Glazed Bacon Wrapped Little Smokies

Have you ever been invited somewhere last minute or got the call that guests are coming over shortly? Well, here is a recipe that my mom used to make all the time, and it takes about 30 minutes to prepare, and it’s a given crowd pleaser.

Emilee and I made these on Saturday to bring over to a football party. They lasted about twenty minutes on the table before they disappeared.  They were so good and simple to make. The only downfall is that they are extremely addicting. They’re the perfect football appetizer and go well with a frosty beer. I’ve made these every year since I was a kid during the fall.

If you are having a football brunch, you can replace the little smokies with sausage links and serve them with eggs and waffles.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Ingredients: *1 1/2 tablespoons of butter (or olive oil), *1 package of bacon, *2 packages of beef little smokies, *1/2 cup of light brown sugar, and *2 tbsps honey.

-Wrap the little smokies in one layer of bacon and add them to a greased baking dish.

-Sprinkle the brown sugar over the top of the little smokies. Use your fingers and massage the brown sugar into the little smokies. After massaging the brown sugar into the smokies, add honey over the top.

Bake the smokies in the oven for 22-24 minutes at 350 degrees.

If you have a large group coming over, you better make more because they won’t last very long! You can add toothpicks into the smokies to make it easier to serve.

  1. It looks great but I’ve been visiting your page for healthy recipes. Now I’m craving bacon 😀

  2. I like the incorporation of sugar lol. Do you think the baking time would be different if I used turkey bacon instead of regular bacon? My boyfriend doesn’t eat pork.
