This healthy maple apple crisp is made with tender cinnamon-spiced apples and a crunchy oat topping. Naturally sweetened with pure maple syrup, it’s gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, and made without refined sugar. An easy and delicious fall dessert!
Prepare the apple filling: Peel and chop the Honeycrisp apples into evenly sized pieces. Add them to a large bowl and toss with the gluten-free flour, cinnamon, and pure maple syrup until evenly coated.
Make the oat crisp topping: In a separate bowl, combine the oats, gluten-free flour, cinnamon, and sea salt. Add the melted coconut oil and pure maple syrup, then stir until the mixture is well combined and crumbly.
Assemble: Spread the apple mixture evenly in a 9×5-inch baking dish. Sprinkle the oat crisp topping evenly over the apples.
Bake: Bake for about 40 minutes, or until the topping is golden and the apple filling is bubbling around the edges. The apples should be tender when pierced with a fork.
Cool: Let the apple crisp cool for 20–30 minutes before serving. This allows the filling to thicken slightly as it cools.
