I hope you are all in enjoying your Saturday. I wish I could say I was. But I’m still in excruciating pain from the deep tissue massage I had yesterday. The pain is equivalent to the aftermath of being hit by a bus or being trapped under an elephants leg. It took me five minutes to put my shirt on and I ditched my tennis shoes. I couldn’t imagine having to bend down to tie the laces. I really hope this is normal! Google told me it was, but we all know how reliable Google can be sometimes.
Now moving on to the positive part of the post. The yummy pumpkin protein shake! I am still in my pumpkin phase and will be until the new year! I absolutely love adding pumpkin to my protein shakes and wanted to share one of my favorites with you! This could be a great post workout snack or an Early morning Thanksgiving treat! You gotta get that protein fix if you plan on slaving in the kitchen all day! Mixing those taters takes a lot out of you.
Ingredients* 1 Scoop Vanilla Protein Powder, *1/3 Cup Pumpkin Puree, *1 Cup Ice, *1/4 Cup All Natural Apple Juice, *1/2 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk, *1/2 Medium Banana, *1 Packet Stevia, *1 Tbsp Pumpkin Pie Spice or Apple Pie Spice.
**Some people are not fans of bananas. If you are one of those people, simply replace the banana with an apple!
Blend all ingredients together! Add more milk or ice to create the perfect consistency!
Top with more pie spice, add a straw and get to slurpin’

Hi Taralynn!
I know this blog entry is almost two years old, but as a massage therapist I felt I needed to tell you that how you felt after your massage is and isn’t normal (if that makes sense lol). A little soreness can be expected after deep tissue, but the pain which you were describing is due to the massage therapist doing the strokes too quickly and causing micro tears in your muscles. Some therapist are taught that method, which is unfortunate. If you ever get deep tissue again, try a different therapist who knows to go slowly to reduce any muscle soreness.
Oops, that rant was a little longer than I expected!
Love your blog and this pumpkin recipe!
