This morning, I decided to wake up early and make breakfast for my parents. I chose French toast because it’s my Dad’s favorite. As I reached into the refrigerator to grab the milk for the egg mixture, I accidentally grabbed the eggnog. Instead of putting it back, I decided to use it and make an eggnog flavored French toast. And boy was this the best accident ever!
Ingredients: *6 large eggs, *1 1/4 cup egg nog, *1/2 tablespoon ground cinnamon, *1 packet stevia, *1/2 teaspoon nutmeg, *8 slices whole grain bread.
-You can use any kind of eggnog, all egg whites, any kind of bread, and real sugar for replacements.
-Whisk eggs, eggnog, cinnamon, stevia, and nutmeg together.
Grease a frying pan with olive oil, butter, or cooking spray. Turn it up on high. Dip the bread into the eggnog/egg mixture and add it to the hot skillet. Cook each side until golden brown. As soon as I take it off the skillet, I put it in the toaster for 20 seconds to crisp the edges. You can sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top for more sweetness.
This recipe makes 8 slices of eggnog french toast.
I served the french toast with roasted turkey bacon and garlic eggs. I’ll post the egg recipe soon.
This is hands down the best French toast I have ever made and I can’t wait to make it again. You can make healthy swaps if you want. Try only egg whites, lighter egg nog, and low cal bread. This would be great for a holiday brunch!
