A Trip to Savannah Georgia with Lexus!
We just got back from one of the most fun trips with Lexus down in Savannah Georgia. They invited my husband and me to experience the TX 500h F Sport AWD and spend time with other amazing people while exploring the gorgeous city of Savannah. If you are not new here, you know we visit Savannah often. It is especially meaningful to us because it was the first place my husband and I ever vacationed together. I am sure that post is somewhere on the blog. This time, we tried some new places (& of course a few of our favorites.)

We are currently in the market for another car now that our family is expanding, so we were thrilled to test drive the TX 500h F Sport AWD from Charlotte North Carolina down to Savannah. It was such a smooth and luxurious drive, and after a week driving it, I had a hard time saying goodbye. In this blog post, I will be sharing everything we did while visiting Savannah with Lexus, and I hope it inspires you to check out a Lexus vehicle or even rent one to try out. Can you believe this was the first time I have ever driven or even ridden in a Lexus?
I got super lucky somehow and managed to visit Savannah three times in the past two weeks. Even with how often we travel here, there is always more to see, more restaurants and coffee shops to try, and it feels like there is always a new bed and breakfast popping up.
After dropping off my son at school, we packed up the Lexus, picked a playlist, and I tried my best not to drink water so we would not have to stop every five minutes because road tripping eight months pregnant is not for the weak. Then we made our way to our favorite city.

I truly think traveling to Savannah in late fall and early winter is ideal. We usually visit in the summer, and the weather during this trip was absolutely perfect. And the Christmas decor was stunning. We may just have to make it a new tradition to visit every December, and not in the middle of the summer!
We arrived just in time for lunch, and I was so proud of myself because we made it the entire drive with zero stops. The drive down in the TX 500h F Sport AWD was incredibly smooth and comfortable, and it is going to be hard going back to my car. I told my husband that anytime he wants, he can just put a big bow on it and say Merry Christmas. I wouldn’t be upset about it!
We stopped at one of our favorite lunch spots, Collins Quarter. We usually go for dinner to order their chicken, but this time we decided to try something new from the menu. I ordered the salmon with roasted potatoes and broccoli, and my husband had the roasted chicken and quinoa bowl. Everything was just as good as we remembered, and the Christmas decor inside was so cozy and festive.

We had some time to spare before heading to the hotel to check in, so we laced up our walking shoes, set out to find a coffee spot, and explored Savannah a bit. We also needed to pick up a few small Christmas gifts for our son, and I knew Savannah’s toy stores and gift shops would be the perfect place to find something special.
The first thing we did was head to River Street. We had not visited in a while, so we popped into all the shops and treated ourselves to praline and fudge samples.
We walked a few miles before heading to one of our favorite coffee spots, The Coffee Fox. I love their protein bites and whole milk cappuccinos. We had a late dinner planned for the evening, so I was totally fine with dosing myself with some delicious caffeine.

After our coffee, we walked back to the car to head to the hotel. One thing I love about Savannah is that there is parking everywhere. Our hotel also offered valet parking, which is a win in my book.
I was so excited because we were staying at Hotel Bardo, a newer hotel in Savannah that I have been eyeing since it opened last year. The hotel is as perfect in person as it is online.
I was so excited to check in and rest for a few hours before heading out to dinner with the rest of the group traveling with Lexus.
I took a quick shower, turned on Holiday Baking Championship, and propped my feet up for the next few hours. The room was so comfortable and decorated so cute. As a parent, you never realize what just two hours of laying alone with no responsibilities can do for you. I always took that for granted, so even though I missed my sweet boy, it was really nice to just lay there with no one needing anything from me.

Later that evening, I got up and got ready for the walk to dinner. I seriously walked more on this trip than I have in weeks, and I am proud of myself for keeping up. We met everyone down in the lobby and headed out on a stunning walk through Savannah, surrounded by festive lights glowing all around the city.
We had dinner upstairs in the Shower Room at The Grey. We had never eaten here before, but after that dinner, we will absolutely be back.
We started with a delicious salad, and I loved that everything was served family style on large platters. It was exactly the kind of food I’ve been craving.
I also ordered a really delicious fruity mocktail.

The steak, halibut, potatoes, salad, and every dish we tried was incredible. The star of the show was the pecan brownie pie. I would easily put it in my top five best desserts I have ever had. I did some research over the past few days on recipes for it, and I am going to pick one to make for Christmas Day to serve alongside dinner.
Meeting and chatting with everyone from Lexus and some of the other media outlets was truly the highlight of the night. We had so much fun sitting around the big table together. By the time we walked back to the hotel, it was around 11 pm, which is about three hours past my usual bedtime since I usually fall asleep with my toddler every night. Even so, it was such a fun night out, and I slept amazingly. I was up at 6 am and ready for the delicious coffee they were serving down in the lobby.

When my husband got back from the gym, we got ready and headed to Flora and Fauna for a quick breakfast before meeting everyone for our guided walking tour with Noble Jones Tours.
Flora and Fauna was the cutest little cafe, and the food was so fresh and flavorful. I loved the farm to table style menu, and we were so excited to try several items. I am definitely adding this spot to my Savannah travel guide roundup because it is a must visit. It is also very close to Hotel Bardo.
We ordered fried eggs, the most delicious butternut squash and kale quiche, which I need to recreate at home as soon as possible, a fruit and yogurt parfait that was amazing with green apple, mint, and local honey, extra crispy bacon, and yummy whole milk cappuccinos.
The pastries looked amazing, but I was trying to pace myself with the sweets after that pecan brownie pie I had the night before. I did snag some really cute little stocking stuffers that my son is going to love from their shop.

After breakfast, we met back in the hotel lobby for our guided walking tour with Noble Jones Tours. After all our visits to Savannah, I cannot believe I had never taken a walking tour before, and honestly, I think that is a disservice to the city. We learned so much history about the places we walk by all the time, and our guide was absolutely incredible and so knowledgeable about Savannah. We learned so much from her! And we still have so much to learn, so I think adding a walking tour to our next trip will be a must.
Plus, when you’re on the walking tour, you get to explore so many stunning streets and buildings.

One of the most beautiful streets in downtown Savannah, in my opinion, is Jones Street. The Spanish moss lined oak trees create a gorgeous canopy over the old cobblestone road. All of the homes are in picture perfect condition, and it feels especially magical at Christmas time with the decorations.

After our tour, we headed to Asher and Rye. I was so happy to be trying out all of these new spots in Savannah. I can be a bad traveler sometimes and stick to the places I already know and love. A few people from Lexus told us the coffee was amazing, so we were set on trying it that afternoon.
I could not get enough of Asher and Rye. The space was stunning, the coffee shop was a baker and coffee lover’s dream, and everything was so aesthetically pleasing. They could have had bad coffee and desserts and I still would have wanted to go back and spend the day there. If you are ever in Savannah, please add this cute and quaint spot to your itinerary.
Of course, when I love a place, I have to take a billion photos of it.
I was not even in the mood for a pastry, but when I saw the maple cinnamon roll in the glass case, I swear it winked at me and told me to order it. A maple iced anything has my name all over it, and paired with our whole milk lattes, it was perfection. They warmed up the cinnamon roll, and we sat out on their patio by the fire, enjoying a little rest time. I was still going strong after all the walking.

Maybe I should add maple buttercream to my sourdough cinnamon rolls for Christmas this year?

After walking back to the hotel, we had valet grab our TX 500h F Sport AWD so we could head out to Wormsloe to walk the tree lined avenue. Wormsloe Historic Site is one of the most famous spots near Savannah and is famous for its breathtaking avenue of live oak trees draped in Spanish moss. The oak trees were planted in the late 1800s, and the place holds so much history.
Exploring Savannah in the TX 500h F Sport AWD was such a treat. If we ever had our entire family with us, all of the rows would make it an incredibly comfortable fit. You have to watch the video in my Reel, or the video embedded in this blog post, to hear my son’s commentary. He is such a car lover and was absolutely hilarious. Jokes aside, this car truly felt like a luxury to drive. I can completely understand why Lexus owners absolutely love their cars.
The ride was not only smooth, but it also minimized noise and vibrations, making it so comfortable to drive, especially on the highway. The kids would sleep like babies on a roadtrip in this Lexus. The space alone in this vehicle is what truly sold me.
After Wormsloe, we headed to my favorite spot for sandwiches in Savannah, Urban Deli. I cannot visit Savannah without being an Urban Deli repeater. My two favorite things there are the Jala Berry kombucha from Dalai Sofia and the prosciutto sandwich.
With all the walking, this pregnant lady had not eaten enough and needed something to hold me over before dinner, so Kyle and I headed back to the hotel to watch some tv and split a sandwich. Honestly, what is better than that?

After heading back to the hotel and getting a little rest, it was time to head down to the lobby and make our way to Saint Bibiana for their cooking class. I have done a few cooking classes over the years, but this one was nothing like the others. The setup was genius.
Instead of individual workstations, there was one large shared kitchen where everyone could be hands on with the chef or relax with a drink or some charcuterie while others cooked. It was such a fun and unique concept, and I would absolutely love to participate in something like this again.

Everyone in the group was hands on with the head chef, and he was such a talented and cool guy with an incredible knowledge of food. He had such an easy and laid back demeanor. I do not know why all chefs on shows look so stressed, because he was calm and collected the entire time. I would be freaking out if I had more than twenty people to feed while handing out tasks, so I guess that is why he gets paid the big bucks.
We all worked together to make amazing chicken, lentils, and potatoes, homemade pasta, yes people were literally making pasta during the class, a huge farm to table salad with dressing that my husband made, and I was actually so impressed with Kyle. He usually hates cooking at home, but there he was preparing chicken, cutting potatoes, and whipping up salad dressing. Now I am expecting this level of effort at home.
Of course, I was excited to get hands on with baking the almond cookies with a few of the girls, and Bianca and I fully took over the Parmesan grating. This was one of my favorite nights of the trip, and I cannot wait to visit Savannah again and take another cooking class at Saint Bibiana Cooking School. The menu felt sophisticated, the cooking felt relaxed, and I loved every second of it.

I was so full after the amazing meal, and thank goodness I only had to crawl upstairs to take a shower and go to bed. I do not think I could have walked around with a food coma after that meal. The chef truly outdid himself. Thank you so much, Lexus for treating us to an amazing few nights with experiences that we’ll never forget!

And of course, after a meal like that, I slept like a baby. We got up early to pack and get ready for a morning of breakfast and shopping before heading back home. We had breakfast plans with some new friends we met, and I loved finding out that they live only about twenty minutes from us in Charlotte and that our toddlers are the same age.
I am sure you have heard of the incredibly talented Bianca Henderson. She creates amazing content, and you absolutely have to follow her. We met so many amazing people on this trip.

I had to snap a few last photos of the hotel with my camera before we left. I already know I will be planning a trip back here one day. Just look at how stunning this space is. Their coffee in the lobby also gets a ten out of ten. I have never had better coffee at a hotel before, and waking up to a complimentary coffee bar with pastries, mugs, and to go cups felt like such a treat. It really is the small things like that that bring me so much joy.
Did I mention the pool is heated? That means swimming all year round, and yes please.

It was so nice that we checked all of our bags with valet so we could walk to breakfast, even though we were staying past checkout time.

When I saw Sunday Sunday pop up as a brunch spot, I knew I had to add it to the day’s itinerary before heading home. It is a newer spot in Savannah and is so stunning inside. The interior and exterior honestly look like a movie set. Whoever designed this restaurant is absolutely out of this world.
Even before fully looking over the menu, I could not wait to get inside. I think my only complaint is that they do not open until ten, because if I am doing breakfast, I want it at seven am. That said, it was completely worth the wait.
I do not think I had a bad cup of coffee in Savannah during the entire trip. This whole milk cappuccino was no exception. It was amazing.
We started with the Sunday egg rolls and the avocado fresh rolls. Both were very good, and I loved how fun it was to see food like this offered at a breakfast spot. The menu featured Vietnamese inspired recipes with American and French influences, and it truly felt like the best of all worlds.
For my meal, I ordered the lemon pancakes. I do not usually order pancakes unless they are for my toddler, but these sounded too good to pass up. They were lemon flavored, topped with lemon mascarpone cream and warm blueberries. It’s words like “mascarpone” that will get me to say yes to anything. I also ordered extra crispy bacon, which was exactly how I like it. The food was incredible, and I would absolutely go back again if I were in Savannah.

Everyone at our table enjoyed their meals and there was not a single complaint. The service was also fantastic. I would definitely recommend making a reservation, because we got lucky going during a slower time and they fill up very quickly.

After breakfast, it was time to burn off some of the caffeine and sugar from the pancakes and get in a little walking and shopping.
I grabbed a bunch of amazing stocking stuffers while exploring Savannah. Lots of pirate themed gifts for my little pirate lover, chocolates from The Paris Market, which is another gorgeous spot to pop into, and for myself, a variety of honey, which is my favorite daily treat.

This was truly one of my favorite trips to Savannah. We were able to explore the city in a new way, not only with the incredible Lexus TX, but alongside new and talented people. It was so wonderful meeting new friends, and I left feeling inspired by everyone and incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be part of this trip.
Thank you so much to Lexus for gifting us a trip like this. It was such a special experience to share.
