Happy Wednesday, everyone!
I wanted to hop on here today to share a little recap from the past few weeks. Sometimes, I skip recaps and never publish restaurants or random photos because they are way in the past, but I’m going to try to get over that and start posting them anyways. If I leave moments out, then who’s going to try my orange chicken recipe or check out a restaurant we enjoyed? I find that I get out of my routine when we travel, and ever since getting back from New Jersey, my work schedule has felt so off. I know it’s been a few weeks, but I’m trying to find that groove again. I’m hoping this week of blogging every day helps. Friday, I’ll be sharing my summer peachy-mango frosé recipe!
A few weeks ago, I made dinner reservations in the Igloos at The Goodyear House in NoDa.
I have wanted to try this place out for a while, and when I saw that they were offering outdoor igloo dining, I just had to go! I made the reservation about a month in advance since they’ve been pretty popular. It was pouring and freezing out outside, but the igloos stayed pretty toasty! I want to get an igloo like this in my backyard now. The setup was really fun, and I always appreciate it when restaurants offer unique experiences.
I started with a Davis Bynum Chardonnay. They served the table complimentary rolls with honey butter. I ordered the chicken salad and the brussels sprouts salad. Kyle had the WINNER WINNER. It was a half smf chicken with butter beans, miso-mushroom broth, chow chow, and cornbread. His dish was the best! I had a bite of his, and I should have ordered that. I would highly recommend it. The burger looked excellent too! We all split a Horchatta pie! 😋 For super bowl Sunday, I made homemade cranberry white chocolate chip cookies and my mom’s famous cheeseball recipe! My mom surprised me with the SWEETEST birthday decorations when we got to their house for the Superbowl. We didn’t get the chance to celebrate since I was out of town. She made a delicious cake, dinner and put together little picture boards. It was such a sweet surprise! On Monday night, I made roasted salmon with a honey mustard aioli, shishito peppers, and a sriracha salad mix. On Tuesday, I made creamy shrimp over zoodles!
The shrimp was cooked with 1 tablespoon of avocado oil, one tablespoon of cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, sea salt, and roasted tomatoes. We had orange teriyaki chicken on Wednesday! I cooked chicken breast with Kevin’s Teriyaki sauce, freshly squeezed oranges, soy sauce, garlic, onion, black pepper, and a tab; a lesson on gluten-free flour. I am going to get this recipe up on the blog soon! I’m still on my yogurt and berry kick! I have been using the low-carb Nola Granola, and it’s amazing. On Saturday, I went to Napa with Caitlin for a Galentine’s Day lunch. The food was amazing (like always). I ordered the salmon with broccolini. It was cold and rainy that afternoon, so we grabbed chai lattes and took a stroll around some of the pretty neighborhoods. Anyone else loves doing that?
I know this recap was so quick and random, but I always say…a random blog is better than no blog. 😉
Questions for you!

All that food looks AMAZING!! The igloos are pretty popular here too, but it’s MUCH colder out. LOL! I wanted to ask you about your Proven skincare. How long did it take for you to see results? I am loving mine (the cleanser and night moisturizer are incredible) I feel like the daily one is not hydrating enough for my skin, but it may just need more time to adjust. I’ve been using it for nearly 3 weeks now.
Taralynn says
Hi, Pamela!
I’m loving it so far and I think this is the first time I had zero breakouts during my cycle! I’ve been using it since december!
I agree with you about the daily moisterizer. I actually put it on when I go out for my walks because of the SPF and it doesnt break my skin out like sunscreen, but I use the night itme moisturizer all day! They can change your formula to fit your needs for your daily moisterizer, though!
Pamela says
Thanks so much for your input! How long do you find the products last?? Can you make it 8 weeks or did you switch to 6?
Taralynn says
I didn’t switch. I do mine every 6 😃
Pamela says
Terrific! Have an amazing weekend my dear! 🙂

I can’t wait to go out to eat again! My state still has restaurants mostly closed down for anything except takeout, so eating in a restaurant is what I’m looking forward to most!
Taralynn says
hopefully soon 🤞

Who got the burger?
Taralynn says
Our friends who joined us for dinner.
