With a 100% chance of snow, I can see why they canceled my flight, but what frustrates me is that I’ve been on the phone with them for over an hour. There are screen shots on Twitter of people’s holding wait time and some are up to eight hours. Aint nobody got time for that! And even if I did…that’s ridiculous.
I would have never imagined being stuck in the South! I am going to try to be patient and figure out what I should do. In the meantime, I’m going to eat this delicious salad, watch Monday night’s episode of Food Network’s Kid’s Baking Championship, pray I get travel answers, and put my socks on because my feet are freezing.
By the way *I ended up getting that spray tan and it looks so natural.
Have you ever had a horrible experience with a flight being cancelled?

I’m sorry to hear that! I’m supposed to be flying out on Friday morning someplace warm as well. Fingers crossed all works out for you- I know how frustrating that can be!

Please post a picture of the spray tan before and after! I’ve been thinking of getting one before my cruise but I’m nervous! 🙂

I will as soon as I’m at my full darkest!

I’d like to see the spray tan looks like too. I’m really fair skinned and I think I’d olny get one session.

It snows in GA too. It’s even snowed in south Florida a few times.

That’s awful, I’m sorry Taralynn. I know how much you’re looking forward to this trip, so hopefully everything gets fixed asap!
I was once on a flight from Rome, Italy to Paris, France and, due to rain delays from Rome, ended up not being allowed on my flight from Paris to the US (due to weight and regulation checks having already occurred on the plane). While it wasn’t fun being cold [Paris in October is cold and wet] (due to having no luggage other than my carry-on because my luggage), I did get to go see and experience the Eiffel Tower. I’d never been to Paris, so this was a pleasant surprise after an unpleasant event. Everything happens for a reason, you’ll eventually see why, so keep your chin up. Enjoy the Food Network episode.

I don’t travel enough to have flights canceled on me, but so sorry its happening to you.

Very sorry to hear that! I feel your pain. I don’t travel by plane often but I was coming back from a vacation in Austin with my fiance (he had just proposed on that vacation!!!) this past New Year’s and my flight got cancelled. It was a big mess because I had a layover and had to work out how to first get to my delayed layover location and THEN find a new flight connecting to somewhere nearby where I live with my parents so they could come pick me up from the airport. All I know is…I will never EVER fly with American Airlines again. They lost my bag as well. Luckily it did show up about 4 days later. I wish you the best of luck, though!

Last Saturday morning my flight from St Louis to Phoenix got cancelled because of the weather. After an hour and a half on the phone with the airline I decide just to drive to the airport anyway. After being very nice to the gal at the counter, she was able to find me a later flight! Here’s to hoping the same happens for you

I was flying back to England once and my flight at JFK bumped me off the flight and gave it to someone else that arrived after me. I was incredibly upset and they wouldn’t do anything about it except give me the first flight the next day. I missed one whole day of a music festival I was supposed to be working and ended up missing my ride to the festival. I had to quickly grab the last train heading to the nearest town at the festival (arrived at 2am instead of my original 11am. Now I just look back and laugh, but it wasn’t funny at all then!

Good luck! It’s crazy being in the snow down here (I’m in SC) but it can be fun too! Hope your flight gets out soon!
Lindsay says

I’ve never had any flight troubles thank god, especially because I fly internationally at least once a year. However I have had horrible spray tan fails… so I’m glad you got a good one! Now if I decide to get one I think I’ll hit up one of the custom ones here in California where someone actually customizes the tan to you, the only downer is having to be naked in front of a stranger lol Good luck on your flight out! Who knew there snow in Charlotte, I always just assumed Hurricanes in the southern states.

I’m so sorry your flight got cancelled! I hope you’ll be able to go soon!
I’ve actually NEVER flown! I really can’t believe it! My family never really traveled, so there was no need.

I’m sorry to hear that your flight was canceled. I was stuck in Austria in 2010 for a week due to the Icelandic volcano erupting – all flights in Europe were canceled and I thought I was never going to get back home! All the trains were booked solid, I even called the US Embassy and they said that if Obama couldn’t fly then I couldn’t either. Luckily it cleared up enough and I was on the next plane back to France!
I hope you have a great time in the DR!

I am so sorry about your flight! It always seems like the ones your most excited about get cancelled or delayed! It happened to me flying to Ireland. They ended up delaying our flight 6 times and we missed the connection. We ended up missing a whole day in Dublin. =(. I hope the rest of your trip is fantastic!
