Some people can eat pasta everyday, pizza every day, or grilled chicken everyday. I am that way with salad. People give me crap for it, but frankly, I do not care because I simply love salads. I wouldn’t be able to eat the same salad everyday, and so I change it up. I like to top my salads with so many different things; sweet or savory, crunchy or chewy, hot or cold.

I thought I’d ask you guys what you put on your salads to get some more ideas and new creative ways to eat salads! Here is what you all came up with! I made the ones that stood out to me in bold! Those are the ones I’m dying to try! They all look good though!

  1. scrambled egg whites, boiled pita bread crumbs, bell peppers, mozzarella

  2. I love seaweed on my salads. I use to make one with wakame, walnuts and blood orange, with a soya sauce and olive oil dressing.
But my favourite salad is a warm one, with kale, roasted veggies like carrots, fennel, sweet potato, courgettes and grilled halloumi cheese. I love grilled halloumi cheese!

  3. I love BBQ chicken, roasted peppers, corn, beans, carmelized onions, chopped egg, turkey bacon, crushed up beanitos chips

  4. Surprisingly, you ought to try crunchy all natural peanut butter. I kid you not!!!!!! Dump that sh*t on there!

  5. My favorite thing ever is something warm on my ice cold lettuce! I just had warm walnut encrusted goat cheese on my salad the other day. It was the most amazing salad I’ve ever had! There was blackened chicken that was HOT and spicy. The mixture of the hot pieces with the ice cold lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers was perfect!

  6. Fried goat cheese, berries (any kind!), avocado, mozzarella (especially the herby kind in olive oil), on arugula is my favorite, but most especially if you top it off with a sunny side up or poached egg. Eggs make /everything/ better, especially salad. 😀

  7. I have a couple of fav salad recipes. Salads are so versatile and easy to make/eat.

I am currently on a big Greek food fix! To get this fix filled in a healthy way I take lots of spinach, diced cucumber, onion, red pepper, chickpeas (I loved roasting them to get them nice and crispy), goat cheese, and pita bread cut up. I make a simple dressing of olive oil and add some Greek seasoning to it. It’s amazing.

I also had a really unique salad the other day. It had red cabbage, matchstick carrots, lentils, pepitas, edamame, scallions and a lemon ginger dressing. It was pretty good!

Overall though, my absolute favorite combination is spinach, apples candied walnuts, cranberries and goat cheese.

  8. Chickpeas and roasted or steamed beets! I like to chop them up into little cubes.

I’m the same about salads! These are my two current favorites: Spinach, arugula cucumber, celery, red pepper, quinoa, chickpeas with asian sesame dressing and quinoa, arugula, feta, snap peas, raisins, capers, grape tomatoes, red peppers, spicy pecans with a sherry vinaigrette! Love your blog!

Another great salad is: kale, broccoli Cole slaw (Mann’s), dried cranberries, pumpkin seeds, green cabbage, uncooked sliced Brussels sprouts, hard boiled eggs with a poppy seed dressing.
