Beach Day at Isle of Palms, South Carolina + Brown Fox Coffee
Hi, Everyone!
Happy Wednesday 😊 I hope the first half of your week is going well. I skipped my morning walks this morning, which means I’m about to go out in the 95-degree heat and torture myself for a few miles. I’m on a walking streek so I can’t stop now.
Before I head out for the day, I wanted to stop by and share some photos from our day at the beach. We craved a little getaway, so we packed up the car and drove a few hours to spend our day in the sand. It was so needed, and I’m already missing the waves!
First stop: Brown Fox Coffee
We had our go-to spot we usually hit during our beach trips, but I wanted to try something new. I’m so happy we did because the coffee was delicious here. Becca even bought two bags to go because she loved it so much. It’s such an adorable little coffee spot hidden by overgrown crepe myrtles. We enjoyed iced coffees and paleo cinnamon coffee cake.
I had a lot of questions about my purse on Instagram! I am obsessed with it, and I may go back tomorrow to pick up the light blue one. It’s from an adorable boutique in York, SC. It’s Southern Pagoda!
Cheers to a beach day!
We were going to head to Sullivans Island, but they didn’t allow umbrellas or coolers. There was no way we were going to sit on the beach without either of those, so we decided on Isle of Palms instead. There is much better parking at IOP anyways. 😉
We found the perfect spot and parked ourselves in the sand.
We brought infused water to ensure hydration.
It had lemons, green apples, pineapple, water, ice, and cucumber. Have you ever had Capriccio sangria drinks? I’m not a big Sangria person, but WOW are they good! The watermelon flavor is my favorite. They’re fun and refreshing for the beach.
I’m in love with these containers. You can pack snacks at the bottom with separate spots for dipping sauce on top! They’re meant for salads, but I packed cucumbers and carrots with hummus. Late afternoon, the sky turned black, and it looked like a massive storm was about to roll in. Luckily, it didn’t, but all the other beachgoers took off. Cheers to an empty beach! Trail mix from Publix bulk section! We tried to recreate the beach photos from 2016 😆 I’m not a huge fan of saltwater.
We wanted pizza on the beach for dinner, but the spot was closed 😞 Luckily, we stopped by Burtons for a delicious dinner. We had french fries, salmon, broccoli, and gluten-free general tsos cauliflower with garlic aioli. 😋
This low-key beach day was such a blast and exactly what we both needed.
Questions for you!
- If you could go on a day trip right now, where would you go?
- Do you prefer the beach or pool?

Love Becca’s hat! Looks like such a fun day! We live on the water up here in Alaska but man do I miss warm water beaches!

She looks so cute in it!
I can’t wait to visit Alaska one day!

What an awesome day. love the idea of taking a big container of fruit infused water. If I could go on a road trip right now it would be some where warm by the beach with a glass of rosé in hand. If there’s water I am happy whether its a pool, beach, lake or a river. Have a great week.
Taralynn McNitt says
Hi, Harriet!
It’s a great way to stay hydrated!
I feel ya on that on. Something about water that calms the mind!

I would love to go to the beach for the day.. just haven’t gotten around to doing it this summer.
I actually prefer the lake!! Our family has a lake house in upstate New York on Lake George. It’s gorgeous and clear water! Love it there.
You guys should visit Tybee Island in GA. It’s a nice little beach not that far away from Savannah. (where you and I both looove lol)
Taralynn McNitt says
Hopefully soon! 🤞
I love clear lakes!!😃 I bet that’s beautiful.
Kyle and I actually went to Tybee Island together on our first trip! 😊

Looks like a fun day!!
I live in Florida so the beaches are always close by-
But I’m with you, I prefer a pool to salt water!!
Taralynn McNitt says
Thanks, Lori!
So lucky to live in FL! I can’t wait until we get to visit again.

Your posts always cheer me up, Taralynn! So happy to see you’re enjoying summer 🙂 I don’t like the beach or the pool much (I’m more of a shopping mall kind of girl, haha), but if I had to choose, I’d pick the pool! ❤️✨

Hi, Charmaine!
Thanks for those kind words.
Nothing wrong with an air conditioned mall! 😊

This looks like so much fun! I used to live in the north east and we would take day trips to the beaches. I would love to go to Ocean City MD again for the day (or a whole week lol).
Beach for laying out, pool for swimming!
Have you been to Huntington Beach State Park? We haven’t traveled much since moving to SC so Isle of Palms is definitely on the list now!
Taralynn McNitt says
You have to go for the week! One day just isn’t enough lol
I agree with that!
I have been there years ago!

Hi Taralynn,
Looks like a great day! These sangria drinks have caught my attention! I’m not a big fan of Sangria neither but I’m curious about how can they tase 🙂
I prefer beach but I’m a little weird with water in general. I don’t like to. spend a lot of time in the sea, I mostly stay under umbrella reading a book or something.
I would love to go for one day trip to Costa Brava again. There’s a lot of beautiful spots here, so maybe this Sunday we will go! 🙂
Have a nice weekend :*
Taralynn McNitt says
Hi, Milena!
I was very shocked at how good they were!
There definitely has to be an umbrella! lol ♥️
Hope you have an amazing weekend and get the chance to go to Costa Brava!!

Just got back from Isle of Palms yesterday! It was my first time. Unfortunately, it’s a five hour drive for us. Wish I could go for a day trip.
Taralynn McNitt says
AWWW so glad you got to experience it!!!

Looks like you had an amazing weekend! If I could go on a day trip right now, it would be Hilton Head Island, SC. Pool or beach – they both have their pros and cons… Can I say a hotel right on the beach, so I have the best of both worlds? 🙂
Taralynn McNitt says
Ahhhhh I love Hilton Head!
Carissa says
Looks like a great beach day! I love the bag, can you share the brand?
Taralynn McNitt says
Hi, it’s from a boutique called Southern Pagoda~
