This easy sausage stuffing has been in our family for decades! Made with just 5 simple ingredients, it’s a savory and comforting side dish that’s perfect for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner—a classic favorite everyone loves.
In a large skillet, fry the sausage until cooked through. Transfer the sausage to a separate bowl, but leave the remaining grease and browned bits in the pan.
Add the chopped celery and onion to the same pan. Cook until the vegetables are tender and the onions start to turn slightly golden.
Once the vegetables are cooked down, add the sausage back into the pan and cook for an additional minute to combine the flavors.
Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish (I highly recommend using glass or ceramic) and pour in the bag of stuffing cubes.
Pour the sausage and vegetable mixture over the stuffing cubes. Gently fold everything together. Then pour about ¾ of the chicken broth evenly over the mixture. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
Remove the foil, pour the remaining broth around the edges, and bake for another 15-20 minutes — or until the top and edges are lightly golden. You can give it a gentle stir halfway through. I like to do this to help get the center cooked evenly.
