Ever since I was a little girl, I have always enjoyed being outside. I used to play with the neighborhood kids until the street lights came on and my mom had to beg me to come inside. I still love being outside. I love walking trails, boating, kayaking, and swimming. Last week, I found a new trail that I’m obsessed with.

This afternoon, a friend and I ran the trail.

It’s 2.25 miles to the bridge and 2.25 miles back. I love trails that don’t circle around because once you go so far, there is no stopping and you have to come back.

It also helps to find shaded running trails. It keeps me cool and allows me to run longer.

4 1/2 miles complete!

This was the first time I ran without tracking my miles or listening to music and I did a pretty good job. I hate hearing myself breathe, it makes me want to stop.

The views were gorgeous the entire trail. We sat and cooled down on the bench before taking off.

I had to stop and grab an ice water at the closest place, McDonalds. When I got home, I had a slice of peanut butter toast on my Energize bread and a bowl of popcorn!

Now it’s time to start packaging for the collection!

What is something you’ve never grown out of as a kid?

I get bad shinsplints and it really helps to run on grass, massage them, use a foam roller and ice ice ice!

  6. this trail looks amazing! And I feel the same way about hearing myself breathe when I’m running. I feel like I sound worse and then it makes me feel more tired than I actually am! I actually admire people who run without music on a regular basis!

    1. Glad I’m not the only one! I tried to do it the other day and it didn’t go as great!
