A lot of you have been asking me to post a “day in the life” post as to what I eat. To be honest, it changes everyday. Somedays I eat so healthy, somedays I eat junkie, and sometimes, I do a little big of both.
I decided to keep track of what I ate yesterday and post it for you guys. I don’t have pictures of everything, but most of it!
I’ve been back on track eating healthy, running again, and focussing on a summer body! Yesterday, I woke up and had a banana, 1/4 cup raw almonds, and coffee.
After my coffee and pre run fuel, I set out and went five miles with Grumples (all under 11 minutes). I am going to run 4.5 today, take a break tomorrow, and then run 5 miles on Sunday. I’m so motivated this time that I’m running on my birthday!
An hour after my run, I made blueberry oatmeal, and an omelet. This is just almond milk, whole grain oats, and blueberries!
My omelet had 8 egg whites and 1 yoke. I mixed in garlic and herb seasoning.
For lunch, I had a salad. I’m all about the salads this week. It helps me get on a clean start. My salad had croutons, romaine, roma tomatoes, avocado, and italian dressing. I had a couple hard boiled eggs on the side. They were boiling! I also had my afternoon cup of coffee.
Around five, I had an apple and all natural peanut butter as a snack.
Nick and I went to his little brother’s last basketball game of the season. I was so proud of them! They won by one basket! Woo Hoo!
After the game we went to an Italian restaurant. I stuck to my healthy eating, and found the willpower to order a grilled chicken salad. I did have a couple bites of Nick’s pizza, but o well 😉 It was day two of conquering the sweet tooth! This is getting easier. Now…lets just pray the birthday cake doesn’t ruin my progress!
I don’t know how you could NOT have taken a few bites of pizza! 😉
can’t deprive yourself 😉
Do you discard the yolks, Tara?
I save them for all kinds of things. Grumples eats two egg yokes a day (for his skin) theyre amazing for hair, and baking.
How do you give them to Grumples? Raw or baked into something or? Is it good for a dog’s dry skin? My fur baby is so itchy in the winter because his skin gets so dry, and I’ve been looking for a solution!
My vet said it helps the dry skin and it’s good for his joints. I will usually boil, or fry it up!
Can you post how your run your 5 miles in 11 minutes? It takes me like 45 minutes to run five miles so I would like to know your strategy so I can work up to it.Thank Taralynn! Love your blog!
lol not 5 miles in 11 minutes. All my miles were under 11 minutes. I don’t think anyone can run five miles in 11 minutes!
Ok I was super confused haha thanks for clearing that up. I was thinking you were super woman or something.
hahahaha superwoman in other aspects of the world.
So is coconut oil. My boys have a teaspoon of it, a bit of greek yogurt and their kibble. 🙂
Have a great weekend Tara!
Those salads looked good. Thankfully, you are making me want salad, which I haven’t craved in a while :p good job!
hahah thanks Kristin!
Hey, Tara! I love my flavored coffee at the coffee shop. What would you order that isn’t too fattening for someone that loves white chocolate(sugar addict here!).. Losing weight for my wedding.
You could always do a skinny mocha! (2 shots of espresso, skim milk, white chocolate 1/2 pump, tall/small)
That oatmeal looks INSANE!!!!
🙂 THANKS!
You said you are on day 2 of conquering the sweet tooth… just curious, are you cutting out the sweets cold turkey? However you are doing it, good luck and I’d love to hear your success tips!
Thanks, from a fellow sweet tooth junkie!
Healthy fats, good sources of protein, fruits, and vegetables. The best way to stay healthy. You are doing an awesome job! I keep my fingers crossed for you!
