Good morning, and happy Monday!
This is going to be such a big week. That exciting news I had won’t be a secret for long, and on top of that, Becca and I are flying to Miami on Wednesday for a mini bachelorette party. We’re calling it the “Bestie & the Bride” weekend! We are so excited to spend some time relaxing by the pool, walking the beach, eating delicious food, and just taking some time to relax. Miami has always been on my travel bucket list, so if you have any suggestions for us, please let me know in the comments.
My week was pretty chill, and I spent most of my time outside with the pups, creating TONS of pumpkin recipes for the blog, and tackling more decluttering projects. I’ve been enjoying the calm life around the house since this fall is going to be pretty crazy on the traveling side. This week, I’m heading to Miami, later this month a weekend getaway with Kyle, then NYC in early October, Asheville for Becca’s wedding late October, almost all of November in Hawaii, and then back to Florida for Thanksgiving, and then off to New Jersey for Kyle’s best friends wedding. But, I’m looking forward to ALL of it! 😊
After I was putting my recap together, I realized that it was unnecessary to share my breakfast from each day. Why? Well, the breakfasts were all the same. I cut about seven photos from this blog post and replaced it with this one! No one cares to see the same plate seven times. I’ve had the same breakfast every day — eggs with peppers, onions, spinach, tomatoes, and fresh fruit on the side. Around 9:30 am, I get hungry for the same meal, and so far, I have not gotten sick of it. Since I’ll be leaving for Miami and a couple of days, my breakfast will most likely be a bit different.
On Friday night, Kyle and I had our nightly bags (cornhole) competition until the sun went down. This weekend, I managed to get the win. He had me two weekends in a row, and I was starting to get a bit frustrated. This has been our latest addiction.
We both decided on homemade pizza and a movie for the rest of the night, so we headed to the grocery store to pick up a few ingredients. They didn’t have any gluten-free pizza crust, so Kyle found these Caullipower wraps. I’ve had their pizza crust before and loved it, so we figured we’d give the wraps a try as a pizza crust.
Kyle made supreme, and I made Hawaiian style pizza, and the crust tasted perfect. I loved the flavor and texture. I had a lot of you asking if I made it in the air fryer, but I just cooked this one in the oven. I got curious the next day and decided to try it out in the air fryer, and surprisingly it worked even better. The crust was 2x crispier! So I guess I’ll be adding this to my air fryer go-to dinners. While doing the Whole30, I think it was the pizza combos that I craved the most.
Kyle and I spent most of Saturday out at my parent’s house. They headed to Iowa for the weekend, so we floated around in their pool, cleaned out the bottom from the storms, and also set up the dog’s pool. They always have a blast getting muddy and running around in the sprinkler. We always call my parent’s house the “fun house” for the dogs because it’s like Disneyland for them.
On Saturday evening, I had one of my homemade pumpkin spiced lattes but over ice this time. I blended everything in the blender together without frothing the almond milk and then poured it over rice. It was delicious! I also started reading a new book, Someone We Know! I decided to stop reading it because it was getting so good, and I wanted to save it for the pool days in Miami.
The weather was HOT yesterday. Instead of melting outside, I spent most of the day, creating more fall recipe testing! I have some delicious recipes coming your way VERY VERY soon!!
One project I managed to tackle was the pantry cleanout. I had been putting it off for SO LONG because I wanted to film it for a YouTube video, and that kept getting pushed back. Well, I finally did it, and you can check ou that video on my Youtube channel!! It’s going to make you want to organize it immediately.
It’s the most amazing feeling when it’s done. I’m trying to get the entire house organized and ready before Fall decorating starts.
It finally cooled down Sunday evening, so Kyle and I headed out for a little trail walk and watched the sky turn red as the sun went down. I caught a little bit of it on the Instagram story, but it was such a peaceful way to end the weekend.
Tonight, I’m headed to pick up an old coffee table that needs fixing up. I’m excited to DIY it for a blog post. I looked all around the internet for a new coffee table, and the prices for the ones I wanted were ridiculous. When I saw an ad for an old antique coffee table on Marketplace, immediately had a vision of what I wanted. I can’t wait to update you all on that project. And I’m also looking forward to sharing more about what’s going on behind the scenes here. It’s so hard to blog when I’m keeping 70% of my week private! That’ll all change soon! Xo xo Hope you have the best week!
Questions for you!
- How have you been spending the last few days of summer?
- Do you eat breakfast on repeat? Or change it up?
- What was the last thing you organized?

I haven’t been doing anything crazy different, mostly gathering my fall decorations and slowly getting them put up. Here in SE Iowa, we keep getting fall “teasers” and then it shoots back up into the 80’s for a few days. I’m ready for full blown fall!
I eat mostly the same breakfast everyday; 2 eggs & a bagel thin (or toast). I throw in a piece of fruit too! Banana, nectarine, or an apple. Always quick & simple!
Last thing I organized was my hallway closet about a month ago. I am ashamed to say that I need to redo it again 😂😬

Hi, Nicole
I’ve heard that! My parents are in Iowa right now and on Sunday they said it was in the 60’s!
Your breakfast sounds so good!
hahaha our hallway closet always takes a beating

Seems like you’re having lots of fun making the most out of summer! Loved the post 🙂 Me, I just had a huge surgery so I’ve spent the last three weeks holed up at home, haha. Hopefully I get to go out normally soon! 😀

Since summer drags on until at least November, I spent the weekend mostly indoors. I do my grocery shopping and errand shopping every Saturday. I was gone back east last weekend to visit my mom so it was nice to get back into my routine now that I’m home.
Breakfast on the weekdays is the same – greek yogurt with sugar free jelly. Weekends are when I experiment. I like to make batches of Kodiak waffles to keep on hand. This weekend I finally tried a new recipe – Italian Breakfast Bake. It went over very well with my hubby and I’m eating leftovers right now for lunch. My new semester begins tonight so I am front loading my meals a bit to get me through them – class won’t end until 9:30pm and I won’t get home until after 10pm.
We are organizing our entire house right now in preparation for my husband’s family coming out for Thanksgiving…all 12 of them. I began another clothing purge since I’ve dropped so much weight. Cleaned out my jewelry box and filled a box for donation from that. I have shirts left to purge and then the closet is done.

Hi, Amy!
Sounds like you had a productive weekend and it’s always nice to be home and jump back into your normal routine. That Italian breakfast break sounds so delicious! ♥️
I need all of your motivation for productivity! Good job on getting on top of everything!

Ohh I am a creature of habit haha. I eat oatmeal every single morning! I also love that your parents have a pool! My grandparents had a pool and I used to look forward to going over during the summer to swim in it 🙂 I know that pools are a lot of work (mostly because my grandma used to complain about it) but I think I might want one someday 🙂 They are such a great way to bring people together!
Also, those cookies that you baked look aaaahmazing and I can’t wait for you to share the recipe with us all 🙂 As for the big news you have, I can’t wait to hear about it! I am sure that it is great news and am so happy for you!!
Taralynn McNitt says
Thanks, Brittany!! Sharing very very soon!!
Creature of habit here too!!

I absolutely adore fall, but just like everyone else, I feel like time is going by way too quickly, so I am clinging to the last days of summer. I’ve been exploring nature trails, rollerblading, riding my bike, and walking my dog–any excuse to be outside!
My breakfast is usually just a green smoothie on weekdays, but most weekends I eat eggs or protein pancakes, so I guess I do have breakfasts on repeat.
Your pantry video definitely inspired me! I live in an apartment and do not have a full pantry, so I have to cram everything into cabinets, which makes it even more disorganized. I knocked out the “pantry” cabinet last week, and now I am going for my closet so I can donate some items I haven’t been wearing.
Looking forward to hearing about your news! 🙂

Same girl. It’s so hard to enjoy anything fall when I’m outside lol it’s 100 degrees!
Yum! All good breakfast choices!
woooo!!! I’m so happy you’re getting on top of that organizing! It always feels good to have it done!

Hi Taralynn!
The Autumn also came to Barcelona, the weather suddenly changed from one day to another.
The last days of summer I’ve been spending on the beach and enjoying the sun, walking a lot and trying new restaurants.
Regarding my breakfast, it’s pretty the same every morning durinng my week. I add the eggs on weekends, that’s the only change 🙂
The last thing I organized was my wardrobe, I donated some clothes. This week I am planning to organize the living room because we bought new coach and furtniture. II will have to get rid of many unnecesarry things and then I will look for some nice pillows and other decorations 🙂
Have a nice rest of the week! Can’t wait to hear about the news 🙂
Taralynn McNitt says
Hi, Milena!
I bet it’s gorgeous there this time of year! ♥️
Great job on your productive week! xo

I watched your decluttering video this weekend, made the PSL, and then totally cleared out my closet…which spread to my bedroom, then bathroom, then kitchen, and on and on until I had a car full of items to donate. Thanks for the inspiration!

You go girl!!

My husband and I went to topgolf for the first time last weekend, and I’m going to squeeze in a few more farmers markets before they’re done for the season! I eat the exact same breakfast smoothie every morning haha and we just moved into a new house a few months ago so I’ve been organizing everything little by little! I just finished our desk, kitchen, and garage and then I’m going to do our closet when it’s time to switch our summer and winter clothes. I’m most excited for that.
Thanks so much for your awesome posts! I always look forward to them!
Taralynn McNitt says
How fun!
Congrats on the move. Definitely exhausting, but fun at the same time. ♥️
I also need to do the closet switch some time soon! (hoping it cools off soon!!)

Awesome recap, hoops you had a great week. Please tell me you will do a blog on Miami, I am still sorting my Florida trip out hopefully will be staying in Pensacola (near the Alabama border). I have been spending the last few days of winter sorting/cleaning my kombi out for spring and summer road trips. My go to breakfast for the last 3weeks has been avocado on toast. The last thing I organised was my closet ready for spring/summer. Have a fantastic time in Miami!
Taralynn McNitt says
Hi, Harriet!
I will most definitely be doing one! You’re going to LOVE Florida! ♥️
