our recent beach vacation! It’s such a good workout too! I love it!
I’m loving the weather here in Arkansas lately too! It just cooled off today but it has been in the upper 60’s and low 70’s during the day which has been SO nice!!
I’m totally right there with you with getting rid of extra clothing! My closet is pretty full but a few months back I donated a ton of it and it felt extra good getting rid of all the unwanted clothes I never wear anyways!
Those ornaments are just too cute!! I’ll have to check those out for sure! 🙂
Happy Tuesday Taralynn!!
Hi, Chelsea!
Thank you! I think they’re pretty cute too! I always miss them when I’m gone.
Awwwww yay! I’m so glad you’re back at it! If you’re eve in Charlotte, feel free to let me know! We can play doubles! It’s the best workout that you can do pretty much anywhere!
I bet the weather is nice in Arkansas!! Kyle and I want to visit there.
Donated and cleansing the closet is always good!
We love the ornaments! I am going to order a new one each year!
xo
Hi! I have been following your blog since around 2012 & have yet to say hello! I also live in Arkansas. I actually have a blog post about my trip to Eureka Springs. I bet you would love the uniqueness of the town! Love your blog! <3
You are too cute, Taralynn!
🙂 Thanks, Lane!!
Can you please do another VLOG week?!??
YES!
I love doing a taco bar for dinner! It’s so easy and everyone can fix it the way they want. Your breakfasts look about like mine. I think I may eat about as many eggs as you do in a week’s time! LOL We have been having 70 degree weather here too and it has been AMAZING! I spent all weekend outside. It finally got cold today and I’m not liking it. I love your new ornaments! They are super cute! I feel like I am always cleaning out my closet but I always seem to fill it right back up. 🙂 I am really impressed that you have gotten rid of that much clothing!
Taco bars are the best!
Hahaha yes you do!! That warm weather is always a tease!! It’s a bit chilly here this morning, but nothing to complain about. I was sweating by mile three on the walk.
& thank you! I love them so much!
I hope to keep it up!!
Whats the weather like where you are? The weather in Cali is sooo cold in the AM about 32 degrees in the the mid 60s during day
Do you own too many clothes? I own a lot of clothes and got rid of 5 bags full just after thanksgiving… still have more to give away
What is your favorite ornament you own? Favorite ornament, I love Xmas so I have too many but it has to be a gold star ornament. Love the blog as always
Hi, Rachel.
OMG!! That is cold for Cali!!
That is awesome! Always feels good to clean it all out!
Speaking of gold star, I need to get a star for my tree!
Where did you get those asics?
REI!
Hi Taralynn! Great post that taco plate looks scrumptious! I could eat tacos everyday :p Im a little jealous of the weather youre having its getting pretty cold in PA already. As far as clothes, I dont have too many but the ones I do have I don’t wear half of them so I am always trying to get rid of clothes.. it’s always so hard for me! & I dont really have a fave ornament yet.. I guess I will have to get one then. The ones you shared of you,Kyle and the pups are soooooooo cute!!!!
Take care,

Hi, Katie!
Yes tacos every day for sure!
OHHHH I bet it’s freezing up there for sure! Hope it has you in the holiday spirit?
It can be hard to get rid of clothes at first, but kind of fun when laundry time comes around! Less options, less to fold! 😀
And thank you!! those are my new favorite ornaments for sure! I had some childhood ones that I love!
Have a wonderful week.
Will you be doing a gift guide this year?
I’ll be doing a savings guide!!
I just finished the book you recommended and it was so good! I can’t wait to read your review and discuss!!!!!!!
I bought her next book!
The weather is way too cold for me to handle. I’m not sure why I still live here! It was 59 on Sunday, and dropped down to 20 the next day. It’s supposed to stay in the 20s all this week, and snow again on Friday!
Yes, I own way too many clothes. Like you, I’ve spent probably the past year seriously getting rid of stuff I don’t wear. I’ve actually made about 2500 on poshmark — and that’s with maybe 1/4 of the clothes you’ve gotten rid of so far! I can always use the money so it’s a great way to earn a few extra bucks! It feels sooooo good to get rid of things. My friend are actually having a garage sale in the spring so I’m excited to get rid of household stuff that I don’t plan on ever using/needing again! Were you doing a garage sale post at some point?
Have a great end of your week! 😀
Hi, Jennifer! YIKES! THAT’S A HUGE DROP! BURRRRR I won’t complain about our 50-degree weather… lol
Great that you use Poshmark (i’m too lazy to do it) lol
I did have a yard sale and plan on doing a post about it in the spring!
xo
You should blog more. I miss seeing your frequent posts.
Believe it or not, I’ve actually been writing three blogs a day for the past week! I have it all scheduled out for a more consistent posting schedule soon.
It’s cool that you play tennis! Any tips for beginners!?
Play as much as you can!! Get fitted for a racket!! have fun!! 😀
How old are your dogs? Mine are three and I can’t get them to walk! Your dogs seem very active.
Dogs can get out of shape too! Heat also plays a role. Grumples used to only walk one mile (if that) and quit. I started adding .10 to his milage every day until we hit four! He LOVES them now. Bring water, treats, and make sure it’s nice and cool outside! But sometimes he doesn’t feel like walking, just like humans! We all need breaks. But, Grumples is 6 1/2 and Leo is 1
Hi Taralynn,
Will you be posting your training tips you did with Grumples soon? I have a doodle with the same issue and would love your advice!!! <3
The weather right now is actually like 60 degrees which is so nice! I live in Florida, so this little bit of cool weather is amazing.
I actually don’t own enough clothes, I wear the same things over and over. I need new clothes.
My favorite ornament is one that a good family friend made when her mom (my Florida grandma) passed away. We all got one and it just has so much meaning!
Love the ornaments. Can’t find any like them anywhere on the website.
