Good Afternoon!
I hope you have all been doing great. It’s been a week since I’ve done a recap post and I told myself I wouldn’t let it go that long, but that’s life. I guess I should start where I left off. Last Thursday, Becca and I headed to the driving range to have a drink and hit some golf balls. Even if you cannot golf, hitting golfballs is the biggest stress reliever. Hitting a ball as hard as you want takes out a lot of built up frustration. I think I have Becca hooked now.
I had a lot of questions about where I got my pants. The pants are from Satva. I mentioned them a while back in a post, but instead of going back and looking for that post, here is the information for them..
Code for my readers: satva1 -the code is for 20% your next order! All of their items are organic and you can read their story here! The items are made from eco friendly cotton and non-GMO bio-ingredients. The clothes fit so perfectly and are true to size.
We planned on making tofu tacos for dinner, but it was around 8:30 pm by the time we finished hitting balls. We didn’t want to go grab ingredients, cook, and eat dinner later than 9:30, so we stopped at Bakersfield. You guys already know I love that place because it pops up in my blog all the time. I ordered the Johnny salad (per usual) and it came with mixed greens, bacon, cotija cheese, hearts of palm, avocado, red onion, toasted almonds, and a side of buttermilk chive dressing.
Friday morning, I headed out to pick up dog food and a couple new toys for my spoiled pup. He was satisfied for a bit.
For breakfast I had a green juice and three eggs over easy.
After breakfast, I took Grumples on his long walk. We go about three or four miles.
After our walk, we hopped in the car and headed to the juice bar. I grabbed a Matcha Green smoothie for lunch.
I brought some water and a blanket so we could go to the park and sit under a shade tree. It sounds really silly, but Grumples loves to watch people. I brought my book for class and we hung out for a couple hours.
I love trying all the Chia Bars. Coconut and cinnamon apple are my favorites, but this one was really good too!
Becca and I went to the driving range again on Friday night. I ended up cracking my driver…luckily I had some backups. I guess I was extra frustrated on Friday night…;)
We stopped at Carmelo’s to pick up some food. I got an antipasto and wings.
We hung out on my porch with the pups for about three hours drinking wine and listening to music. It was so nice out and we just wanted to chill.
Becca’s cute pup, Zade!
Early Saturday morning, we headed to the Amelie’s French Bakery in Rock Hill, SC. The one uptown is always packed and this one wasn’t. The weather was so nice that we couldn’t sit inside any longer.
This Amelie’s is a lot smaller and has an upstairs loft for college kids to study.
I could have sat in that spot people watching in the town all day.
I ordered dark roast coffee and a fruit and granola parfait. Their yogurt was SO good! I’m not sure it’s homemade, but I’d love to know the brand if not. It was so so so good. It almost tasted like a custard.
The granola on top had to be homemade. It was so crisp and sweet.
I ended up having three glasses of coffee that morning. Becca order the iced chai and she had two of those. We couldn’t get enough coffee!
Just to spend more time outside, we walked around the little downtown area.
All of the trees are blooming and the grass is officially green. It’s Spring 🙂
I love how quaint Rock Hill is and it’s never busy.
I’ve been waiting all year to break out the shorts!
After we left Rock Hill, we headed out to shop a bit. I ended up buying a new driver since I cracked my other one. I also picked up some new clothes. When I get home, I’m going to go through my clothes and get rid of all the ones I don’t wear. If you know any cool apps to resale clothes, let me know!
We were super hungry around 2pm. We decide do get all you can eat soup and salad from Olive Garden. I’m obsessed with their minestrone.
And they have the best salad. I always order their dressing on the side. I can’t do soggy lettuce.
Packing was hard..
Later on that night, we headed out to my parents house. They put together a hibachi bar for us. I got my dad a grill for Christmas and he was ready to put it to good use.
We picked up tofu to add to our hibachi bowls. My dad picked up the tofu and goes “oh, what kind of cheese is this?” As soon as I started laughing and said “it’s tofu,” he spit it out like a kid eating dark chocolate for the first time. It was hilarious.
The hibachi turned out fantastic!
Mine had shrimp, bell peppers, carrots, tofu, onion, squash, and sweet potato. It was cooked in olive oil, low sodium soy sauce, and garlic water.
My little beggar 🙂
We headed back to my place early so I could pack. Grumples stayed behind with my parents.
My flight ended up getting canceled because of fog. I headed back to my place to go for a run with Becca and her pup. I got on a later flight so that was good 🙂
We were all soaked from the rain!
Sometimes, it’s fun to go on a trip and just leave the camera behind. I’m always blogging about my travels and I decided to enjoy the moments with some friends. I decided to blog about my workouts and some eats, but that’s about it. I didn’t want to be obsessed with what was going on and writing about it. It’s not that I want to keep my life a secret, I just forget what it’s like to NOT be a blogger and I want to live it up for once. I’m not going complete silent, but just taking a breather. I think what we forget sometimes is that sharing every little detail can get stressful and no one is obligated to do that. I struggle a lot with learning what I should share on this blog and what I’m not obligated to share, you know? Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE sharing everyone with you guys, but I just need a quick breather with everything going on in my life. This is just a little getaway for me so when I get home, my mind is clear and I can go back to my normal lifestyle.
Sometimes you just have to go somewhere and enjoy the moments 🙂
I landed in Chicago for my connecting flight around 5pm.
My plane was delayed by two hours so I had some pineapple and yogurt. And three hours after that, they canceled the flight completely becuase of fog. I wasn’t having a good day for flights. The worst part was that Midway canceled all flights and all the flights were canceled the next morning or full that afternoon. I basically had to sit around around and wait for something to open up.
Also Southwest didn’t reimburse me for my flight or hotels so that was nice of them 🙂
I needed a glass of wine at this point, so I headed down for a glass of Pinot Noir and a goat cheese pear salad. That was an AMAZING salad!
I sat by the fire for a bit and tried to plan what I was going to do if I couldn’t get on a flight.
I woke up without a plan, so I just ordered room service. That fixes everything 🙂
By breakfast had wheat toast, eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, coffee, yogurt, and hash browns.
You can’t go wrong with breakfast in bed!
Finally I found a flight. I headed to the airport later in the afternoon.
I made it to my destination around 2pm!
I decided to use Grokker and fit in a quick workout.
For dinner I had three too many of these…
But at least I ate healthy…I got a salad with avocado, grilled chicken, bacon and egg. The cherry tomatoes were on the side for a reason.
I don’t even know what this was, but it was amazing. We all split dessert to end the night!
OH, and we all watched the Bachelor together. You can get all my opinions on Twitter! @taralynnstweets! 😀
Caught up on work with breakfast 🙂
My coffee addiction is getting bad again, so when I get home I’m cutting it!
I started the morning out with another workout! I home tomorrow and I’m excited for my race. I haven’t been running as much as I needed to be, so I probably won’t do too well, but thats ok!
You’ll hear from me Monday with a race & weekend recap! xo
- Have you ever wanted to vacation without sharing everything with the world?
- Have you ever had a flight cancelation disaster?
- What is the weather like today?
Marina @ Snackie Bird says
I totally understand your feelings! Being blogger is amazing, but sometimes girl need her time. I always cut my social media when I come home for vacation 😉
Taralynn McNitt says
Definitely 😀 Always nice to take a little break!
Lindsey Corasaniti says
Where did you get the shirt you are wearing in your airport picture? The one where you’re holding the pineapple?
Taralynn McNitt says
I actually got it at Marshalls 😀
Jennifer says
I use Poshmark to sell clothes and it works really smooth!
1. Absolutely. I graduated college and got a job, and there’s just some days that I think about leaving by myself to just take a breather on life because it can be so overwhelming. My roommate from college and I are going to NYC in June though and it’ll be my first time!
2. No flight cancellation disasters. However I did get my passport stolen in Spain when I was on a school trip. The class and a teacher left while me and my spanish teacher had to stay an extra night! Turns out the class had a 12-hr delay in the Chicago airport because of weather, so it ended up kind of being a win for me!
3. Cloudy and extremely windy here in MN! It’s been 60’s but it’s suddenly in the 40s for the next week with a chance of snow tomorrow 🙁 Spring is so close I’m itching for it!!
Taralynn McNitt says
Ill look into that! Thank you.
You’ll LOVE NYC!! 😀
Having my passport stolen is my worst nightmare. You got an extra night in spain and didn’t have to stay at the chicago airport! win for you!
Yikes stay warm in that snow!! 🙁
Manda A says
Love that shirt you’re wearing in your flight photo!
Taralynn McNitt says
Thank you!!!:)
Blair says
1. I don’t know if I’ve ever wanted a vacation to myself, I love to take them to escape my life and the rough patches.
2. I’ve never had a flight delayed but once I went to Texas from Charlotte for work and the return flight was a disaster. After getting in the air there was a funny smell that caused breathing to be hard and eyes to burn so they turned back to Texas and we ended up on the Tarmac for like 4 hours, they said it was nothing even though a bunch of passengers including me had to receive oxygen upon landing. Needless to say I won’t use that airline again.
3. Lastly today is gorgeous, a little warm. Looks like it’ll be sunny and 80 today. Gotta a little sunburn while walking this morning. What do you do to protect against the sun when walking outdoors?
Taralynn McNitt says
1. I agree 🙂 It’s nice to get away and sometimes it makes you appreciate home.
2 Yikes!! that sounds awful 🙁
3. Don’t forget your sunscreen! I just use sunscreen and hats !
stephanie says
Ugh- flying back from austin a couple weeks ago we were delayed by HOURS (flight was supposed to land in Detroit at 12:15am.. we didnt even end up taking off from our layover in nashville until 3am… also southwest. Used to love them but am frustrated with them lately. 🙁 enjoy your trip!
Taralynn McNitt says
Yikes i’d be exhausted!!
Hillary Danielle says
I decided like 2 weeks before hand that I was going to go on vacation, alone, last year. Well sort of. One of my best friends lives near Myrtle Beach, SC so I decided to fly down there and stay for a week, even though she worked most days, she allowed me to borrow her car and go to the beach after I dropped her off at work. Being able to vacation alone, and not share it all through social media, except for maybe 1 or 2 beach pictures, was unbelievably stress relieving. I was extremely content with just having music playing, sitting/laying on the sand by myself and being able to enjoy the sun and time for me.
With that same vacation, it was my first (and still currently only) time flying, not to mention I was by myself. My flight wasn’t cancelled, but as soon as I got dropped off at the airport I was already on a 2 hour delay. I was supposed to land in Myrtle Beach by 9:00pm that night, after all was said and done with delays, we didn’t even take off until 1:30am. It was only a little over an hour (and thankfully direct) flight, but it was the longest wait ever (thankfully flying home we actually left about 10 minutes early and landed on time). While sitting at the airport trying to fly to Myrtle, the airport ended up ordering us all pizza.
As for today in Ohio, it is sunny and in the 60’s but extremely windy.
I hope you have a great vacation!
Taralynn McNitt says
That actually sounds like an amazing little getaway and Myrtle is fun. I think I’m going to do that this year since I live so close.
At least you got there and pizza makes everything better!!
Stay warm!! xo
ash says
I’ve been waiting for one of your recap posts 🙂 Saving it for my morning coffee!
Taralynn McNitt says
Enjoy!:)
Emily B says
Good for you going and just enjoying your trip and taking a breather! We all need to take that kind of time.
1. Before, not so much. My husband and I went to Disney World a few years ago and he wanted to make it a “social media free” trip…which I could just NOT do because it was Disney and I was too excited and wanted to post everything! We went to DC last summer and he again wanted to make it social media free. We compromised and I posted some pics and tried to refrain from going on social media and just being in the moment..but it was a lot harder than I thought. And I later regretted all the time I spent posting or sneaking time spent on Instagram or Facebook. It sometimes amazes me how we can get so caught up in social media and forget the world and experiences around us.
2. Not like you just had! Yikes! I’ve been pretty lucky thus far in life and have only ever had delayed flights. My husband once had a major cancellation disaster a few years ago trying to get to Spain for a missions trip though…
3. 37* in my small town in North Dakota. We had an incredibly nice week last week in the 50-60s and all of our snow melted…but it’s supposed to be cold again this week. And probably snowy. Such is life in the upper Midwest 🙂
Enjoy the rest of your trip!
Taralynn McNitt says
I agree emily!:)
It’s definitely hard to NOT post!! It’s fun to take a lot of photos and post them all later sometimes !
Hope you just knocked on wood!!
YIKES SO COLD!!!
Brittany says
As much as I love your blog I fully think you are entitled to go off the grid whenever you like! I hope you have a great trip and fun run! It’s beautiful out here in Indiana today but super windy so I am procrastinating my walk
Taralynn McNitt says
Thanks so much Brittany! Sometimes I just need to hear it from you guys:) Not sure why I get so worried about it. Go out and enjoy that walk!!
Carolyn says
1. That is what I plan to do on my next trip! My boyfriend and I are going out of town for my birthday and I plan on leaving my phone in the room for most of the trip!
2. I’ve had a 5 hour delay before, never a cancelled flight.
3. So glad it is finally shorts weather! I have missed sitting outside for lunch and dinner
Taralynn McNitt says
That’ll be a nice getaway 🙂 You guys are so cute. This is like my 10th canceled flight in three years. I have great luck. YES!:) I agree!!
Mechela says
Glad you remembered to take a breather! It is good for the mind and soul. Do it as much as you like!
1. I don’t like to post about my vacations (not a blogger so just on FB). 1. because I don’t like people knowing where I am going and when I am not at home. 2. because I feel bad because I have a lot of friends and family that would like to travel but cannot for numerous reasons. 3. Because it is ME time and I just want to be able to focus on the trip and people I am with.
2. I fly back home to England once a year and my first time I went by myself without my parents (at 18) my flight at JFK kicked me off and said all seats were filled. When another family after me were able to get on with no problem. They wouldn’t give me a hotel and wouldn’t guarantee a flight the next day. Luckily I got one but I missed my ride from London up to Manchester and had to catch a train and didn’t get to the house until 3am! Needless to say, I cried.
3. The weather here in Georgia is slightly cloudy but warm 80 degrees. So much pollen though!
Taralynn McNitt says
Thanks Mechela!
1. Those are great reasons not to post.
2. THAT SOUNDS LIKE A DISASTER! I’d be in tears! You’re so tough!! goodness.
3. 80’s for the win!!!
Lori Shaffer says
I’ve always wanted to go on vacation to a little house in the mountains or a cottage on the beach and totally unplug from everything…including the television! So there’s nothing wrong with not sharing in my book!
Believe it or not I’ve never flown anywhere!!
The weather here in NC is beautiful as you probably already know!! Hope you have a nice trip! Relax, unwind and laugh as much as you can!!
Taralynn McNitt says
That sounds amazing and you should do it!
There is a first time for everything 🙂 Fly to that little house in the mountains or on the beach somewhere.
Can’t wait to be back in NC! Miss my pup and friends!
Kelsey says
I use ThredUp to resale my clothes. You can get a decent return, and also, they donate what they can’t sell online – so it’s a definitely bonus! Here’s where you can sign up: http://www.thredup.com/r/OBPQRN
I love your update posts, but I can totally understand needing to just take a step back and live!
Taralynn McNitt says
That is pretty awesome. I’ve used thredup but never sold anything.
Thanks so much for understanding! xo
Rachael says
1. I like to explore on vacations so generally I end up sharing quite a few pictures but during my vacation, my phone ends up on airplane mode or something. I feel wayyy too connected with my phone and social media so it is always nice to just tune it all out. It is a good way to de-stress! Glad you were able to get away 🙂
2. Luckily, I’m still going strong with no flight cancellations. I have been the last flight they let out on a couple of occasions and the turbulence made me wish I had been cancelled or delayed …
3. It has been so warm and spring like for weeks in Vail, CO but just this week it is winter again. The cold up here is still much different than in MI (where I’m from) because of the elevation and dry climate, but this girl is ready for summer!
Taralynn McNitt says
I share all the time, but it’s nice to just cut it off for once 🙂
Turbulence is always a fun one! 😀
Vail is on my go-to bucket list!!
Bennie says
Just curious – what are you going to school for? It sounds like that trip was frustrating waiting for the connecting flight. I hope you had a nice trip.
Taralynn McNitt says
Hi Bennie:) I havent share that with anyone. It’s the type of stuff I like to keep private 🙂
The connecting flight definitely stunk!
Bennie says
Oh no worries, I totally understand. I was just curious. Since you are so health minded my mind naturally went to nutrition and personal training but you might be going in a totally different direction, I’ll just have to wait and find out. Take it easy and don’t study too hard. 😉
Steph says
Did you say Southwest DIDN’T reimburse you for flights or hotels? That just doesn’t sound like them at all 🙁
Steph says
Did you say Southwest DIDN’T reimburse you for your flight or hotel!? That just doesn’t sound like them at all 🙁
Taralynn McNitt says
Nope, I usually love flying with them and never fly with anyone else. I mean, they canceled my flight twice and then had zero connecting flights for me…so it kind of sucked, but maybe if I write customer service, they can at least do something about my flight.
Imogen says
I see what you mean about privacy! I sometimes want to step back from social media altogether as it just seems like we all get a little too obsessed with how we portray our life online that we forget how to live it, you know? I’d rather see the world through my eyes than be looking at it from behind a screen! You should enjoy vacation without having to remember to tell us about everything, you choose what you share! I guess it’s just balance like everything!
What race are you doing? The weather in the U.K. Has been sunny but still very cold! Wish it was warm enough for shorts!
Taralynn McNitt says
Yeah, I know exactly what you mean! 🙂 & thank you for understanding. I’m doing just a little 5k fundraiser race. Nothing too big! I’m definitely not built to do races lol I hate them. Hope you get some warmth soon!
Heather @ Polyglot Jot says
yeah, its so nice to step away sometimes! Glad you had a nice breather! When i went on my cruise and our phones didnt work and we didnt have internet connection at all it was amazing!!!
Taralynn McNitt says
I bet that was super nice!:)
Emily says
I love seeing Rock Hill in your posts! My boyfriend lives there and I love exploring downtown Rock Hill every time I visit, it’s so cute! The Amelie’s there is my favorite also 🙂 I’m in Scotland for the month and it’s cold, gray, and rainy here so I’m jealous of the spring weather there at home!
Taralynn McNitt says
I love Rock Hill 🙂 I’d rather be in Scottland! That sounds like a blast 🙂
Lindsay Edwards says
For selling clothes try ThredUp! They’re pretty great.
Taralynn McNitt says
Thanks!!
Megan says
Where did you get your shoes?
Taralynn McNitt says
The blue tennis shoes are from Bass & co and the black nikes are from Dick’s sporting goods!
Erin says
Yes! Me and my boyfriend take a lot of weekend trips and I get annoyed when I come back and everyone at work asks me a million details about my vacay! I’m glad you got to enjoy yours, love your recap posts though!
The weather today is a sunny 85 degrees in Phoenix!
Taralynn McNitt says
Thank you Erin! Gorgeous day sounds like!!! i love AZ
Kimberly says
I’ve sold a bunch on Poshmark! It really easy to use too.
Taralynn McNitt says
Thanks! I’ll look into it!
Melissa says
Not sure if someone mentioned this already, I havn’t read through the comments – but I thoroughly enjoyed the picture you took referencing Fallout 😉 lol. Was that just a poster in town?
1. YES!! My mom and I took a trip in January to Orlando and I made a point to tell her I did not want pitcures of me posted all over Facebook. Sometimes the world doesn’t need to know what we’re up to! 🙂
2. I havn’t thankfully! I would be so stressed out, I dont deal with change well lol. Your room service looked delicious though!
3. Here today it has been pouring rain all day and then the last hour or two bright and sunny on and off every 30 minutes…. between more rain lol. I managed to squeeze a run into one of those bright moments – so yay! But it is around 10°C (around 50°F) so either way, Spring has arrived and I’m happy!
Good luck in your race this weekend!
Taralynn McNitt says
That was just a poster on a building! 🙂 an actually place lol My friend noticed it first.
1. I completely agree!!:)
2. Oh, it was 😉 There is always a positive!
3. Hopefully it clears p soon! March showers bring…
Hilary says
I could not agree more with you! Sometimes you just need some time to disappear from the world to get back to yourself again! Great decision and hope you have a great time on your getaway!
Taralynn McNitt says
Thanks Hilary!!:) xo
Jen says
where did she go
Jaime says
Taralynn! I’ve been waiting for this recap 🙂
1. I’m always trying to be off grid with my vacations but #moms force me to send too many selfies and exact locations. I don’t think that will change no matter how old I am!
2. No horrible delays, I’ll knock on wood!
3. Dallas was 80 degrees and beautiful today.. I broke put the tank top and shorts and am now lathering on the aloe.. Aparently my skin wasn’t ready for this darn Texas sun!
Keep your chin up! We all love you and are sending you good vibes!
Taralynn McNitt says
Hi Jaime!:)
1. lol my parents have asked me to do the same like then times.
2. GOOD, was just about to say that.
3. Wow, sounds like a beautiful day. Don’t forget that sunscreen 😀

Yes, sometimes it is really nice to get away without telling anyone! That rarely happens for us, but still. 🙂
We went to the Dominican Republic a couple of years ago and our plane out of Omaha was quite late which got us into Atlanta late, coupled with severe storms in Atlanta, our flight was cancelled. We ended up having to stay the night in Atlanta and fly out the next day in regular economy seats instead of our first class seats that we had booked. Bummer!! Half of our group had to re-route to New York and spend the night to catch a flight the next day to the DR. They landed in Santo Domingo which is a couple of hours away from Punta Cana by shuttle bus. We finally all got together that night. It was a pain and frustrating but we still talk about it and can laugh about it now.
Beautiful weather here in south central Nebraska today….blue skies, sunny and crisp. Spring has sprung!!
Taralynn McNitt says
Exactly 🙂
That sounds like one heck of an adventure, but the DR is totally worth it! I’m sure you guys had a blast!!
Enjoy your day! xo
Jessica says
Your hair is getting so long!
Taralynn McNitt says
It needs a cut! Weekend plans 🙂
Jessica says
Sometimes I do just want to take off for a week and relax on the beach and maybe some day I will do just that!
Since moving to Connecticut, whenever I go anywhere by flying it has been a disaster. I have spent too many nights sleeping in airports hoping to make it on to an early flight the next day just to get off the plane and go directly to work. The airlines have never reimbursed me for a hotel either so I have had to be creative and find places to sleep in the airport. That’s always fun! It’s almost a guarantee that my flight will be delayed to a point that I will probably need to rebook my connection. I could go on and on about stories that are funny now but at the time super stressful. 🙂
It’s been rainy and in the mid-50’s here lately. It’s going back to colder weather soon which I am not looking forward to but hopefully spring is around the corner!
I hope you had a great vacation! It’s always nice to take some time for yourself.
Taralynn McNitt says
I’m thinking about doing that sometime soon.
Yeah, that is all a disaster.
Spring is coming 🙂 I can feel it!
xo xo

Ah, I’ve totally contemplated taking last-minute trips somewhere. The most spontaneous was a couple of years ago, I was a Bridesmaid in a friend’s wedding Valentine’s weekend (and my birthday weekend) in FL. I was living in DC and had flights booked out Friday afternoon to go to the wedding. A giant storm hit the entire east coast, and on Tuesday we found out that nearly every flight out for the rest of the week was canceled… except ours! We took a gamble Tuesday night and at 1am we rented a car and drop through the night (and day) to Orlando, basically racing the ice storm down the east coast. Our flight to FL was canceled & refunded (covered the rental car!). I got to spend 2+ extra days in FL with friends and family without having to take vacation days because DC shut down due to the storm!
Luckily, none of my flight delays have been THAT delayed… but that room service looks heavenly!
It’s hot and humid in FL… overcast and in the 80s. Woof. Of course it’s supposed to rain all weekend so no beach or pool for me.
Taralynn McNitt says
You lucked out in that situation!!
The room service was delicious! 😀
It’s supposed to rain here too 🙁 Movies I guess!

I’ve tried a few different online places to sell clothes and shoes, but half the time I find that it can be so complicated and time consuming that I give up and just donate everything. That being said I’ve recently discovered thredup.com , which I love because it is so easy. Basically they send you a bag to fill with prepaid postage. Once you send the bag back they decide what they can consign and donate the rest (although you can have them send it back for a fee if you’d rather).
It can be so hard in this day an age to not share everything with the world! I know on my honeymoon I specifically tried hard to not get caught up in sharing and pictures, instead just focused on being in the moment and enjoying a beautiful place! Not sharing every detail now makes that place much more special and ‘yours’.
Having traveled quite a bit, I have had my fair share of flight cancelation disasters. The worst (at the time… now a comical story) was when I was meeting my family in Prague. They were all flying from Colorado with a layover in New York, we were then supposed to be on the same flight from New York through Germany to Prague. My flight was slightly delayed getting off the ground from Boston, so I missed the connection. And they wouldn’t rebook me onto the next flight because of an airline strike in Germany. So I was sent through Spain with a 9 hour layover alone while my family was in Prague with no idea where I was or what I was doing (major communication barrier with spotty wifi in foreign countries/airports). When I finally landed in Prague and saw my family I had never been so relieved and excited to get out of the airport!!
The weather here today is SUNNY, so I plan to spend ALL day outside, because there are rumors on the news that we might get up to 8 inches of snow on Sunday! :O
Taralynn McNitt says
I can’t wait to try ThredUp!
& I bet it was hard during the honeymoon, but good that you got to spend that moment with your loved one! We sometimes forget what vacations are Really for.
That would put me in a stress coma! Sounds awful 🙁 You’re a champ tho!!
Hope you got to spend time out in the sun and EW FOR SNOW! It’s cold here and rainy today, so don’t feel so bad!
Rachel says
Great post as always!!!!
I am a photographer so it is very hard for me to travel without my camera. I have to take pictures of every square inch especially when I am on vacation. I have never had a flight canceled, but one time I was traveling to Arizona for spring break to visit my boyfriend and my flight was supposed to be 11am and the snow pushed the flight back till 1 in the morning. I was stuck at the airport by myself for 13 hours! It was awful. Today it is actually snowing really hard! I am stuck at work and what to hurry home and cuddle up under a blanket on the couch!
Taralynn McNitt says
Hey Girl! 🙂
I’d love to see some of your photos! I’m always in awe of photographers. I love hearing everyones travel stories too becuase it makes me feel less bad about uncontrollable situations!
Hope you had a great weekend!
Sarah says
The worst flight-related disaster i’ve ever had was when i was flying home from my first year of university. I had been awake for over 24 hours (can never sleep before a flight) and got to the airport to find out my flight was overbooked and I didn’t have a seat. Ended up getting rebooked on a flight 6 hours later including a 3 hour layover but not before crying my eyes out to the airline representative due to a combination of homesickness, exhaustion, and frustration. Thankfully I did get a flight voucher + free food at the airport.
The weather here today is snowy and cold with a snow storm on the way. Perks of living in canada! 🙁
Taralynn McNitt says
Yeah that is the worst! 🙁 Glad you finally got home though!!
Hopefully you warm up soon. We are getting some cooler weather today! 🙁
Jessie says
I love all your post I am long time follower,I wanted to let you know I love Vinted for selling clothes it’s very easy to use.

So i have been wanting to ask you this for some time, how do you keep yourself entertained while running on the treadmill? i want to run for a longer time and even walk more but i just get so bored after some time that i just give up.
Would love a few tips.:)

The treadmill sucks. I can’t even lie, i HATE IT and it’s hard to keep myself on it. I just make sure to have a kick-ass playlist and maybe a tv in front of me. They stink 🙁 lol It’s basically forcing myself to finish.

When you are holding the yogurt and pineapple, I LOVE the top bangle on your left wrist! How is the tattoo healing, I am working on my 8th tattoo and have found that Tattoo Goo or A&D ointment does wonders for keeping the color fresh. Love your blog!

Thank you!!
That tattoo is all healed up 🙂 Just have to keep adding lotion! & thanks for the tip! xo

Hi Tara! I don’t have Instagram, but I wanted to ask where you got that white long sleeved sweater/shirt you’re wearing in several of your recent Instagram pictures! It’s so cute!
