I know it’s January, and Christmas is over, but I still have to share our photos from our short time in New York. If you followed all of my Vlomgas videos, then you’ve probably already seen most of these photos come to life. One of my dreams was seeing New York during the holidays. Kyle had an extra day off, so we headed up the weekend before Christmas. It was nice because we had the chance to have dinner with his dad before spending a day in the city. We got lucky because it’s usually freezing in New York around Christmas time, but the weather wasn’t too bad.
We headed into the City around 1 PM with one of Kyle’s best friends.
My inner child was so excited to be in New York City in December. I know we didn’t have much time to do everything, so next time we’ll plan to stay longer.
But first, coffee! We stopped into Maman in Soho. I’ve had this spot saved in my Instagram archives for so long, and it was exciting to try it out finally. It’s the cutest little cafe with outstanding coffee!
I ordered an oat milk cappuccino and then did a little shopping. I had planned to wear my purple coat into the city, but it had a weird smell from the rain, so I refused to wear it. I decided that I’d get a coat once we got there. We went into about six stores that had coats for around $500 + and then finally we stopped into a little boutique with endless racks of coats. The coat I’m wearing was only $29! I couldn’t believe it. It was the softest and warmest thing, so I grabbed it. I had wanted a leopard coat like this, and when I saw that price tag, I was like YUP! I wish I would have paid attention to the store name, but I was just so cold and hungry that I could focus on was getting a coat and finding a lunch spot.
We had lunch at Antique Garage. This spot used to be an old mechanic shop, and now it’s a unique restaurant with an exciting atmosphere, serving a diverse collection of cross-cultural cuisines and plenty of Mediterranean-stye dishes.
I ordered the grilled salmon, which was UNBELIEVABLE. It was served over a celery root puree. If you’re ever in NYC, stopping here will not disappoint.
After our late lunch, we headed down to Rockefeller Center to see the big tree! St. Patrick’s Cathedral ♥️
Radio City Music Hall! 🎶
Next, we headed to Bryant Park to walk through the little shops and watch the ice skaters. The line was 2+ hours long, so we took a raincheck.
Time Square!
♥️
Off to Little Italy for some dinner 🇮🇹 🍝
🚕
Kyle said we have to go back in the summer when Little Itlay comes to life outside. I won’t argue with that!
🇮🇹
🎅 🍺
We had dinner at Sofia’s of Little Italy. I had their gluten-free ziti with tomato sauce, and it was tasty! 😋
Off to the dueling pianos! We met up with another one of Kyle’s friends at Houe of Que in Hoboken. It was an enjoyable place, and the dueling piano musicians were very talented!
Kyle and I woke up early so we could take a walk through central park and have breakfast at the Loeb Boathouse before packing up and heading to the airport.
Central park NEVER gets old. Whenever I’m walking through it, I think of all of my favorite movie scenes that were filmed here.
I ordered coffee and Kyle ordered tea to go with the fresh pumpkin spice bread.
I was on a salmon kick last week. I ordered their Scottish salmon with sauteed spinach on the side.
☕️
After brunch, we walked a bit more in the park.
🧣
☀️
Around noon, we took an Uber back so we could get packed and head to the airport to fly home just in time for Christmas. 🎄
I hope you enjoyed these little snapshots from our trip! Don’t forget to watch the final vlogmas videos to see it all come to life! ♥️

Yes, I went to NYC for Christmas one year. My hair got caught in someones umbrella that was walking the opposite direction than I was and they didn’t stop! I would love to spend Christmas in London!

Be careful of the umbrellas in rainy London 😂

Taralynn McNitt says
Uhhhhh I hate that I can’t remember. It was within quick walking distance to Maman! I tried looking at all the stores on maps to see if I could find it and no luck!! I’m going to log onto my bank site when I get home to see if it shows up on activity 🙂 I’ll keep you posted!
