Yesterday we skipped our normal workout and hit the outdoors for a hike.

Before my hike, I fueled up on some oats and crunchy peanut butter. I had about two bites, left the room, and when I cam back my oatmeal was gone. Grumples…

Crowder’s mountain is about an hour from where we live. So we took off around 11am. We had a long hike planned.

There were several trails you could choose from. We chose the hardest one…Ridgeline. We had to sign a form in order to hike it. They wanted to make sure we were alive by the time they all went home at night.

The trail started off pretty flat. It got super steep, but I love the challenge!

I couldn’t believe all the dogs that climbed the mountain. Grumples would have given up miles back.

Won’t lie…we stopped like every mile after the first couple. Those hills were killer.

But we finally made it to the top:) Unfortunately the top is only the end of the Pinnacle trail. Ridgeway had five more miles up.

I made it a point to flip onto every bench. I felt like being a spider monkey.

Someone knows whats up.

I’m not a huge sweater, but we were drenched by the time we got done. We had a pool with our name on it after our hike.

I made a mistake of not bringing my backpack. I just had one little bottle to last me. So if you ever plan on hiking the Ridgeline, bring more water! You can always pee in the bushes.

If that tree would have cracked in half….

After making it back down, we headed over to the lake where they have kaiaking. If we weren’t so exhausted we would have hopped on one! Maybe next time.

I love hiking Crowders. The top of Pinnacle is my favorite place in Gaston county. On a busy Saturday the trails can get pretty packed, but its so worth it. Do you ever take oranges or mandarins on your hikes? They always make me feel better if I run out of water and the peel is biodegradable. =)

Looks like you lucked out with weather! I went hiking this weekend too, but we got stuck in rain AND hail! The sun did come out for a little bit which was nice, but I guess that’s New England for ya!

I just hiked Crowder’s last weekend! We did one of the other trails, but the hike was still pretty tough! the views from the top are the coolest–i love that you can see the Charlotte skyline.

I love reading your blog! It always motivates me. My only complaint is that I’m old and even with reading glasses I have a hard time reading your posts. It’s the only blog I can’t stretch the screen to make font bigger on my iPad. Is there some trick?

I’m not sure if you’ve tried this, but if you hold the CTRL button and press the plus sign (+) it should make the font size increase on any web page! It worked for me 🙂

Hmmm, I can look into it! I might be able to boost up the size of the font. I’ll talk to the web designer:) XO

Love the blog! You are so inspiring. I am just starting my weight loss journey and have about 100 pounds to lose. I am just now starting to exercise. Any exercise suggestions for a beginner?
