Pumpkin protein cookies. That’s what I was excited about making and posting today, but unfortunately I shouldn’t have left the house thinking I was fine. So, instead of pumpkin cookies…you get one sick selfie. I have a problem with “resting” when I am supposed to, and because of that, I’m facing the consequences. I told you all yesterday that I was awaiting test, and unfortunately they didn’t come back too great, and so I’ll be going in again tomorrow to check progress and possibly figure out what the heck my body is doing. Luckily, I have millions of readers that wouldn’t mind sending me an 0 negative kidney, right? Kidding, well, kinda.
I guess this is a great lesson to listen to your body no matter what the situation is. If your foot hurts, don’t walk on it. If you have a fever, stay in bed. If your doctor tells you to rest…rest. Today, I’ve been tucked away in my bed or warming up in my bathtub with bubbles up to my nose. Being pale as a ghost should have been the indicator that going out was STUPID. But, I never admitted to being smart. Also, drinking that coffee? How dumb was that. Sometimes I wonder why I do the things that I do. Being sick always makes me want to be more cautious as to what goes into my body. I try to eat clean as much as I can, but being down here in the South, I’ve been dining out more. I should probably cut it out, and focus on whole clean foods.
I have an appointment at 8am tomorrow and will keep you guys updated! Hopefully I can get those cookies posted, the new giveaways up, and more!
Love you guys!
xo

You also may want to talk to your doctor about reducing your protein intake while you have a kidney infection.

I know people say this sometimes as just a gesture, but I am truly praying for you. Sick is miserable and I am sorry. I have a terrible immune system and am sick more often than I am well, but I’ve never had anything like you do. Hope you feel better. <3

Being sick is no fun at all. I hope you have a short recovery! It’s also beneficial to stay away from electronic devices–they might give you a headache. Drink lots of broth!

I’m having a sick day too! 🙁 It’s my second week at university and I’ve caught a bad case of freshers flu so had to call in sick to my lecture. I pray you get better and it isn’t too serious!

Feel better soon! I too have a problem resting when I am sick.

I wouldn’t beat yourself up about dining out. Dining out doesn’t make you sick, especially if you try to make healthier choices most of the time like you do.
I would make sure your honest with your doctors about your past anorexia. Kidney issues are a common side affect, even a few years down the road after recovery. It might help give insight to the best possible treatment if the doctor has your full medical history. I’ll keep you in my thoughts and hope you recover soon! Don’t deny yourself the fun of dining out with good friends in the future, you gotta live life! 🙂

Word! Don’t be so hard on yourself about eating out! It doesn’t have anything to do with kidney infections, which are bacterial.
I’ve had them before, and they really do take energy out of you and hurt/ache like hell. And they are scary, and they take awhile to treat sometimes. Try to rest up, drink water, and accept that you will be loopy from the sickness and the meds for awhile. Hopefully, you didn’t end up in the hospital for a stay like my friend did. 🙁
Anyway, take care. Your health is important.
Take care!

When you eat out, you eat (well, what you post anyhow!) is EXTREMELY healthy. No scary preservatives in that Stacks omelet or grilled chicken salad. My family eats out 3+ times a week, and never get any negative effects from it. I know all bodies are different, but that’s definitely not it.

Taralynn! Sorry you are sick! Kidney infections are the WORST! I have a history of eating disorders as well – please don’t don’t don’t beat yourself up about any “junk” food you have eaten lately- promise it’s not related!
Did you know that eating disorders can affect your body & esp immune system for a few years after? yep! Especially the sugar-free foods – it takes our bodies a few years to cleanse & remember you are building a SUPER healthy foundation for your body, mind & spirit! You are doing a great job & should be so proud of yourself! Enjoy your rest, you’ll be up & at ’em soon 🙂
thanks for being an inspiration for postivity & health & thanks for being honest in the tough days & about eating disorder struggles. <3 Megan
