Good Afternoon!
I had such a great weekend and I can’t wait to share it with you! I did so much over the weekend and it went by way too fast, but those are the types of weekends that I like. I’m a go go go person most of the time and it makes me happy. The only time I sit down to relax is in the morning with my coffee while I work and when I sit down to blog. I thought about forcing myself to stay in one spot for longer than an hour at a time, but it would probably be torture for me. There is chance I will get up to do something at least five times during this post…probably more.
This morning, I worked a bit and had a bowl of cheerios with almond milk and banana for breakfast. I did a really quick workout at the gym with the weights and called it a day. I worked out late last night and I’m still sore from it, plus tomorrow I’m going for a run with a friend and don’t want to be too sore.
I left my last recap post off on Thursday! My dad was out of town so I dropped the dogs off with my mom. I didn’t want her to be alone and I always feel more safe with dogs. I was going to a baseball game and so it worked out perfectly.
I headed uptown to meet up with my friend Rachel before the game. Traffic on 77 has been a huge damper in my mood lately!
It was the home opening game for the Charlotte Nights at BB&T ball field! I have been waiting all year for this! I love hanging out with friends, having a few drinks and enjoying the beautiful night skyline overlooking the field.
I love living in Charlotte so much and I don’t think I’ll ever leave. When I first started writing this blog, I was all over the place, going from state to state, but I fell in love with the city and it’s people. This is where I plan on planting my roots.
The weather couldn’t have been any more perfect. In a few months, it’ll start to get super humid and hot! At least the pools will be open. The summer heat forces me to wake up early to run.
I had the best of both worlds at the game. I started with a pinot grigio and then a craft beer. I’ve been really loving craft beer lately, which comes in handy living in Charlotte. There is a brewery on every block. I love the hoppy IPAs.
Craft beer in a mason jar, only in the South.
Even though the Knights lost (I had no idea until I left the game) we had so much fun! If you’re ever visiting Charlotte, add this to your agenda.
For breakfast on Friday morning, I had fresh strawberries with a drizzle of honey, an English muffin and raw almonds. Those were the fresh strawberries I bought at the Peach Stand in Fort Mill, SC.
After my food digested, I headed to the river walk for a morning run. I did three miles and then walked two miles. I love running on Fridays before the weekend.
I was excited to see the pups and they were super excited to see me 🙂 I brought my work over to my parents house so they could goof off in the backyard all day while I worked.
Kona and Grumples love playing for hours.
SHORTS ALERT. I am all about jean shorts this summer. I think they look cute with everything and I couldn’t own enough. I was jean shorts shopping the other day and it made me laugh to see all of the jeans shorts $50 and up…so I decided to ditch the mall and head home to EBAY. SCORE! I bought 6 pairs of destroyed jean shorts from Urban Outfitters and AE. They each ranged from $11.99 to $24.00. Aint nobody too good for Ebay! SO, before you go out and spend a load of money on destroyed denim, go look else wear! Another girl’s garbage is another girl’s treasure.
I had to snap this at the stoplight. There was a dog party going on in the jeep! We headed home later in the afternoon. The pups were zonked and immediately ate dinner and hopped on the couch.
On Friday night, I headed to Waxhaw to have dinner at one of my favorite Taverns. The Maxwell Tavern has THE BEST salads, and you all know how much I love my salads. I ordered the grilled chicken salad and it came with pepperjack cheese, tomatoes, onion, lettuce, cucumber, croutons and ranch on the side. I also had a red blend…because red wine is good for the heart 🙂
I walked by my favorite house to check in on it. There is always something different about this abandoned home every time I walk by.
I ended the night at the Waxhaw Creamery. They had my favorite ice cream available, the sugar free maple walnut! They always ran out of this last summer because it’s one of their best flavors.
I woke up super duper early on Saturday morning so I could have some coffee and walk the dogs before Becca came over. I got my new box of ThredUp clothes in and it’s so fun to go through the stuff. I’ll be doing a post on all my finds on Friday! We wanted to go to Waxhaw and shop around too. I thought it would be a great place to get photos of some of the looks! I have a couple of the photos included in this post, but I’ll save the rest for Friday:)
On the way to Waxhaw I had some pistachio berry blend to fill my hunger spot. I am so obsessed with this blend! You can find it on Setton Farms!
It has all of my favorites: white chocolate chips, pistachios, roasted almonds, fresh tart cherries, cranberries, and cashews. I love that it’s not overly sweet and not salty! I have a little handful after dinner for dessert sometimes.
We grabbed coffee at Crossroads Coffeehouse first. This is a cute little rustic coffee house in Waxhaw.
I usually order hot coffee, but it was so nice out. I decided to go with an iced coffee and skim milk.
I showed Becca my favorite house! She’s obsessed with ghost and creepy stuff too.
LEAPING LIZARDS! Found this little guy at one of the antique shops. A lot of people mistake these little guys for gecko’s but they are actually anolis carolinensis. We used to have geckos everywhere in Hawaii and they look nothing like this. This guy let me so close to him to take a photo which is rare because most of the time these lizards are very territorial.
I picked up a couple new coffee and tea cups! (outfits ill be sharing for my ThredUp post)
I was incredibly obsessed with this crystal chandler. I’d love to DIY something similar!
This book had my name all over it!
After leaving Waxhaw, I headed to visit my parents for a bit. I brought the dogs to go play too!
My dad 😀
Kona and Grumps were back in play mode.
My parents ended up taking them for the night so I could go out with the girls! That was super nice of them. I hate going out knowing that they are home alone.
Trouble makers!
My casual look for the night…
Top: Express
Jeans: AE
Shoes: Catos
Those shoes were only $19.99 so I bought them in five different colors. They are so comfortable! I’m excited to rock my leopard ones sometime.
We enjoyed cheese and wine at Kelli’s and then headed to some bars in Southend. I’m sure some of you saw the snapchats from the night…:)
Friday night was so much fun and much needed.
Some sort of miracle happened and I was energetic and wide awake on Sunday morning. I’m not sure how that happened since the night before consisted of multiple drinks. I promised Becca I’d go to the Body World’s exhibit at the Discovery place museum. After church, I met up with her uptown.
The museum had rainforest and it was super cool! I can’t believe I had never gone to the museum yet. That’s another place to add to your Charlotte agenda.
The Body Worlds exhibit was so interesting and informative. Some was bit creepy…
They had all the (real) body parts on display and let you take a look at what the muscles do for specific people. The running body was incredible. They opened up the muscles to show you how everything works and connects when running.
This is everything I live by now. I know that it’s hard to be happy at times and life makes that difficult, but happiness comes from actions. I can choose to be unhappy or I can choose to do things that make me happy.
The exhibit had a lot of inspirational photos up. This photo is unbelievable and a true example of why living a healthy lifestyle is important.
Red wine? √
Red wine √
The museum was so fun and we totally played around with all the science stations after the exhibit.
Uptown was gorgeous on Sunday so we took a little stroll. I don’t get uptown nearly enough!
This ally made me think of Spiderman and Gotham. I always correlate allies with superhero movies.
Later in the afternoon Becca and I went to Tupelo Honey in Southend for Dinner.
When you match the rose bushes, it’s only natural to stop and take a photo.
Afternoon coffee was everything! I didn’t drink coffee Sunday morning and mainly focused on water…
Tupelo Honey is such a great place in Charlotte. It’s a popular spot for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have a giant outdoor sitting area, a restaurant area inside and a restaurant/bar area.
They always bring out signature biscuits with honey and jam <3
We decided to split the brussel sprouts and it was probably one of the best decisions we have ever made. These were so freaking good and I can’t wait to make something like this at home. They were crispy, lemony, garlic-y and super addictive. I could have eaten this entire plate by myself plus more.
For my meal, I had the Tupelo signature salad. It had house-made curried croutons (Which were awesome), granny smith apples and sunflower seeds and served with the signature Tupelo Honey vinaigrette. I also had grilled chicken added on top. The salad was so good and the dressing had a spicy kick to it!
We decided to end our Sunday with a six-mile walk at the Riverwalk.
It was absolutely beautiful and I was shocked that no one was on the path! We passed like six people the entire time.
We finally made it to the car before it was completely dark. The views were so breathtaking.
After having coffee this morning, I packed up the pups and we headed out to the ballfields to run!
They were zonked after running all over the place. Kona tried to stick his tongue out too…
For lunch, I had eggplant fries, carrots with roasted red pepper hummus and a black bean burger.
For dinner, I made roasted red potatoes, Caesar salad, and garlic chicken sandwiches!
I will make sure to post this recipe up today!
Dinner was so good!
Questions for you!
- I love antique shopping, what is something you like to do on the weekends?
- What is the biggest item you’ve scored while bargain shopping?
- What did you do this weekend?
Emily says
I LOVE those shoes! I have been looking on the website for them but I’m not sure what they are called. Do you remember!? And the price is soo amazing 🙂
Taralynn McNitt says
Thank you! I didn’t see them on the website (other than the leopard ones) but try a local store!

Moving back to Iowa for four months, left Saturday, today we are in rapid city
Taralynn McNitt says
Have fun!! Miss Iowa 🙁 I may be going to the Iowa State fair this year!
Chessa says
OMG!!!! Those jean shorts are SOOOO CUTE, and also #HipboneGoals lol! What workouts do u do besides running? Are u vegetarian and/or paleo????
Taralynn McNitt says
Thank you!! I’m obsessed.
My hipbones are naturally HUGE. I was born with bones of a football player lol. Even when I gain weight, they are very large. Nothing to do with diet and workout! I just eat whatever and whenever but in moderation and try to eat healthy 80% of the time! It concerns me a little bit with “hipbone goals”…please stay healthy don’t ever make that a goal. Just eat healthy, enjoy life and never worry about what your hipbones look like. To be honest, I’d rather mine not show, but everyone’s body is different.
For workouts…I just run, play basketball, hike, and do weights at the gym!
Emily B says
Is there a love button? Or a slow clap emoji?! Seriously. That is SO good. SO SO GOOD!
Melanie says
Love your response and maturity Taralynn. Thank you for being an inspiration!
Alyssa says
Love your shoes you wore at the museum! Where are they from?
Taralynn McNitt says
Thank you Alyssa! They are from Bass & Co Outlet!
Julie says
Taralynn, I think your hair looks so pretty straightened!!!
Taralynn McNitt says
Thank you Julie!!

Biking and beaches! I live on Cape Cod and we have so many beautiful places to bike to and plus I need to train for my 100 mile bike ride later this year!
Biggest bargain shopping win was shoes at DSW on Black Friday. Normally, I don’t shop on this day and if I do I go when I want, not early in the morning. But I needed new Sperry’s and had a coupon. They had a deal going on if you bought 2 shoes you got a free blanket scarf and % off your purchase. I found Aldo heels on the clearance rack that I fell in love with. So with the coupons and black Friday deals, for the Sperry’s, Aldo Heels and a blanket scarf I paid $35!!
This weekend was a long weekend for me. A friend and I took a road trip to Montreal since it’s only about 6-7 hours from Cape Cod! So cool exploring that city mainly by foot!
Taralynn McNitt says
Bike and beaches is the best!
I’m so jealous that you live in Cape Cod! I may have to bring my bike up that way.
DSW ON BLACK FRIDAY IS EVERYTHING! Sounds like you had a huge steal!
You sound so adventurous and I love it!
Anna says
Your pictures make me so jealous of your town! I love ND, but there is just so little to do here and it’s kind of boring haha. I guess that just gives me a reason to do more traveling though, right? 🙂
1. Honestly, I am totally with you on the antique shopping! Whenever I go home for the weekend or my bf comes here to visit, we almost ALWAYS hit up some antique stores. You never know what you’ll find and it’s so fun to explore.
2.I can’t think of just one big bargain item, but I’ve had a lot of successful bargain hunting trips. I love when I happen to go to clothing stores that are having mega sales. I’ve been lucky enough to find SUPER cute clothing for as low as a dollar at Old Nay and JC Penny. I’m also a bit obsessed with Kohls, because when they have sales they are amaaazing.
3. This weekend my bf came to town and we tried one of those “panic room” type things. You’re in a room with a group of people and have 1 hour to solve 13 puzzles and unlock different clues to get to the end. It was ridiculously fun.
I also finally joined the Instagram world and did some work on my blog http://www.activelyanna.com It’s neverending work, but you inspire me so much to keep trying!
Taralynn McNitt says
Thank you so much 🙂 I love CLT!
If you travel here, you’ll want to stay.
1. Isn’t it the best! 🙂
2. Mega clothing sales are my fave. I like the outlet malls!
3. I have never heard of that in my entire life but it sounds freaking fun! I’ll have to take a look at your blog! thank you so much 🙂
Abbey says
Hi Taralynn!
I just wanted to say how beautiful you look in all of these photos! I absolutely love the color your hair is right now 🙂
It looks like you had a wonderful weekend and I hope you have a great week!
Taralynn McNitt says
Hi Abbey!
Thank you so much for the compliment. I’m also loving my hair color 🙂 It always lightens up a bit in the summer and it’s not TOOOOO dark anymore 😀
I also hope you had a fantastic weekend!
Emilyyyy says
You look so genuinely happy. I’ve been following your blog for years now and I’m so happy that you’re pieces are all starting to come together. You deserve the best! You’re an inspiration to me and so many others. Thanks for always posting things that bring me joy 🙂
Taralynn McNitt says
Thank you Emily!
I am VERY VERY happy lately. I hit 25 and everything has just gone uphill from here. Thank you for the kind words and stopping to comment!

What a fun weekend! I love baseball games, but never go lol. There’s just no one around me that cares about baseball DX.
and wow.. also your hipbones! You look amazing, but it’s kind of scary (relapsing) That’s coming from someone who’s suffering with an eating disorder. But I’m glad you had such an awesome weekend!
I love going antique shopping, but most weekends I go to yard sales all around town.
The biggest item.. hmm. A HUGE copy of Relativity by M. C. Escher. It was framed and everything. The lady sold it to me for $4. I was so happy!! If you don’t know what I’m talking about, look it up and you probably will.
I had a biking accident friday and sprained my foot, so I spent my weekend in bed. :/ but worse things could happen.
Taralynn McNitt says
Thanks Whitney!
Baseball is so much fun because of the environment!
Also, the hipbones is something I cannot help. I have GIANT bones and no matter what weight I am…they’ll always show. I’m at a very healthy weight and have never been healthier. I do appreciate your concern!
Yard sales have fun started up here!
Such a great deal!! I do that at a local bookstore here.
Ihope your foot gets better so0n!!! Thats no fun ;:(

1) When I’m not overloaded with homework, I like sitting outside/going for walks if the weather is nice. The weather here in MN has been wicked crazy (80s for a few days and then drops down to 40s for two weeks). If I’m feeling lazy, I catch up on Ghost Adventures and NCIS.
2) It’s at my mom’s house, but we scored a beautiful cherry wood dresser and a barely used hide-a-bed couch in mint condition. If I remember right, it was all for $200!
3)This weekend was all about being outside, having water fights, and good laughs. It was in the high 70s to mid 80s and had a cool breeze. Gorgeous!
I wanna say, I LOVE that abandoned house! I actually reminds me of a house on the show Fixer Upper. haha Can you imagine keeping the same style but just re-doing the paint and reconditioning the inside how beautiful it would be?
Taralynn McNitt says
I love walks, especially now that it’s warm again. I heard you guys were getting some pretty crazy weather! I love ghost adventures!
That is such a great deal! I love finds like that.
That sounds like such a fun weekend. I miss water fights.
I WOULD JUST DIE if I could buy and fix that house up! It is so lovely and I love the town of Waxhaw. I’d have to keep all the character for sure.
Dorka says
Hahaha, looking at the picture of the couch, first I didn’t even see the pups lying there, they blend in so well! Love those furballs:)
Taralynn McNitt says
They’re like fluffy throw pillows!
Morgan says
I love your couch! Where did you get it?
Taralynn McNitt says
I got it two years ago at Ashleys!
Amanda says
1- what is something you like to do on the weekends?
I rotate working weekends, so on my weekends off I like to spend my first hour in bed with my kitties, drinking my coffee and watching a netflix program (normally Gilmore Girls or Friends!). I try not to take those weekends for granted so in the Summer I’ll head for a hike up at Coopers Rock. I know you’re super into hiking, so if you’re ever looking for a place to head for the weekend, check it out! It’s about a 6 hour drive from Charlotte to WV!
2.What is the biggest item you’ve scored while bargain shopping?
Not so much me, but my Mom scored a super cute Coach purse for 7 dollars with the tags still on it at a thrift shop in Pittsburgh!
3.What did you do this weekend?
This past weekend I had went out for a friends birthday on Friday night to a local bar, Saturday I spring cleaned and Sunday was the Pirate game in Pittsburgh (throw that one on your agenda if you ever head up to the Burgh!!)
On a side note, I just recently went to Tupelo’s in Asheville and it was absolutely amazing! I cannot wait to go back for more biscuits and jam!
Taralynn McNitt says
Kitties, coffee & netflix! Yes 🙂
That isn’t too far at all and I’m always up for a new climb. I still have a ton of hikes in NC that I need to do!
That is such a bargain. Go mom!
That sounds like a fun weekend!!
How awesome is TH!:D i havnt been to the one is asheville yet!!
Amanda says
No it’s not a far drive at all! West Virginia has some beautiful outdoor activities to partake in. Right across the border of that is OhioPyle. They actually filmed an episode of the Bachelorette here a few weeks ago at Nemacolin, which is also near OhioPyle!
Morgantown, WV is about a half hour from Coopers Rock, and it kind of reminds you of Asheville! Very artsy, lots of local shops, eateries and brews!
Taralynn McNitt says
That all sounds like so much fun!! did you say BACHELORETTE 😀
Amanda says
Yes!!! They did a group date here at our local resorts, went to another town for a concert, then to Pittsburgh to do stuff with the Steelers!
I know you post a lot about golfing too. Check out Nemacolin Woodland (that’s where a lot of the filming was done). They have 2 excellent courses and it’s right near all the places to home!
Taralynn McNitt says
Thanks so much! 🙂
Emma says
HI Taralynn!! I love seeing how happy you are! Also, this may seem like a weird question, but I am soon moving to a new city for my first “big girl” job and I was wondering how you met so many new friends? I have always met friends through school and stuff, so I am nervous now. My new job is mainly where I am alone and don’t have coworkers, so I just wanted to hear about your tips on meeting so many great new friends! Love seeing all your adventures! Also, you run SO FAST!! YGG!
Taralynn McNitt says
Hi Emma!
That is not a weird question at all and it gets asked a lot!
I got pretty lucky meeting people around my apartment complex, from past relationships, from running groups…etc! Don’t be nervous, just be very outgoing and willing to put yourself out there for friends! Find things that you like doing and you’ll find people that like to do the same.
& THANK YOU for the kind words!
Carly says
I looooove ThredUp! I’m excited to see your post. I discovered it about 6 months ago and I am hooked. (Love your outfit in the tea cup pic, btw! So cute)
Taralynn McNitt says
Thanks Carly! I’ve been getting Everyone so hooked on it!
Carly says
I love going out to baseball games too! They have become so much more than just a game! Being from Colorado the Rockies were always pretty bad (still are) but they manage to sell out SO many games because people just love the atmosphere and the night out!
Weekends are my time for getting outside as much as possible (walking, running, hiking, even just reading in the park) and trying new restaurants… bonus points if they have patios!
I always love to find a good bargain! Some of my best include my living room rug at Wayfair (a 5×7) for $65! I also love shopping at the end of seasons for the following year! I just found a North Face fleece zip up for $43 (seems expensive but usually they are $120!… and the North Face warranty is AMAZING!)
This weekend was one of the first nice(er) weekends here in MA, so I spent most of it outside! Lots of dog walks and dog park adventures as well as trying a new restaurant at a nearby outdoor mall (and yes I requested to sit outside! 😛 )

They are so fun! It’s definitely a social thing (for me) for sure. But I do enjoy yankees games!
Your weekends are basically the story of my life 😉
That is a great bargain and I love Wayfair!
Sounds like you had such a great weekend! Hopefully it stays warm for you! It was 86 here today!

Your hair is so on point in every photo! I love bargain/antique shopping as well, but I haven’t actually done it in a while. The things you can find are amazing!
And those brussel sprouts look delicious 🙂

Taralynn McNitt says
I saw that! & It’s super good.
Sara says
You lost a lot of weight since your break up. Are you ok?
Taralynn McNitt says
Hi Sara
I have been eating very healthy and working out. I have a balance of bad foods and good foods. I really haven’t lost much weight and have been toning. I was eating a lot of pizza, wings, and crap all the time. I’ve cut the garbage out. BUT YEST VERY GOOD AND HEALTHY.
Thank you for your concern.
Jennifer Arteaga says
I love your posts! I look forward to them all week! You are inspiring me to get out and explore.
1. I love going for breakfast at new places with my husband on the weekends.
2. My friend was going to travel the world for 13 months and she sold me all of her stuff clothes, shoes and accessories for super cheap.
3. We when to the Charlottes Web Play with my daughters Girl Scout troop which I didn’t see much of because my 7 month old decided she was to talk during the performance lol. Sunday morning we always go to my husbands soccer game.
Taralynn McNitt says
Thank you so much Jennifer! That makes me so happy 😀
Exploring is my jam! I have been slacking on my breakfast places lately (theyre my fave) but its super fun to try out new places! It’s nice that you and your husband can do that together.
That is a total win!!!& what a cool friend!
Lol gotta love the baby talk! 🙂 SO cool your husband plays soccer! I bet that is fun.

Thank you Katelyn!
THEYRE SUPER DUPER GOOD!:) BACON & AVOCADO ADDED!
Jessie @ The Acquired Sass says
Somehow my comments on your blog always seem to circle back to hiking.
But I love spending the weekends hiking. If I had my way they would always end with drinks with friends around a campfire. Which I’m pretty sure this weekend will entail!
As far as a bargain…I needed a new wallet // ID case and a sunglasses case and I got them both from Vera Bradley, with free shipping for under $10 for both together.
This weekend I spent one day in Slovenia and the other in Venice. I’m finally back to the states and ready for some sleep in my own bed!
Taralynn McNitt says
Lol I always think of you when hiking gets brought up too! 🙂
I think hiking is a great way to spend the weekend. My family is coming to town on Thursday so I we may be doing a bonfire too!
That is a great deal and I love VB wallets!
Sounds like you had a GREAT weekend!:) You’re always so adventurous.

You look so pretty in the rose bush picture! 🙂 Sounds like a delicious time filled with good food and friends! What kind of dipping sauce did they have for the Brussels sprouts? It looks so good!
Taralynn McNitt says
Thank you so much Heather! The dipping sauce was RANCH (my fave) 😀
Kylie McGraw says
Those shoes are so cute! And we have a Tupelo Honey here in Arlington…the biscuits are so good! You’ll have to try this location next time you’re in DC to compare 🙂 I went to a museum this weekend, too! So fun to get out in your own backyard and see new things!
Taralynn McNitt says
Thanks Kylie!
I might do that:) I heard the one in DC is really good too lol I love DC and the museums!
I can’t wait to go back next weekend!

Always loving your weekend posts! They make me jealous of your beautiful city!
Random question, I know you mention working throughout the day, I was curious if you had another job outside of blogging?
Taralynn McNitt says
Thank you Victoria! I bet your city is beautiful! You can find the beauty in anything/anywhere you go!
I run my clothing line and blog full time 🙂

Love, Love, LOVE your outfit at the museum – gray shorts, striped sweater and shoes! Where did you get the shorts and top? I read where you got the shoes…Bass & Co, right? You have the cutest style. Please keep posting more outfit pics and where you purchase them. It’s so fun finding new styles and different ways to wear them. Thanks so much for sharing!
Taralynn McNitt says
Thank you Jen!
Gray Shorts are actually from THRED UP!
Shoes are from Bass & Co!
That sweater was bought three years ago at Old Navy!
Thanks so much for the compliments !

I can’t get over how adorable you are! I love that you’re including fashion into your blogposts.

Thank you Gale 🙂
Kara says
Your weekends seem like so much fun. I try to be active but I’m usually so exhausted from my busy week or I have to stay in to study but I’m going to try to incorporate more activities
Two things for you!!!!
1. Can you post more recipes again? You used to do those all the time and I loved your healthy substitutions!
2. Can you give us some advice on how you balance school, work, and living a healthy lifestyle? School drains me (I’m pre-vet) and it’s so hard to keep up with everything. I’d love some advice!!
xoxo
Taralynn McNitt says
Thank you! I do LOVE my weekends 😀
I do little recipes here and there in my recap posts, but you’re right! I do need to post some more recipes!
I do all online classes so it’s a lot easier for me to balance it all. My healthy lifestyle is just something I strive to live and it has become natural and I don’t even have to think about it. You need to make it a habit and fit it in with your stressful schedule. Make working out and eating healthy a routine 🙂
xo
Cassie says
So glad you are loving Charlotte! Weird question, but how did you go about meeting people and making so many great friends?! I’m a pretty outgoing person but have trouble making friendships when moving. I’m heading to a new city soon and would love to hear any advice.
Taralynn McNitt says
🙂 THANK YOU!
I got pretty lucky meeting them at my apartment complex, relationships, and running groups etc. I live in a very young city so everyone is pretty social and outgoing!
Emily B says
1) Sometimes I am torn on what I like to do on the weekends! Haha! There always seems to be something going on to which we are never home…so I do enjoy getting to have a relaxed weekend at home every now and then but I really love getting to do the antique shopping or exploring my favorite cities or just getting out of town and going shopping. And eating good food 🙂
2) Hmmm…That’s a good question! I did find a super cute fold-down table at a flea market last year that I repurposed for my kitchen. It was only $40 which was pretty decent.
3) Last weekend my husband and I hung out with my parents, I worked Saturday morning, and then tried to spend the rest of the weekend relaxing/being mildly productive. It was a pretty decent balance 🙂
Also dying for that chicken sandwich recipe! They look awesome!
Taralynn McNitt says
1. I agree. I always say I’m going to do nothing and chill at home but that NEVER happens! I do the same as you.
2. Flea markets are awesome for steals!
3. That sounds like a very fun and relaxing weekend!
Working on the sandwich now! 😀
